CHAPTER 4: The Punishment

Author's POV

"I have informed Shivay that I will be shifting to his house tomorrow and as usual our scapegoat is Anika. she laughed while saying this to her own mother, Kamini Singhania, "Well planned mother

She went away to pack all her things as Kamini continued to sip the hot coffee with a evil grin. Money and Power were the sole two things this lady craved for. She cared for no one, no one at all, not even her own daughter.

The next day, entire family (Tej, Kamini and Beeji) go to OB Mansion to drop Tia.

Shivay: "Welcome, Mr and Mrs Singhania.

Tej: "Good to see you, Shivay. As you know a lot has happened in the past few days. We have come here to bury all of that and start fresh. The deal between OB fashions and Singhania Fashion should not break and now we are related not only by business but like a family. I just have a minor request, Mr Singh.

Tej looks towards Beeji once and continues.

"I understand what Anika has done is very wrong. I had no idea she would do this to Tia. Yet, I can only request you to break all your ties with her and return her home as you will be starting fresh with Tia. "

Kamini looked away completely disinterested.

Shivay: I accept your proposal Mr Singhania but I cannot let Anika go away from this place. She has made a big mistake and she deserves to be punished for that. Moreover, she signed a contract that day according to which she will remain my wife for 6 months and after that I will leave her. So, that also means I cannot marry Tia for that period until I file for the divorce. But, for the world I have married Tia so she can stay here with me.

He smiled towards her.

Beeji: "Lekin, contract kyun?

Shivay: To make sure that she will not claim my property and open her mouth in the media.

Beeji shook her head in disappointment. She had no idea that her lovely Anika had to go through so much that miserable night. She wiped her tears and moved towards servant quarters to meet her.

Anika: "Beeji...

She couldn't control herself and ran straight into her arms in happiness.

Anika: "Are you alright? Apko kisine chot to nahi pahanchayi na?

Beeji: Na beta, lekin meri beti ko bahut chot pahanchayi hai. Mein to yahan tujhe lene ayi thi lekin Shivay ne bataya ki 6 mahine ka contract sign karwaya hai tujhse.

She sobbed in silence.

Flashback

Anika's POV

I continued banging the door till I was tired. It was worthless I understood. The room was dark and dusty. The silence scared me further. I looked here and there for some light source. There were arrays of aluminium shelves with many antiques, files and clothes thrown here and there. I saw a box lying at the far corner. I moved close to it and saw a red file which looked very recent. I scrutinized through the contents inside. There were a few legal papers and passport forms. I read the name.

SHIVAY SINGH OBEROI

I was amazed to see OBEROI'. Was it Shivay's full name? I didn't know. But before I could read further someone pulled my hair roughly and caged me in his arms.

I recognized it was Shivay. Why did he hide his surname I wondered?

He took the red file from my hands and threw it away with anger and pulled my hair with greater force making me shriek in pain.

"You dare not touch anything that belongs to me. Understood?He spat with anger. I nodded in pain.

"Wonderful Anika, firstly you made Tia run away on my wedding day and now you have the audacity to sneak in here.

"Right from today till this contract ends, you will do everything as I tell you to do because you have no other option. You will live her as my servant and work in the office as my employee. You will never be away from my prying eyes. Do you get it?he shouted on my face, dragged me out of the room and threw me on the floor.

End of the Flashback

Author's POV (continued...)

Anika: "Beeji, ap mat pareshan ho bas 6 mahine ki hi to baat hai uske baad mein apke pass aa jaungi.

She hugged me tight and I hugged her back with equal pain.

Beeji: Yeh sab uss Kamini ki wazah se hua hai. Mujhe maaf kar de beta mein tere liye kuch nahi kar saki.

Tej entered the room and saw them both crying.

Tej: "I am sorry, beta. I spoke to Shivay but as per contract you will have to stay here for 6 months. Omkara is coming tomorrow and you know his attitude towards the family. As per him Shivay has married Tia but we have to tell him the truth. You will have to handle him, beta.

They talked a little longer and departed soon after.

The next day Omkara arrived and Tej went to receive him to airport.

Tej: "Omkara beta, Welcome!

