This may be a symbolism for their future too. Advay will force himself into Chandni's life, slowly and she will finally succumb and fall in love with him i.e let him slip his fingers into hers and even reciprocate. But then his hate may turn into obsessive love and he will not let her go because he will need her and need to see her burn at the same time, i.e he doesn't let their interlocked fingers separate. Then he lets her go when he realises she is innocent.
