Perks of Being a Jealous Billu
Shivaay kept his eyes fixed on Annika as she laughed away at a joke that stupid bloke had just told her.Okay fine, maybe he wasn't so stupid as Shivaay knew that he had only recently won the Best Emerging Businessman of the year. Shivaay had also praised him for the new technological company he had built up that would provide internet access to start-up companies for free. But that was all before this particular man had decided to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Oberoi Groups being held at the Oberoi Mansion's lavish lawns, and had shamelessly started flirting with Shivaay's wedding planner. What a moron, that guy was.
Still staring, Shivaay picked up a glass of cold drink from a tray a waiter was carrying nearby, only to almost spit it out. That boy had just held Annika's hand.
How. Dare .He.
Carelessly putting away his glass, Shivaay strode over to where they were standing
Annika looked beautiful in a long peach suit, the overhead lanterns casting golden hues on her flawless skin. Shivaay could have stared at her all night, but right now, he had to show that stupid Rahul or Raj or whatever his name was, that she belonged to him.
His careful mind didn't even argue with his careless heart this time.
Reaching them, Shivaay not-so-subtly slid his arm around her waist, catching her off-guard and making her face turn red. He smirked seeing the effect he had on her, and it increased ten folds when he noticed that Mr. Moron was looking at them sceptically, mouth set tight and eyes holding something akin to jealousy.
"Oh, I didn't see you there... Rajiv, right?" Shivaay addressed him as disdainfully as possible.
"Rohit," he replied with a small, strained smile.
"I see you've met Annika?" Shivaay continued, looking at Annika, who was fiddling with her hands, breath coming out uneven at his proximity. She couldn't for the life of her figure out what was wrong with him.
"Oh, of course," Rohit said, turning to look at Annika himself. Shivaay could have ripped his eyes out. His hand tightened on Annika's waist.
"She's your wedding planner, isn't she?" Rohit asked grimly, looking at where Shivaay's hand lay on her waist possessively.
"Oh, she's much more than that." Shivaay's eyes held something deep, and it made Annika shudder. What did he mean?
Rohit cleared his throat. He was beyond confused. Wasn't this man supposed to be engaged? Why was he hell bound on ruining his time with gorgeous Ms. Annika?
"Anyway, I better get going," Rohit said, suddenly feeling out of place, since Shivaay and Annika had now become immersed in an intense eye-lock.
"Yeah, you better," Shivaay replied in a low voice, not moving his eyes from Annika's hazel ones. Rohit scurried away, bummed at not being able to talk to Annika for longer, or maybe get her number.
When he was gone, Shivaay reluctantly pulled away his hand from her waist. He didn't want to, but if the media people saw them, they would create a ruckus. He didn't want that, atleast not before he had broken off his engagement.
"You, um, you look beautiful." Shivaay told her, suddenly feeling nervous like he was a teenager with a crush. Annika's cheeks turned pink once again, making him feel elated.
"Thank you," She replied timidly, looking down. Shivaay grinned- this was entirely new, seeing his tadibaaz girl acting all shy.
"I should get going. Enjoy yourself, okay?" He said, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. Annika nodded, not being able to form a coherent reply. She was just pondering over what had suddenly gotten into the baggad billa, when, without warning, he swooped down and placed a sloppy kiss on her cheek. Annika gasped at the sudden act, raising her hand to touch the wet spot, while Shivaay grinned sheepishly, running a hand through his hair. He then walked away without any explanation, all the while thinking that he needed to make a big investment in Mr. Rohit's company, for unknowingly helping his stupid mind realize what his heart had long ago- he was madly in love with his sassy, sexy, and khidkitod wedding planner.
