They need to show us more about Chandni and what she is feeling about this stranger who has simply popped into her life and is causing such hullabaloo in it. We're only being shown Rabba Ve scenes without actually knowing what might be on her mind because she is neither doing any monologues nor talking to anyone about it. All we know is that she still has post traumatic stress disorder, holds her mother's reputation above all and misses Dev. This is one reason why the takkar scenes aren't having major impact. But from what I see from the new promo, Chandni is showing her sassy side and I am loving it! Signs of resilience finally! 😃 Plus yes, there is no doubt that Barun and Shivani have lovely chemistry as, despite this flaw about Chandu's characterisation, I feel those sparks between them <3 And, Shivani is doing a really good job with Chandni 😳
Honestly speaking, I have no problem with Advay's characterisation. In fact, despite his jerk behaviour and how he is being mean to Chandu, I am still rooting for him because he has been betrayed, and he isn't being a "Arnav Singh Raizada" kind of jerk. Advay has a heart and he is genuinely hurt. What is going to happen next in his life intrigues me. They've shown us a lot about his emotions and strategies so I am able to be empathetic when it concerns him.
Now on the technical side, the first major flaw is DIRECTION and Gul should also tell Harneet to be realistic, give Advay a job, give Chandni solid dialogues while confronting Advay to make their takkars interesting and to pity her show, us and the audience and tell Shivani Shirali to stop experimenting so much and showcasing such a mess in the name of costumes on the show.
EXACTLY! And this is my major issue with playing 'rabba ve' - no matter how much I love the AdNi scenes, we are not desperate for 'rabba ve' moments yet, why not spend time now showing their confrontations and giving us a glimpse of Chandni's thoughts? She has the expressions, like I can see her scared and confused but her THOUGHTS about this dude are never put across to us as an audience, and in the next scene she's completely back to normal like a guy didn't just try to threaten her lol. And now, it looks like we are gonna go from not knowing what's on her mind, to her showing tashan to Advay 😆 Chalo, a sassy Chandu is definitely welcome, tho I just hope they show a realistic, unhurried transition of her from now to Miss Sassypants.
I actually really enjoy Chandni-Indrani scenes, that's one aspect of Chandni which shines through as you said - she loves and respects her mother and holds her above all.
Tbh with you I used to be so confused about how a grown man could hold an 8 year old's words accountable for his parents death. But seriously - if I was in his place, I'd seriously murder everyone involved in my parent's murder and happily go to jail. Not even joking. So I totally get him. Again, it's just the execution of his scenes I have a problem with and that is completely on the director/editor etc. IMO.
YES YES! To everything you said, especially the last paragraph! 😆 Aur director say yaad aya, I wish we had gotten Lalit Mohan on board 😔 Think he was one of the QH directors and that is like my favorite hindi serial ever, well at least the first season of it was lol. No offence to this Aman guy, but he's just not cutting it :|
