Part 10
The next day was the Sangeet function at the Oberoi house. A neighbour and close family friend of the Oberoi family had come down to London today for the functions and wedding; they were very close and almost the only family they had. The function was taking place during the evening but the Kapoor family was there a little earlier; Malika and Anika sat in the living room while preparations were taking place, then Siddharth came down and sat in the living room with Malika.
Anika: Main abhi ayi... - excusing herself from the room and leaving the love birds alone for a while
Malika: Where are you going?
Anika: Kebab main haadi nahi banna chahti... - smiling sweetly at Siddharth
Malika became shy as Anika walked out of the room and left her alone with Siddharth. Now that they were alone Siddharth looked at Malika for a long while and then finally broke the silence.
Siddharth: Aaj tum bohot achi lag rahi ho...
Malika: Thanks... - very shy
Anika went into the kitchen where she witnessed Shivaay talking to an older lady.
Shivaay: Abhi bhi naraz hain mujhse?
Aunty: Bohot...I tried very hard to make her understand...par tum usse janti ho na...
Shivaay: Haan...bohot ziddi hain... - smiling then becomes serious again - ...but...its not my fault...
Aunty: Jaanti hoon beta...tum fikar mat kar...waqt ke saath woh samaj jayegi...don't worry about it...
Pinky walked into the kitchen carrying a tray but she stopped when she saw Anika standing at the door.
Pinky: Anika beta...kya huwa...
Shivaay and the Aunty looked over at the door to where they were standing.
Anika: Kuch nahi aunty...main bas... - takes the tray from Pinky with a smile ...madat karne ayi thi...agar kuch bhi kaam hai toh mujhe bata dena...where should I put this?
Pinky: Tum toh mehman hain yahan pe...jake aram karle...hum karenge...aur Shivaay hain na...woh madat karega... looked at Shivaay who was chilling, eating a banana and listening to their conversation
Anika: Its okay aunty I'll do it...waise bhi main wahan pe bored ho rahi thi isliye main yahan par agayi...yeh kahan raku?
Pinky: Table par raklo... - looks at Shivaay ...kuch seek...
Aunty: Kitni pyari bachi hain... - looking at Anika
Shivaay: Ayi aap bhi? looking over at her in shock - ...Pyaari nahi pagal hain...pagal kaane se bhaag ke ayi hain...sab ka dimag khati hain...aap bhi bachke rehna...
Anika: Kya kaha tumne?? - shocked she puts her hands on her hips
Shivaay threw a kitchen towel at her and ran out of the kitchen making Anika run after him. They played chase around the house until Anika gave up as she couldn't catch him or hit him but Shivaay kept throwing stuff at her and she became frustrated. She finally gave up and went back to Malika and Siddharth; Shivaay also came there to tease her.
Later on in the evening the gang and other close friends of the Kapoor family who had become close to the Oberoi's since the engagement had arrived and the gang had decided to play Antakshri. They decided to play this game after the girls had won the toss. The girls sat on one sofa and the boys sat opposite them on another sofa; the girls started the game.
Gauri: Mere Haathon Mein Nau-nau Choodiyaan Hain...Thodaa Thahro Sajan Majbooriyaan Hain...
Omkara: Ha...guys c'mon...- guys are all thinking of a song
Shivaay: Happy Happy Happy Happy days are here again...Happy days are here again...

The guys were all thinking of a song taking their time.

While Anika was singing Shivaay was unable to focus on anything else but her. This was the first time he had really looked at her properly, he had always thought that she was quite pretty from the first day he had met her in the Maths class but today it was different. Today he actually thought she looked beautiful, it was like he could actually see her in a different angle, her beauty, her sensitivity, her childishness and her very sweet nature. When she had finished singing he didn't even hear the last letter of the song but carried on with the game singing...

Everyone was shocked at her beautiful voice and praised her then they carried on with their game. The boys couldn't think of a song beginning with S and they took their time.

All the girls clapped and laughed at him making him stop and turn to them with a quizzical look.
Shivaay: Kya?? - confused
Anika: Yeh gaana yahan se shuru nahi hota hai...
Gauri: Aur yeh shaadi ke gaana nahi hain...so boo losers!!!
Bhavya: Yess!! We won!
Shivaay: That's not fair...there was no theme...
Anika: It's a sangeet ceremony...obviously meaning we're singing shaadi song...so get over it...you lost... - sticking her tongue out at him
The three girls stood up to left the room and Shivaay went after them.
Shivaay: That's cheating...
Bhavya: Losers!!
Anika walked into the next room with Gauri and Bhavya at her two sides while Shivaay followed her; he began to sing the song from Kuch Na Kaho.

Anika completely ignored him and walked towards Malika and singing the song from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.

Shivaay walked up behind her and they were about to start fighting again when out of nowhere Siddharth walked in between the two and held onto Malika's hand and began to sing...

The gang followed them outside, Gauri and Omkara and Rudra and Bhavya danced in couples while Anika and Shivaay danced at the side on their own but Shivaay kept sneaking looks at Anika.

Siddharth and Malika danced quite close and they become so lost in their own world; it's a very sweet moment.

They had both snapped back to reality when everyone started clapping. The girls were all standing on one side and the boys on one side, and then Omkara started to sing...

While the gang were dancing Siddharth and Malika had settled down on chairs in the patio area and are watching them having fun. Then Saakshi walked towards Malika, looked at her and sang...

Saakshi and Anika hugged Malika and the atmosphere becomes very calm. Then Siddharth and Shivaay walk around them and started singing with all the boys.

Siddharth pulled Malika onto the grass area while Shivaay helped Saakshi and left Anika standing there fuming, everyone danced to the chorus, Anika stood there watching until Shakti and Pinky walked up behind her and told her to go and dance, she smiled and pulled them onto the dance floor with her.

That evening everyone had lots of fun; they had dinner after a while and again more dance and masti then the guest and the Kapoor family left a little early as the next day was the shaadi and the girls needed their beauty sleep.
