yes Gul we want him back... The one who could make us love and hate and frustrated all the same... The thick headed arrogant him... Which made Barun one of my fav...
But don't you think it's the character... ASR was a different person from this ASR... Our pappad ka thukda was that character... Plus the brilliant actor...

As much as I would love to see AYM again , at the beginning of show when they said this ASR wears his heart on his sleeves and is openly emotional and vengeful , i was excited to see a different shade of him. But sadly the show is so badly put that neither am I happy with the character or the actor.

Don't kill me for this...But read an interview yday where he said at this point he doesn't have anything more to prove . This was about his acting ok. Maybe he might not have said it and the reporter was reading between lines...Any case if that's how he thinks then I now know what changed about him... The lack of urge to prove is what gets the best out of anyone ... Pushing limits... Trying and exploring new things ...Which he did try ...But it's a never ending process...

Anyways as much as I hope, this character is beyond repair...Barun alone can't do much... This was half baked cookie as far as to him...Gul wasted a perfect opportunity to create a new sensation al character...

Very well put yaar but you said it yourself. In PRATHAM initially Barun was wooden. But his acting changed post the rain hug/car crash scene. By the time PRATHAM ended Barun the actor had arrived. So he no longer needs time to get into the groove. Anyway 1 mth of Advay should be enough. I still say that the problem is with writers & director. That is why if u notice I ve addressed this post to Gul & not Barun. We all know what he is capable of. But the makers apparently dont & are using only his looks & charisma more than his acting skills 😭

I agree the writers haven't been upto the mark in writing some scenes but even there I feel we are judging quite harshly. There were quite few scenes in Pratham too where I went WTH is happening but yes after the show progressed I could understand the characters more clearly. That is what I am saying - We need some time for the writers to show the characteristics for the story. And the other thing we need to understand that Pratham was a straight forward story whereas here the story has a huge background so yes that is why there was repetition of scenes quite a few number of times in the first 2 weeks. And with parallel story tracks it is really a tough challenge for writers to write about all characters in the same episode - That is why today it was about Indrani where they showed that Indrani is one who has honey tongue but behind that facade lies a calculative woman who sees only her gain. Tomorrow they are going to show what Advay does to clear his name and come back to Haveli as we know he is in Haveli by the precap time.

And I personally want the emphasis to be on all characters and not only on Leads like they did in Pratham. That is why I am okay to take some episodes where there is less spotlight on Barun because like Pratham I don't want everyone to be a furniture and only leads have the maximum coverage. The only reason the love story was progressed this quick was to get in the solid fanbase but after that I am sure they are going to slow down the love story and push for other tracks and that is how I want the show to unravel. I want to see Indrani scheming, Veer - Shikha's story which hopefully would be better than Payash story, Veer - Advay meeting and Advay taking revenge on everyone.

Advay and Arnav are two separate people .. I am just so Glad there are no similar traits .. that makes it easier to like him.. why should we compare the 2 . If Gul had to show the same story yet again better show the rerun ..
I want more shades in advay .. right now we know he's not in love with chandni but He ismercilessly seducing her .for revenge ..
I want this story because of the leads fall in love in 20 episodes then where is the pyar it becomes a family drama.

Papad ka tukda is my dear Arnav!
This is different character Advay! I don't want to see another AYM
I am Loving this charming and seducing Advay! If u r talking about emotions, this particular track is about wooing his girl! We can't expect emotional or angry Advay here!

Chandni's so many proclamations of - Whatever Mother says has indeed showed Advay that Chandni is but a puppet and the strings are in Indrani's hand. That is why he packed his bags - Plus I do think Shilpa has told him what has happened as she took him away after Murli showed him the video tape. So today Advay was doing tactful retreat to come back the next day with proof and clear his name. That is why he tells in the precap that he didn't expect Chandni to play such a prank.

@RED: Shilpa might have told him (which I doubt) but I have a strong feeling that he already knew Chandini was behind all this, because if you notice his immediate expression after Murli showedhim the video, he lifts his head and looks in the direction of Chandini. And there was a slight amused smile playing around the corner of his lips. I think he knew it right away that it was her. And honestly, I thought Shilpa came there to fetch him on Indrani's command. That's how I understood the episode.

Loving so many theories emerging from a single sequence.😆

You are right...he probably has it figured out already...

