Helooo RiKarians 🤗
I still have the Rikara Rambling thread hanging at the altar. Haven't been able to write further on the same. Will try something by next week on the same. For now bringing this piece of writing.
The characters here are set up in a different scenario, there may be a slight resemblance to Om's character being an artist but that ends at that. I haven't thought whether it will be a TS or an FS.. all thanks to my hibernating mind due to lack of RiKara.
This brings me to Thank and applaud the writers here who come up with RiKara based write-ups when there is so much dearth of them. I dedicate this to all the consistent writers of RiKara for giving us the better versions of the untold stories of the two people we have come to love as one ~ RiKara.
Will try updating once in a week.
So without much further rambling...
She danced her way into my heart...
"Why the Ballet sweetheart? and I remember you mentioning arts... where did ballet come from? he couldn't keep from a frown forming at his forehead as he walked the lengths of his room trying to reason out with this minion.
"Omie ...It's called performing arts for a reason and you did sign the dotted lines she said in her matter of fact tone.
"Yeah but... I thought we would be doing this as a team... you and me... the paints, the canvas and... You tricked me into signing the application form, didn't you? he complained in a half accusatory tone, taking the guilt route to convince her to drop the plan.
"I'm I not looking good in my tutu?? She asked whirling around not paying any heed to his words. He turned around to see her working his mind in not giving up his persuasion, but as she twirled and tried to strike a pose, he couldn't deny she looked like a beautiful angel. As he smiled and hadn't uttered a word she continued, "Since I look beautiful and am your princess, can I have my wish granted.
"Why do you do this? And why do I even agree? he sighed plopping himself on his king size bed.
"Coz you love me Omie she said as she wound her hand around his neck and left a sloppy kiss on his cheeks.
"That I do and you know how to twist that very love in the ways that work the best for you he chuckled pinching her nose as she stuck out her tongue.
"Omie it's really getting late and I do not want to be late on my very first day she said with the best puppy face that she could come up with.
"Munchkin are you sure you want to do this?, he asked not convinced that it was a good idea. Who signs up for ballet when you could just paint all day long?
She took a deep breath, "Never been so sure and chill Omie, Main sab sambhal loongi she said running her fingers through her not so long hair.
"You are so like Shivaay he said shaking his head at their resemblance in attitude. As if on cue she widened her eyes and mouth just like the over the top expressions someone would give to his scandalizing statement. "And Anika too he said as if completing his previous line.
"I happen to get the best of them... don't I? she queried raising her eyebrow alternatively.
He nodded and bumped his forehead with hers and she blurted out "But I would choose you over them any given day... You're my main man Omie. Nothing comes between us.
"That's too intense Ms Anshika Singh Oberoi he said with a lopsided smile and an equally raised eyebrow.
"Ballet is supposed to be intense Omie and I'm just trying to get the pheels of it she imparted the little know how that she had gathered to her long haired bet friend cum uncle.
"Dramebaaz he chuckled and picking her up, he left his studio while she kept braiding his hair all the way to the summer camp venue.

They were late by ten minutes and it took them a further fifteen minutes to reach the counter for the final registration among the sea of people. Finally, they made it at last- literally, with all the others already ushered in. Finding the desk empty they were about to proceed when they heard a thundering voice bellow their way "Late Comers are rejected straight away. You may leave. Turning around they spotted a lady in her mid-fifties walking towards them with an authoritative gait. She had her ballet shoes on.
Om was about to reply back when a mellifluous voice emerged right behind the desk, "They weren't at fault. It was me.
All the heads turned to the desk while the lady ran behind the desk and reaching out to someone she said "Kiddo...Are you fine?
A petite girl was helped by the lady who still looked worried. As she rose, Om was struck by the sight. There she was, a beauty dancing at the edge of clumsiness, and she then voiced out his mind's voice for all to hear in her warm voice again. "I'm okay... Just being the clumsy me she assured with a giggle that was so contagious that it made the little one laugh.
The lady looked back at the kid and then at her Kiddo. A silence followed and then Kiddo continued "Will be sending them in a bit and Sorry
"Take care mumbled the lady to her Kiddo and with a curt nod towards Om she passed them.
