Promising story & performers becoming a victim of shite execution.

Just need to rant a little bit, idek if anyone is awake rn lol.


So I wanna start off by clarifying I have zero attachment to IPK 1, any of the actors or actresses involved, the bg scores, the scenes or anything. This post is just me venting out my frustrations regarding the technicalities of the show.

Now when I first heard of the story, heard about it being the revenge-saga of an anti-hero, I was intrigued. Then we started getting details about the characters and how they'd be fleshed out eg. Advay a maths professor and musician, Chandni a Sanskrit scholar, dealing with anxiety issues. The characters, to me, also sounded intriguing.

So far so good.

Cue two weeks into the show and the only thing I am is mighty confused. Sorry not sorry, but the editing and directing teams in particular, are majorly letting down the story and the cast. There is little to no flow between scenes, and oh! One of my biggest peeves is when I have no CLUE about what one of the protagonists is thinking. This is the case with my Chandu rn - I'm not demanding long inner dialogues or monologues or soliloquys but at least some clarity on how she feels towards this stranger who has been cornering her and being cryptic towards her for no rhyme nor reason. The only time we have really gotten a look into her thoughts and feelings is when she is reminiscing about Dev, or thinking about her kidnapping and how she won't let that incident leave her with crippling fear.

I'm of the opinion that the leads do act well, they DO have lovely chemistry but the execution of their scenes, the fleshing out of their characters has so far been wishy-washy. I am NOT expecting any character development already since we're only two weeks into the show, but I am at least expecting some character establishment. More than with Advay, I am becoming confused with Chandni's character. Especially after the new shaadi promo and screen journal BTS.

She was no abla nari, yes she suffered from anxiety but she has always shown a quiet strength. She even showed a hint of feisty-ness in her scene with her sisters when she teased them. But where is this 'tossing-her-hair-on-his-face', talking-back-to-him Chandu coming from?

Now this post could be extremely premature, maybe they'll show us a good enough reason on why Chandu suddenly becomes uber comfortable to do nok-jhok with the man who was threatening and terrorizing her. But at this stage, and I am someone looking forward to some MAJOR AdNi romance, the shaadi promo makes no sense right now.

Advay seems like he has a change in strategy; he's planning to charm and woo her then break her. But what makes Chandni suddenly get so sassy around him? I would love it of course, I just hope it is justified plausibly.

I still have faith in this show. I love the leads, I love the villain, I can take some illogical nonsense in story, I can even take the costumes now as they don't bother me. Just a simple request - make the writing and execution a little more crisper and tighter.

I agree with you. The direction and editing has not been at par. One reason might have been there was lot of stuff that had to be out - like parts of past, Dev - Chandni interactions, Chandni's nightmares so they could not completely reflect on Chandni.

And I personally hope the shaadi promo is only a far away indication and is not happening so soon. At least I want Chandni to figure out Advay is her Dev before she accepts the proposal.

I think Monday's precap part is the start of reflections of Chandni. We see that she has come to investigate Advay and see what he is. Right now Chandni is kind of intimidated by the guy - staying away is her primary response but she has learned to give him back equally. Her dialogue of - Main Chandni hoon proves that. And I guess after the khazana door is not getting opened she will try to figure this guy and his cryptic messages.

Let's see why she came into Advay's room and see how she tackles him.

Oh yes! I haven't watched Friday's episode yet so forgot about it but her entrance to his house may very well start to delve into her thought process when it comes to Advay. As far as I remember reading the precap, she's still afraid and wary of him. Interesting to see how and why she'll suddenly become a sherni in front of him 😆

Regarding the shaadi thing, I have a sinking feeling she mightn't find out until after she marries him Would love to be proven wrong tho!

I guess she also falls in love with 'Advay' hence that love letter we got :/

Honestly I have no knowledge on editing and direction, so can't give gyaan about that department...but execution could be much better, lets see what happens in the coming days...
Hopefully it will improve with the coming episodes..

I have said this from the very beginning of the show

This show lacks only one thing and that is proper direction and editing

Due to the lack proper edit and direction , the hardwork, the mind blowinn acting by almost all the actors r being overshadowed.. i really dont know how to send my voice to 4lions, but they really need to fix this out
