My theory : Abhay is Roop's son. Roop though being an Oberoi was disowned because of her greedy nature and may be because she chose a shady husband. She did not get the Oberoi money and that is why she had set out to destroy her brothers. From a very tender age Abhay has been moulded to think that his rightful property,money,fame,recognition has been snatched by the Oberois and so he plans to destroy them using Shivaay who is the very foundation of the Oberoi group and family. But sadly, like all adversaries of the Oberois he has underestimated the power of Shivaay + Annika = Shivika. He had an inkling; that is why he is doing his best to keep them apart by planting Tanya but as I oft repeat he does not know the very depth of Shivika relationship : Shivaay is the great wall and the foundation of the great wall is Annika !!