He moved ahead to hug him but Omkara stepped backwards, took a cab and went straight to meet his precious sister Anika whom he loved more than anything else. On reaching home, he found her nowhere and got worried.

Beeji: "Beta, woh nahin hai yahan. Usse Tia ki jagah baithna pada mandap mein...

And, before she could complete he took the car keys and drove straight to OB mansion.

Omkara: "Mr Shivay Singh! Come out. You loser. I say come out.

Hearing that familiar voice, Anika rushed towards the front door and she saw her only family there, her brother Omkara standing and shouting. He ran and hug him.

Omkara cried looking at her and asked.

Omkara:Di, usne apko chot to nahi pahanchayi na. Ap chalo di mere saath apko yahan rehne ki koi zarurat nahi.

Anika: "Please Om, tum mere saath chalo mein tumhe sab kuch batati hoon.

She dragged him to her room and explained all the details of that night and informed him about the contract she was made to sign.

Omkara hugged her once again and felt miserable for not being able to take her away from her.

Omkara: "Mrs Kamini Singhania iss hadd tak gir jayegi meine socha nahi tha, Di. Jab apne hi dhokebaaz ho to dusre se kya shikayat.

Anika cupped his face and told him that, "Aise nahi hai Om. Mein unki sauteli...

He put his fingers on her lips and moved his head left to right in a No'

Omkara: "Aisa kabhi mat bolna, Di. Kabhi bhi nahi...

He was about to leave from there when Shivay arrived and got down from his car.

Omkara: "How dare you, Mr Shivay Singh. I will kill you. Leave my Di.

Shivay:Oh welcome! Mr Omkara Singhania. Unfortunately, this is not the way you treat your brother in law.

He smirked. Anika arrived there and saw Omkara holding Shivay's collar.

Anika: "Om , chod tu unko aur ja yahan se.

Omkara: "Nahi. Mein khoon kar dunga iss admi ka.

Shivay:All the best for that.

Anika:Om, tujhe meri kasam. Plzz ja yahan se.

She folded her hands and he left Shivay and rushed from there at once.

Anika could not bear this anymore and advanced towards her room. She was about to leave when Shivay pulled her by her wrists and twisted her other arm behind her back. She looked at him in anger and pushed him with a lot of force releasing herself from his hold.

This made Shivay furious and he pushed her back towards the pillar. She reiterated by pushing him again and turned to leave.

RIP RAP!

She stood rooted to the spot with eyes wide open. There was a moment of silence and Anika turned back. He stood there struck dumb holding the ripped piece of fabric in his hands.

She covered her mouth with her hands. Tears loading up in her eyes, streamed down her cheeks. She clutched her dupatta and rushed away from there.

He was shocked not because he had ripped her clothes but because of what he saw when her salwar got torn.

There were marks...scars...wounds on her milky skin. A few faded and others fresh as if she had been whipped recently.

"Who gave you those Anika? Who? he heatedly clutched the fabric in his fist.

I hope this update is long enough for my readers. Also, hoping you guys will love this one. Next chapter will be only about Shivika. It will be a late update though.😃 If possible all the silent readers please post your comments and views here, it will be really very encouraging.

NOTE:

Singhania Family:

Tej Singhania: Anika's father (He cares for her but is guilty as she is illegitimate. Hence, he fails to stop Kamini from doing wrong to her.)

Kamini Singhania: Anika's step mom ( She got her home one day saying that she is illegitimate child of Tej and Swetlana (Tej's secretary) and since Swetlana died in a road accident, she used her child to become great in eyes of public. She blames Tej for cheating her.)

Tia Singhania: Anika's step sister (She hates Anika and is selfish as well as dumb🤣)

Beeji: Singhania's most loyal servant. (She is old and hates them all but Anika is more than her daughter. She had taken care of her right from day 1.)

Omkara: Anika's step brother (He loves Anika and hates everyone else. Tej wants him to join business but he is an art lover and pursues his career in that field which Tej does not approve of.)

this is really hard reading about Annika scars ! I understood that she was not treated properly from previous updates, but didn't know she was abused physically too ! poor girl ! she needs all the love in the world !
