Omkara Singh Oberoi, son of the millionaire Mr Tej Singh Oberoi. People would think how beautiful and satisfied his life would be, but the reality was way apart. A father who has a mistress, a mother who has a habit of getting drunk badly, a small brother and a little sister who he had to take care of was all he got from his what people call a perfect life.
He didn't had anyone to talk and tell about himself so his only way of expressing were his paintings. He would talk to his colours, he would care for his paint brushes, he would love his canvas because the only place that kept him holding was this.
He at this small age of twenty, knew what life actually was. He could easily fake it like a bed of roses where it was and just thorns which provides pain and hurt. Something that no one would want to share, something that no one would like to take. He knew he has to handle it by himself all his life and that was what his destiny had.
He looked towards the sky where the moon was without his brightness "aaj toh tum bhi mere jaise ho, apni chandni ke bina, akele he smiled. "Tumhare paas toh tumhari chandani aa jayegi, main toh kal bhi akela tha, ajj bhi akela hi hoon, aur shayad kal bhi rahunga he smile reduced. The cold breeze hits his face kissing every inch is his warm face. He deeply inhaled the scent in the atmosphere which gave him the sight of something which immediate brought his smile back.
He went back to his canvas trying to concentrate on what he wanted to make. Colours and brushes went painting the way his hands went to. Just like always letting his heart control his hands he swiftly pulled and pushed them on the canvas. He never failed to enhance his paintings by giving it the touch of his fingers. The more they had colours the more good he felt.
He rubbed, dragged, pushed, cleaned and did everything to make this piece of his the perfect one. Perfect because he had already imagined the perfection his eyes saw when they were shut. He tried his best to make the most beautiful orbs, the lips cured into a charming smile, the cheeks blushed rose red and the face as perfect as an angel would look.
"Beautiful he heard his brother speaking beside him "who is she O?. "Fille de reve he smiled.
She was sitting on the chair outside her house inhaling the same evening scent as her lips cured in to a beautiful smile. Looking at the moon she saw it without it's brightness "areey Chand aapki chandni kahan chali gayi? she asked as her palm too cured into a question pose.
"Kahin nahi she heard a male voice which made her jump. "Chaandji, aap bole kya? he asked cutely. The voice laughed as she turned to find a male tiger standing near him. "Bauji she ran to him and hugged him by his waist. "Toh yahan kya kar rahi hai chirraiya? he asked as he turned to sit and made her sit beside him. "Bas chaand se baatein kar rahe the she answered turning to the moon.
"Pata hai har Purnima ke baad chaand chota kyun hone lagta hai? her attention drew towards her father. "Kyun bauji she asked. "Kyunki Meri chirraiya, voh inn dino apni Rohini se door hone lagta hai
"Kaun Rohini papa? she questioned again, curious to know the answer. "Rohini means to rise or to bring into existence. She is the reason that when after the amawasya Chand returns to her then during these fifteen days time uski chamak wapis aa jati hai he answered.
"Par eisa kyun the questions in her mind seemed to have no answers. "Kyunki beta Rohini is the one who gives the existence to him. Chaand amavasya tak sirf usse apne sapno mein hi dekh pata hai he answered back. "Toh Rohini chaandji ki dreamgirl hai? he asked to the moon. "Haan Rohini chaandji ki dreamgirl hi hai her father replied.
Par bauji Chaand is soo big, he is a God himself. Toh voh kyun humesha apni Rohini ke paas nahi rehte? a sudden question popped out as her father smiled again.
'Samay aur kismat ke aage kisi ka zor nahi chalta beta. Galtiyan toh chaand nein bhi ki hain, aur unn logon nein bhi jinhone inhe alag kiya he answered.
"Chaand se galtiyan, but how can he commit mistakes? she faced her father. "Chaand se bhi galtiyan huin hai beta he smiled. "Kuch eisi galatiyan jinko koi kabhi sudhar nahi sakta he answered back.
Mistakes are made by humans that was what she had learned from her school. But mistakes by the God was something she never thought she would hear. Something that left nothing but confusion. If he made the mistake then why was Rohini still with him? If he was wrong and he himself did something that pushed her away than why did she come back?.
"She never left him because she loved him more than anything that anyone could give her. She knew that she was his soul, his love, his reason to shine and she came because she knew that she was not the only one who would suffer but many lives will and most importantly her love till the eternity will never find peace her questions were answered even before she could ask them.
"Par bauji, why did chaand need her? He is the Lord, he has powers, he could shine also by his own she shrugged as a matter of fact. "Chirraiya, Chand can only shine when he is satisfied, when he is happy. And happiness lies in love. He cannot shine when his love will not be there with him. Even if he is the Lord, he cannot change his heart he answered.
"How can anybody love anyone this much? she again asked to the moon. "Love needs no explanation my dear. All it needs is trust and in return it gives you life as a present his father answered making her smile.
He was still watching the painting he just made. He didn't know where did he saw this girl but something was there which made a sudden connection to his heart. Her eyes had the sparkle, her smile had beauty and her face had life. "Bas sapna hai he shook her head and covered the canvas as he left the room smiling.