The petite girl just nodded with a smile. Turning to the duo who had been watching on without an inkling, she apologized. "Sorry for all that... let's get on with your registration shall we? When there wasn't any reply she looked up "Sorry, I'm the organizer of this ballet class at this summer camp. So if you could give me your details I could just get the formalities done in a jiffy.
Seeing that her Omie wore an expression of being struck by a lightning, the little one took the lead, "The name's Anshika
"Anshika Singh Oberoi? enquired the organiser, as she fished out the details from the former application.
"Yes, but I prefer being called by my first name, replied Anshika looking at her partner who smilled back at her. She had definitely got his philosophy when it came to Naam Khoon Khandaan.
"Guess you will be addressed by your last name here during the sessions as Ms. Mackenzie - your ballet instructor loves it that way, informed the organizer.
"Oh... Okay, she mumbled in dismay and it didn't go down well with the two grown-ups present there.
"Hey munchkin, don't be disheartened. I love your name. Anshika, that's one name I would give my feet for. I totally agree that family names- are overrated, that's just what you are a part of- it can never define you. And I will be calling you Anshika if that helps offered the organizer. For reasons known, those words warmed the hearts of a certain long haired man and the little one he held on to.
"She's so like you... I like her already... unless you fall in love with her whispered the little one to her long haired uncle, mirthfully grinning from ear to ear.
"Should I be worried of being ranked down in your like list? he whispered back.
"Maybe... She said teasingly earning a fake blow in her tummy by him.
"Sorry to intrude but you really wouldn't want to glide in late at Ms. Mackenzie's classes the organizer informed showing the little girl her way.
"Is she the dragon lady who went pass us now? Anshika sounded worried.
"Sweetheart I wouldn't call her so. She's the best ballet instructor you can ever get. She is a darling once you come to know her. Just don't be late, was all the assurance she needed.
"Would you like to have her as your instructor? The little one asked.
"I would give my foot for her, she said tapping her foot. Her heels made a profound sound making the little girl smile. "So shall we? enquired the organizer holding her hand out for Anshika which she held on to.
Nodding at the assurance and looking back at her uncle, she blew a flying kiss which he skillfully caught mid-air and placed it in his pocket right beside his heart. Waving at her, he stood there till she entered the class with the organizer both talking incandescently.

He was walking to and fro in the lounge for the past 10 minutes, when the mellifluous voice queried "Anything bothering you Mr. Oberoi
"Please call me Om he insisted.
Like father like daughter she thought and smiled.
"Is anything bothering you Om? If its Anshika, well it's just going to be an orientation today, more like an icebreaker and I'm sure she'll do fine, she informed.
"Oh she'll be fine, just that... he trailed on. Her eyebrows knit together as if twinning his eyebrows that had made the frown on his face so visible.
It only when he saw his reflection in her face that he remembered he hadn't answered her. "Just that this is the first summer vacation where she isn't going to be with me
"It's a matter of six hours Om and it would just fly away, and she is heading home after this so there's no need to worry. She is in the safest of hands she assured him but could see the assurance being of no use.
"I know... Can I just stay till she finishes her session is done for the day? Please. Now that was such a heartfelt request that she couldn't deny.
"You would have to wait here in the waiting lounge then. Parents and guardians aren't allowed while the session is in progress. She tried working her way around the rules.
"It's Ok. I'll be fine here. Thanks... and that's when he realized he hadn't asked her name and then remembered Ms Mackenzie calling her Kiddo. Now that couldn't be her name, could it?
"Well that name is only reserved for Ms Mackenzie. You can call me Ri she answered as if knowing his thoughts and smiled one of her warm smiles.
"Thank You Ri he called out loud at her retreating figure.
"Pleasure is mine and You would have done the same for me she said without turning back, as her heels made the same profound sound as she walked back to the sessions, her long skirt swaying to her peculiar gait.
That was a weird reply to a thank you. What did she mean by it? Making a mental note of asking her when he would meet her next he reached out for his pocket sketchbook that he usually carried with him, sketching Ashika's twirls from the morning moments.