That expression is not of a man...who has been told to comply...and he is just doing that...He has got something up his sleeve!

Angel ...sorry if I have hijacked your thread..will go back to mine...😳

First things first, I love the way you wrote the post. Super cute!😆
Coming to my 2 cents, I feel Barun is doing exactly what he is been asked to do. He is a director's actor through and through. A talented director not only guides the actor but does his homework and try to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the actor he/she is working with. And when you are a director's actor, the actor's skill level resets each time they pick a new project. They take time to get into the skin of the character, they start from the scratch. To put it in simple words, actors like Barun are like "fine-grained clay". They can be molded into any form, but into which form completely depends on the potter, that is director. So we cant expect such actors to perform best from the first very scene, or in director's voice, "ACTION!"

So if you closely watch Pratham intial episodes, they are my least favorite. Especially the first episode (barring intro chopper shot), where he was very rigid (don't mistake it as stern & arrogance) in his dialogue delivery with his chacha, in his walk, on stage where he introduces his sister... It certainly took him few episodes to get into the rhythm, which shows that he had watched the episodes and perfected his acting where it lacked. Not just him, I am sure director must have done his homework too which is why they were able to bring out the best after best (gradually) from all their actors...

Which is the same thing happening in IPK3, with respect to editing and screenplay. Lets just compare Week1 to the Week 4. There is a huge improvement which we should acknowledge it fairly. I really hope they continue to take notes, feedback and improve at this rate.

Coming to the main topic (sorry got deviated and gave my gyaan ), in my honest opinion, Barun is completely slaying the character so far. (again barring the first episode. Lets not get into the first episode disaster, his expressions while holding the statue by that thin rope...I have compartmentalized that part and promised myself never to whine about it. So moving on...). It did take him fairly less amount of time to get into the skin of the character in this show, but he did wavered a little bit in the first few episodes. Now I don't see any issue the way he is portraying Advay Singh Raizada.

Having said that, I do have a problem with the director with respect to Advay evilness, which has been bothering me from the time he started flicking those fingers as he walks away form Chandini.

I have mentioned about this in some other thread...quoting it here again so you know what I am talking about.

Change of expression in one area would have made wonders to justify his evilness, which I feel director missed it big time! And that is each time he walked away from Chandini, the moment he turned, faced his back to her & did that mocking salaam (be it after teasing her or winning over her) Advay should have worn an out-an-out evil expression instead of that smirk. That would have totally justified his malicious plans which only viewers know at this point. The smile and smirk in those particular scenes is giving away wrong message for viewers who are not able to understand the depth of his quiet strategic planning. His characterization is being misunderstood because of things like that in my opinion.

But again even Pratham had a long list of tracks that CVs didn't handle well leaving me so disappointed.. for example, the morning after consummation, Khushi's meaningless reason (of bhai behen pyaar) to not to share about Shyam to Arnav...I better stop here before I get a WL for talking about another show😆)

PS: Sorry I didnt realize how long it got. 😕

Him packing bags...without paying much thought to what or who caused it was a bit out of character though...I think after the ousting...there should have been more curiosity or dissatisfaction...not an easy acceptance...I do think that this is all very temporary and he will be in control of the situation in no time...This was a miss for the screen play writer through...

I agree wholeheartedly.. we have good dialogs, story.. direction has improved to but the main drawback is the screenplay which is backbone to any performance.. the smile was so fixed that even annoyed bitiya.. where she rebukes his crooked smile.. there should be a private moment where he should bring out his anger & disgust at the whole family living in his "home".. something that was brought out so correctly in Pratham Villian... I wish they had shown unmasking of Indrani in small installment, rather than the snake murder... just to keep us wondering is she good as she appears loving her daughters or maybe more under her skin..

PS BTW what is ur name 😳

My name is Priya 😳
There should be more emotions
But right now the track is focussed on mainly Chandni
So he is shown interacting the most with her
Once they marry he may interact more with the other members

Sush 🤗

That was a perfect example. No inner monologues, no cursing in the privacy of his room, no change in his expression when Indrani gives her final pranam. After all she had her back to him right. Why is he not showing any change in expression. For the past 2 weeks his expressions have remained the same. Advay was supposed to be an evil character. Hell he burnt that girl's dress for gods sake. And now all we get is that naughty smirk. Had ho gayi yaar 😡
