A loaded question, is heavy with meaning or an emotional impact..So asks the title of the show what name should be given for this love? Another question that comes to my mind is, does love need a name? As love is love..ah yes it is! but then again this key quality of god .. Love, manifests itself in different ways towards different relationships and causes. One has the most poignant mother child love.Love as warm affection for family and friends. Passionate Love for ones faith, nation and personal beliefs. Then that love that the creator put in the human heart for another, that which one feels towards one's beloved. Love that unites, the body, heart and souls of two people. What name does one give such love? The title seems charged with hidden implications.
The approach of the zipper jacketed guitarist, heavy metal clangs! boldly reflects his mood. Cupped in his hands , a urn containing ashes. Perhaps that's why the western country style bearded rocker hides behind ray bans to hide some grief? Erratic in disposition. Sudden impulsive jump into the swimming pool! To save a vulnerable pup! The question that springs to mind is this heavy metal hard rocker a big softie underneath his tough oblivious to his worldly image? The grateful lick from the pup for his saviour is rewarded by a puppy dog sullen eye lock. To me it's clear this rocker has a gentle hard, no question! he interacts well with animals. Then sudden detachment from the adorable young animal. The rocker's puppy dog eyes turn cold as the water of the pool.. and we begin to raise questions about the other side of this figure? cold words , innocence and love have no place in his life.. suddenly the heavy metal of the guitar begins to make sense..
Not even the sudden life guard style save a soul leap in water can put out the concealed inferno blazing in his heart. A question mark forms , why the festering fury? The shocking , untimely murders of both his next to kin. The burning question is by whom? Apparently some girl called Chandni.. her name fuels his anger. He recalls his mother set alight! Rhetorical question, the fire was put out. But the flames of fury in his heart , rages.. in the tongues of fire he will now burn to ashes ..Chandni! yes after sixteen years he returns to pull her into the consuming fire which he constantly ignites by pouring the fuel of hate for Chandni. The question at length is.. this obsession he carries in his heart for a certain Chandni.. does it have a name?? they say there is a thin line between the sentiments of love ..and hate..
Chandni, misses someone called Dev. Working out the distance of the chandelier from its height to the floor suddenly reminds her of her childhood friend. This distance for me is symbolic of the sixteen years time lapse between the rocker and Chandni. The question is what relationship will they share when they meet? Is there a name to it? Odd.. he clearly harbour revenge against her. she clearly feels she misses him..
What name can be given to this love?? Shiva.. is no ordinary deity .. he is known as maha dev! The god of all gods. Befittingly impressive scenes , like the vibrant deity himself.Totally immersed before the statue of Shiva, his devotes give notice of some exceptional occurances. There is no question that life will move on minus the presence of evil. The three birds as it is..are introduced. What their significance in Chandni's life is an interesting question. But two of the women refer to some misconduct Chandni was involved in. Through their wagging tongues ,I gather that Chandni has a slur against her name. The three women remind me of the three witches of Macbeth .. foretelling ,speculating .. if Chandni will turn up to perform the arti? What name can be given to this kind of love? That one of them, has towards Lord Shiva?there is intrigue, an eye is kept on the treasures of the temple. Which will help maintain, power status. However it depends on Chandni turning up to do arti of the god who favour this girl..opens his temple doors for her? and her family follows with sinister ulterior motive.. very intriguing.
The father daughter scene for me was one of the finest . What name can be given to this love? Where the daughter becomes a carer.. a mother for her ailing father. Failed memory plagues him. Chandni is his child who reminds him who he is? Keeps him focussed on his present and manages his time. She has a challenging life.. question is how tough is this girl really?
Not really , What gruesome memory hounds Chandni ?puts shackles of fear around her ankles and stops her from leaving the house? But she must make it to Lord Shiva's temple. She has to overcome that blemish on her virtue. Her uncle believes she is pure to this day. But within her own mind questions bombard her of that terrifying moment. When nothing really happened.. but a voice told her .. her virtue will be in question?
The high pitched drama scene.. where the larger than life statue of Lord Shiva.. threatens to fall.. but held is by the rocker! Is the scene which connects two souls in need to attain tremendous super human strength! One side there is Chandni in her house, clutches the stone where her name along with Dev's is set in stone. She sought divine power to overcome her fear to set foot out of the house.. Miraculously the power that she collects in her heart ,mind ,and soul... transports to the rockers grip on the rope that holds Shiva's giant statue! His upper and lower extremities are filled with Herculean strength! It's almost like this rocker tests his strength against the might of Shiva, who creates, destroys and then recreates new life out of destruction.. what name can be given to this power that passed from Chandni to Dev? Dear forum members... this is the first time ever I have watched IPKKND... it's my privilege to watch Barun Sobti for the very first time. He is truly a fine actor who has the potential to make an impact. Shivani looks great inthe role of Chandni.. she moved me today... thank you for accepting me on the forum.. love hammie
