Ahh..Om's dialogues!! It was the best I heard in the recent times. I will prefer these dialogues over any cheesy romantic lines.

Loved ur analysis❤️ Undeniably, Om has certain traits which makes him an ideal husband. But sadly, those good ones are overshadowed by inconsistent writing. If only, they had stick to his original characterisation, he, for sure would be desirable.

Wow, you've written an essay!😊 - Let me try to respond in kind😆.

Personally, I feel like the writers failed at developing Om's character during the hit-and-run track. That track could have been the turning in his character to step out of the defeatist mold and overcome his pain. I was looking forward to him admitting the truth and coming to terms with his demons. I still have no idea why the CVS ended that track abruptly, but I have to terms with the inconsistent writing a long time ago. Hit-and-run was another wasted opportunity... a drop in an ever-growing ocean when it comes to Omkara and even RiKara. The CVs tend to focus on the same thing as if it is rinse and repeat... and it's not working for them but they'll stick with it regardless, what can we do? Inconsistency is actually the biggest theme of the show - not the love stories and not brothers.

What bothers me about Om's character is how easily the CVS give up on him and how quickly fans turn on him. During the hit-and-run track, I remember being so disappointed with the posts on IF and comments on twitter from Om fans calling him weak. His drug addiction was a manifestation of his guilt and people handle guilt in different ways that doesn't make him weak. Some fans wanted him to be the hero to expose ACP ranveer and save Prinku, but I wanted to see him overcome his past demons then grow as a character. The fact is using drugs as a coping mechanism was his choice, and him quitting was also his choice. The guilt and the constant mental torture with the photo of the child leading him back to drugs made perfect sense to me. He is human so he can succumb to his guilt. It's a shame the track wasn't TRP friendly because it would have been amazing to see him saving himself from himself.
Omkara's character is not conventional by any means so I feel as though his fans are a confused sort - we all seem to love him for different reasons. There are the ones who find fault in his every move - these are the poor souls who keep him on an impossible platform that any man would and (to maintain a semblance of realism) should fall off. There are the one's like me who see his potential and identify exactly where his character is manipulated to suit the means of others - I like to think we are more reasonable as we recognise he may not be perfect, but he is not like what he is sometimes portrayed as. Lastly there are the ones who try to justify his every move - if he's human he will make mistakes, we should not turn a blind eye to it. I will say that 'weak' is not a word I would ever personally associate with Omkara. Even when i am mad as his behaviour is bad and with the 'three g's' he called Gauri, I will say that he is not a weak man... I will maintain that he is a man in agony. It does not excuse his actions, but it does give them a new meaning. Unfortunately we get very little of his POV and he will never be shown to save himself in this show.

During DBO, he was turned in angry young man, but his actions didn't make any sense like you mentioned. Bringing in another abused and neglected wife (also called Jhanvi) could have been an interesting premise if he actually bonded with her. For those who watched since the beginning of IB know that is his original character sketch. He cares for people and finds a way to connect with them. He was attuned with other people's pain and had faith in humanity despite his upbringing. Sadly, all we got a fiery death and that was it. I can justify the change in him - it was not the best executed and we could have used a little more POV from him, but I feel that had more to do with how little he was given in IB to show his turmoil after Jhanvi's fire-incident. What I can't justify is that it's not been addressed now... it's a true shame.

After the merge, Rikara's entire story was rushed and all over the place. It's a rush or nothing at all. There is no in-between for their characters or story. I wanted to see him struggling with sharing his space because of his commitment issues and Gauri being comfortable enough share about her life. I realized the problem is I was expecting Om and Chulbul's adorable friendship to the be the foundation for their love story, but CVS seem to have forgotten about that. How amazing would that have been? - rhetorical question we will never know the answer to. Definitely we have not been allotted the time needed to explore RiKara sufficiently and it is a crying shame. Wasted potential all round here. the conflict of the man who could not commit and the girl who had already committed everything to him was hardly touched upon and the only hints of it were damaging to Omkara's character rather than shedding any light on it. Suddenly he faced backlash from all sides - perhaps a bit from mine for a split-second too - because he was hurting her in his un-explained avoidance. Not everyone has an understanding of his character deep enough to conclude that he was not being a jerk, rather he was battling within himself. ChulKara is again something wasted and another true shame - that was the bhoomika on which they could have slowly built something unshakeable, but it's like that chapter of their lives has been erased.

Om had a romantic relationship, but this should be all new to Gauri so the sudden comfortable level was perplexing. It's an unpopular opinion, but I'm glad that cheek kiss was edited out. Yes, they look beyond adorable together, but I want to see the little moments that lead up to that comfortable level. Sadly, the CVS didn't seem to be interested in building a foundation for their relationship at all. Friendship to love would have been adorable. I have no expectations, but I still want what little development they get to have a foundation. I'm not going to lie, I'm looking forward to the party fiasco because I always wanted Tej to go after Gauri in DBO. Just to be clear, I don't want to see her ridiculed or mocked, but because Tej has a way waking up a side of Om we rarely get to see. In terms of character sketch, Tej should be unhappy because Gauri doesn't bring anything to table whether it's money, connections, or business prospects. This is the same man that tried to sell Om to the highest bidder. I have accepted there will be no build-up and we will get no repeat first-kiss. just because it wasn't shown does not mean it is not done. We just have to assume that they are at that level now. There is no sincerity in the handling of either Ri or Kara, so waiting for a gradual build is completely futile - it won't happen in this life-time. DBO was completely different, I cannot trust what Omkara will do in IB. Omkara here has to be forced to chase after her - where is the guy who married her on impulse? There is unfortunately no method to this particular madness I'm afraid. I wanted TejKara conflict over Gauri, but lately I have begun to dread it as I fear Omkara will never be allowed to be seen as independent again.

Om standing up for Gauri in terms of IB isn't shocking, but Om standing up for Gauri with DBO in mind is a completely different story. For me, this is a milestone in their relationship and indicates the faith he had in humanity that was lost is slowly making it's way back to the forefront. He is being protective and shielding Gauri, which is a treat to watch. I want to see more this side of him, but I'm not holding my breath. From IB to DBO, my motto is the lower the expectations, the less disappointment. Alternatively from DBO to IB I have learnt to have no expectations at all as they will be crushed horrendously, unfortunately I cannot stop hoping for the emergence of the Omkara that was initially there... so I guess I will remain disappointed but hopeful.😊

Thanks for sharing your intricate thoughts😊.

But the makers failed miserably to show a proper luv story for Rikara but as u all hv said shrenal are the saving grace.

Gauri has done a lot for Om and now its payback time for Om

Thanks for reading it!!!! Rushed is an understatement but used to it by now.

ShreNal are definitely the saving graces😊.

Waiting for a conversation I know will never arrive...😭 - wish we could get real RiKara.

But om tia scene was indeed powerful👍🏼though shrenal seems not interested with this show off late...these type of scenes are the only saving grace.

I hate clowns so FF-ed a LOT.

Omkara was powerful in that scene and TBH who could blame them for lack of interest when they are barely utilised... ShreNal are still the saving grace though😊.
