Actually I adore GKS but what many people probably don't know is that Omkara (the original version) is one I'll have as my favourite male fictional character on Indian TV. This guy is literal goals... I could discuss him for days...(I actually adore both of them...but in Omkara's case , obviously the initial one. He had too many layers and was a person with real problems. Inspite of which he tried to see the positivity around ...God I miss him so much !)I've actually always related Gauri's situation with this song and you provided the perfect opportunity so thank you, really! 😛 ( It was my pleasure to watch RiKara on this !! )

Do u remember Omkara saying to Gauri that he knew jealousy? I rewatched all these scenes that day trying to identify that feeling and it's apparent if you look for it... Kunal and Atif utilised Omkara's anger perfectly and also left it open to interpretation... they're both amazing - the real dream team.
(Yes I do remember and frankly I was not much confused with why he said that. I felt that the first time he'd seen her , he kinda liked her honesty. Soon MUs came up and he hated her more maybe because he actually had a good image of her at first ? Maybe . Everytime he saw her with Kaali , I felt more than the anger , there was disappointment and a bit of jealousy ...and thay jealousy came out well during Arjun and Ajay track...You showed it perfectly !👏)

That was a heart wrenching write up there and the VM was a poetic justice to every word you have written in there. Words fail me and so I leave behind some words down here that I penned long ago for some other forum which dealt with the issue of Woman trafficking.

The poem below may contain a few words that may sound harsh, but the use of the same has been done to provide the impetus that an article then and the VM now had on me. The use of the names of the deity from the epics stands as a metaphor to the female population and I have no intention to hurt anyone's belief or feelings (being God loving myself). Since it is a compilation of Hindi and Urdu words I have translated a few of them at the end of the poem to the best of my knowledge.

This poem goes out to all those Shahzadis (on whom the DH article was written years back)...who yearn to break free.

Bazaar mein hua neelaam, ek haseen khwaab

Haivaaniyat ki nazoron mein, bas ek shabaab;

I really loved this... it was so intricately and beautifully put together. Thank you so much for sharing it here. A tragedy that something as personal and sacred as a dream was up for sale... that it could be bid for... but this is common practice in a misogynistic society... no?

A very powerful title... and a heartbreaking subject matter... In the eyes of a monster, all purety is lost... the most sacred of things tarnished for meaningless entertainment... The use of phir is very powerful here... it speaks of the regularity of the event and makes us again question the society we belong to... Heartbreaking on every level... the destruction of hopes and dreams... the loss of purpose... losing the future... life losing its appeal as something is stolen... as the harsh reality sets in... The suffering of one at the hands of those who take pleasure from it... a bitter 'sharaab' it is... is it weird that my mind flies straight to 'Awari'?
