Sush
Thank you for the link, Shweta. And Sush, I read through the post twice and each of your words are so well chosen to describe the situations in the episodes, that it made up for a vicid read. Needless to say that Shweta's collages are an absolute delight and gel well with your words aptly.
Three episodes and I have a lot to say. Bear with me, but let me begin by talking about the characters to let out the turn of the events.
Indrani
No man chooses evil because it is evil; he only mistakes it for happiness, the good he seeks
Ah, if you remember Sush in one of the older Sushpectives I had said that Indrani is like Mother Gothel and Chandni is the Rapunzel to her. She indeed turned out to be the one to Chandni, keeping her close and putting up a facade of love when in the heart of heart she was just fulfilling her greed and ulterior motives and making the most out for her own family. Its true isnt it, the mother nurtures the child and brings her up, while not expecting anything in return. But Indrani could never be the mother to the Chandni who loved her back with all her heart. I loved the analogy that the Mama has used here wrt to showcasing how the evil in Indrani was always met with love and affection from Chandni. And its disheartening to say the least that she actually sold off a girl who loved her back with all her heart and is being the sacrificing the lamb for her.
I would have to say that Ritu Shivpuri was an absolute terror when she let the mask slip and took onto being her evil self. What fantastic voice modulation and superb acting from her. If this week's episodes have garnered attention, it is all because of her.
Chandni
Step Mom, you entered our family at my father's side with wisdom and patience. Though of your flesh I was not conceived, you cared and filled an empty need.
Chandni 's character has undergone tremendous change since the inception of the show but one thing that has been a constant with her has been the love she harbours for her mother and the need to always make things work for her. She is the daughter one always wants and the sister one can depend upon. Yet, she has been unsuccessful to move the cold heart of her mother, if at all her mum has a heart that is. Its an inane need that arises from within and she cannot help but be the sacrificial lamb as she stands on the threshold of marrying a sleaze ball just to please her mother. However, will she always choose to remain blind to her mother;s vices or will she indeed take a stand for herself, is yet to be seen.
This one character has confused me multiple times in the past. But with the Mama's angle I am glad there has been more depth to the emotions she feels for Dev and her family and my sympathies are swiftly turning towards her. And I would like to congratulate Shivani for upping her game and slipping under the skin of the character, even though the writing for this one hasnt been too up to the mark. But the girl has adapted to the transition with finesse.
Advay
The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies but also to hate his friends.
Oh my, this one character leaves me speechless. I have just caught up on tonight's episode and I am blown away with the way he has emoted today. And the writing today has been fabulous. We see Chandni on screen, going about doing things that she has to. But its Dev and Advay whose impacted and the one whose emotions are showcased to us. What a fantastic juxtaposition of the two characters, and what transition from the man as he swung between being Dev and being Advay.
As Nani rightly said, 'you had gone as Advay and your back as Cheeku'. Superb connotation and the play of emotions was perfect to say the least. This man has seamlessly made us fall in love with the anti-hero and the credit goes to none but Sobti. I absolutely loved him tonight and I am besotted with his acting prowess. I loved the scene where he reminisces his childhood with Chandni and Sobti has the power to move me with his actions.
And now that we have a child in the picture which has challenged Advay's foresight about Chandni's goodness, makes me wonder if Advay Singh Raizada will let his mask slip away and knowing well that it is Chandni's illegitimate child, would still be the bigger man and accept the baby with open arms. Oh what poetic justice would that be and I am looking forward to seeing Sobti bring the goodness of Dev to the fore as he kills the hate named Advay within him.
This week the show has taken a swift turn towards revelations that were kept under wraps and I have to give credit where its due. Apart from the fabulous enactment by all the cast, the screenplay and script have been on the upswing and the makers have finally got the grip on it. I have to also commend Rupesh for his brilliant portrayal of the sarcastic, mean jerk that PP is, Nani, for being the positive ray of light in Advay's dark light and Mama for being the man with the heart. The show has been resurrected and how and as we move towards an untoward marriage between two long lost friends turned foes, the clouds of misunderstanding have been contrived by unforeseen circumstances, pushing the love into the dungeons of darkness as hatred comes to fore. But it will be interesting to see how love conquers all.
And I would like to take this opportunity and thank heavens for toning down the make up and doing away with the hideous outfits that the show had begun on. Loved the muted pastels for Chandni and the man is always a treat to watch in black and white.
PS I see the hand accessory Chandni wears is in vogue and I am contemplating finally buying it for the upcoming festive season. Would not be too bad an idea is it? I mean I can wear it as just junk or use it for my protection too, like an armour.😛
PPS Lovely collages Shweta and I see you capture Sobti 's expressions like none. 😊
PPPS The baby is darn cute. 😳
