Hello folks,
Next update below.
Drabble 6: Made for Each Other?
Whilst a third world war was about to start in the hospital, with Gauri and Omkara at logger-heads about Mrs. Arora , Shivaay sat at his desk, recalling the events of last week, feeling smug.
His flashback:
"They are made for each other. Shivaay stated emphatically whilst putting two files down before his superior officers Tej and Shakti. Finally, he had made a breakthrough, after weeks of going through police personnel files and conducting interviews.
When they gave him a questioning look on his remark, he realised his folly.
"I mean, as detectives, they will make great partners. Shivaay clarified.
Tej picked up Gauri's file and Shakti picked up the file which said OSO and they studied the files for a while, exchanging them later.
"Hmm. If you are sure Shivaay, we will go with your recommendation. After all, you are the best profiler we have in the department. We trust you. And it has been too much trouble trying to find a compatible partner for Omkara after Rudra left. He has sent five of them on the run, so much so, now nobody wants to work with him. And the Department cannot afford to lose him. Tej remarked.
"I agree Tej. I think Miss. Sharma will also make a great addition to the Mumbai Crime Brach, her record is impeccable, what she achieved in Gujarat is a feat. We need talented people like her and alongside Omkara, I am sure she will develop further. Does Miss Sharma know about OSO's ways? Shakti inquired.
"I believe not, sir. But she will find out, soon enough. I have full confidence they will make great partners. I cannot tell, if they will get along though. Shivaay wanted to be honest.
He was the best profiler in the whole of India, having had his training under the best detectives, and a passion for reading crime stories since he was a kid. He had also written a PhD on profiling at none other than University of Cambridge, his blue blood and sharp brain had funded that.
He thought about his latest pairing:
Omkara Singh Oberoi Confident and aristocratic but socially inept. Coming from a royal family, he was educated at the best institutions in India and abroad. He moved in the circles of the wealthy, titled, and powerful since birth. He was driven by a strong sense of justice, which led him to the IPD. After having been appointed as a direct officer, he rose through the ranks quite rapidly. He had a gift for detection and intuition; he was able to read situations like an open book, a talent which was enhanced by his excellent education. He believed in rigorous planning and thorough research to get into the head of the crime and criminals. But he had a problem with arrogance, at most times, which didn't go down well with his co-workers. He could be cold and rude, but he rarely lost his temper, his manners were very polished.
Gauri Kumari Sharma She was working-class with a difficult financial history. Stubborn and hot-tempered but she could handle people, she had the knack. And she always hid her kind and compassionate nature behind sarcasm and anger. Although her education was far from elite, this had not prevented her from becoming a clever, dedicated detective in her own right. Gauri was very intelligent, at par with Omkara, and a lonely life with little money had made her street smart with the ability to see things others couldn't . If Omkara was a expert planner, Gauri was an expert sleuth, she believed in spontaneity, she was a woman of action and charged into situations with courage and dedication. Although, her temper and raw manners had got her in trouble with her co-workers often, so far she had managed her department as the head, never having to answer to anyone except the superiors.
"But now, these two are working together. thought Shivaay. He was looking forward to the development in this new partnership; it would make a very interesting case study. They were from completely contrasting backgrounds with very dissimilar personalities but complementary skills. He knew he was taking a huge risk, but then he was the best, for a reason. Shivaay patted himself.
He had no clue of the fireworks still going on in the police hospital between his made for each other' parties. He picked up his phone and wrote a text. Back in the hospital, two phones buzzed at the same time, stopping two people waging a battle to stop and take notice.
Omkara and Gauri stared at the screen and then at each other, perplexed.
The message read, "Search warrant is ready for Arora premises. Come and see me, when you come to pick it up, separately.
