Pictorial representations, illustrations, drawings as opposed to text or writing are purposeful and significant. For children as young as four years + their sketches are an important medium whereby they express their sentiments, likes ,dislikes ,fears in the form of pictures they draw. Children's drawings also provides them a popular platform for language acquisition. In this day and age of advanced technology, adults also convey their needs through recognized diagrams. In order to save time, skip writing, many of us chose to make effective use of emoticons to express our sentiments to those who matter to us. As the title suggests, illustrations are an effective method of reaching out to people without engaging them in a rigmarole of spoken language and words. The title sprang to my mind due the fact that the episode refers to poses, shots drawings. In short a great mix of how things appear,or seem in the first instance..
Every picture tells a story.. rather an unpleasant one for Chandni who cringes at Advay's filthy eating habits. Advay has no issues as long as he gets every squiggly bit of noodle in his mouth. His concern is if she's completed the punishment task of the word sorry written 100 times. She exceeds the limit, actually 101times! Advay reaches out with his finger licking pincer grip, but no way does she wants even the briefest contact with his greasy fingers. No surprise he has no bin too! As she goes for a bin.. he has the chance to flick though Chandni's sketch book. Right from the picture on the first page ,Advay's eyes behold, as the penny drops for him! Every illustration of hers paints him in a rather bleak picture. She clearly sees him as a rather deserved negative caricature ! So he is nothing but a devilish cartoon to her! who needs a good hiding with a pair of shoes! and his mode of transport needs to be punctured like his swollen ego! Really? muses Advay, she expresses well what she feels about him in her creative sketches! But the point of interest is her preoccupation with him!! Advay is most touched , in fact its Chandni who runs from his wrath! The scene forges a nostalgic link between their present to their past, when as children they must have expressed their feelings in drawings..the mirth of moments when she would run around the house giving him the thrill of chasing her! Advay recalls those fond childhood memories ! here the CV,s do well by showing a gradual build up to Chandni recollections of her childhood. Her issue though well may be, she remembers, but the sag lies in the fact that despite the few hints from ASR.. she cannot for her life equate her chum Dev with this obnoxious rude man!
Their midnight playful Had's and chase across the winding corridors, puts surreptitious Shakun in the picture for Advay! Her nightly walk tells him a story.. the woman who speaks in riddles herself becomes a conundrum for him.. she meets some one? but who?? Shakun maybe the weak link he needs, to break the chain of tight lipped secrecy in this house! Shilpa assures him she'll keep an eye on Shakun. Interesting to note that Advay too like his counterpart Indrani has his feelers all out, alert, ready to pick up clues to his past history! what happened years ago with his family?
On the other hand.. the three good sisters ,put Advay in the picture! The camera pans on him. Chandni questions his affluence, if he was Richie rich why would he settle for their guest room? He is under her scanner.. she will carry out a search of his room..expects the obscure picture about ASR.. shall become more vivid as to who? he really is!!! The sortie will take later. Speak of the devil! and he turns up at the right place at the right time! Its like when the cat is away the mice play! Advay can smell fish in the air, besides when these three meet.. he can be sure they are up to no good!! Meghna and Shika scurry away... but clumsy Chandni ends up on the floor! Right before Advay's feet!.. he knew it... fishy odour!
Pretty as a picture, a picture of health lying on her side.. Advay looks down at this artists model.. just lying on her side almost coquettishly. Advay blinks his eyes slowly.. what is she doing here lying in the middle of the drawer room? He knows back chatting is no issue with her.. she's chilling, waiting for the photographer to do her pre wedding pictures! Advay was dressed for the occasion and besides he is her groom.. so if its posing for shots! Then he'll be most happy to oblige.. he'll be a pose tutor! Thus begins the delectable photo shoot of two people..advay and Chandni.. are these poses for real? Or are they merely acting out a pose? A picture? A facade? , by her hand Advay pulls her up! Lays the curve of her back on his arm and leans on her face.. just like in the films RK.. in fact the pose is a trademark of Raj Kapoor films! Is this expressive of their bond towards each other?or its just a picture.. that may be telling their story. Advay lifts her up and pastes her against the wall.. a superhero Spiderman pose! Chandni..nearly loses her nerves when he pulls her back against him,spreads her arms, presses his hands across her belly and whispers hoarsely in her ear.. and this me dearie, is the Jack and Rose ,Titanic pose! Beleaguered by their closeness.. Chandni closes her eyes. Seems the sham of enacting romantic couples was beginning to wear off and some forbidden sweet sentiments begin to churn inside Chandni. This only happens in movies not in real life! Advay is on a roll..with a brolly perched over his head.. he whispers another famous love couple words. It's about declaring and accepting love! Throws a coat around their face and tells her that's the kind of lover he is... So what's in all these iconic romantic picture perfect poses? Of Chandni and Advay ? any degree oftruth? a hint of some brewing, progressing, and then extending into an eternal connection of their souls? Advay and Chandni are unsure.. at the moment.. it's a blurry picture. Such poses..portray only what appears.. the real picture is PP to be the man for Chandni. However one can make a momentary photo shoot live through a few fleeting Instances of love between Chandni and Advay..
The mock photo session, melts formality and creates familiarity between the two if nothing more.. name endearments ,selection, rejection of what Advay should call her seeing he'll marry her soon enough! Makes Chandni worry.. he just refuses to get the picture that she has been sketching all along.. she will not be marrying him! for him he can see the bigger picture on a wider canvas.. gorgeous Chandni will be his.. she may commit to PP, but marry she will Advay Singh Raizada !
Chandni decides she has to show him the picture ,the real picture.. literally throws herself to be invited out by PP.. but before that.. a rummage around ASR's room.. bad luck.. she very nearly misses Dev's picture.. hope looms up that she will know the real face of ASR. what irony ,she is unaware of who the real devil is!
The bleak picture..crossing the threshold of her home to step out to date PP.Chandni cups the special stone in her hands, to draw strength from it, that helps her to step out of the inner sanctum of her house ,her temple..to face the real world. Advay watches her with concern he needs to grant her the space to perhaps, see for herself the broader canvas of truth as he knows it.. the ugly reality of PP! Who seeks not her soul but her body. Advay wonders should he stop her? draw the full picture of PP and his sinful intent before he? But she is unlikely to believe him! or let her spell it out for herself? Hamlet53 3.8.17..
A full on, flower garland of romance between Advay and Chandni. Everything seems to be going the way it should be, there closeness is progressing.. yet the picture of their true feelings towards themselves is still hazy. Seems now that Chandni wants to know about the reality of this permanent resident..she is likely to find out what he really looks like.. mind you she blows it in this episode. Barun and Shivani were incredible.. they are the life line of the show..
