I'm finally in love with the flow they have taken with respect to Shivika's track.. finally they are in their elements.. talking through their banter and then even opening up about how they felt being let down by the other.. 😊
Yep! a healthy start ... they are upset and hurt by what the other did but hold no grudges against the other ... that is the positive bit
Besties who have felt that they were let down kinda attitude and that is very healthy ... they still have each others back, though of course, at face value they are not accepting it ..lol 😉 typical married couple who are in love
I really did hope that the date conversation would be longer..but they asked the right questions and blurted out their hurt feelings.. "Rishta tum bh todna chahti thi..isiliye tumne woh sab kiya.." Shivaay was so hurt that she ruined everything in one day by doing all those things and saying all those words.. he has been keeping that hurt inside him for so long.. we could see his frustration that it took her just one day to ruin their relationship.. " I can't forget what you did..what you said about my brothers.."
True ... and the dork has not yet realized and clued in that the same brothers are on her side more than his inspite of what she said/did to them ..lol 😆
"haath chod !!! Bhabhi ka haath chood!!" was more a stern warning from Om than a request that he keep his distance from her so that he does not end up hurting her feelings again
Gosh! Om can command such a presence sometimes ... Kunal is doing a fantastic job after his return from the Spin off
And Annika's response to that was so beautiful.. she did not twist the words or anything..she went right to the point.. "And you remembered only that one day..you forgot our entire relationship? Everything that I did before that..? Even I cannot forget how you threw me out of the house"
Stick to the truth ... I did say that ..lol
Nothing healthier for the human soul than that. And in a marriage that is harder to digest but easier to hold on to as time goes by
This is important as Annika has moved to a stage in her relationship where Shivvay is a real man - flesh and blood. He is no longer the untouchable sitting on that elevated mountain top where the God's reside. Her Pati is just that - a Pati not Parmeshwar to figure out things automatically just because they are out there laid before him.
He has weaknesses, is blind in some aspects, has faults and falters. In short - he is human like her not perfect or better.
I remember telling someone this (sorry can't remember who) that after marriage Annika has always treated Shivvay less as an equal as more as a superior. We all made those mistakes I am sure after marriage/in a new relationship assuming our husbands thought just as we did about things and situations. But the men are from Mars and women are from Venus theory still stands today.
That is what Annika was addressing when they were eating ice cream. She as making sure the other two did not make the same mistakes that she had done.
Shivvay became all important. Everything and all things were Shivvay. Her day started with him and ended with him almost to a point of being a kinda devotee or disciple. Annika forgot that SHE existed and that she mattered as well. In her bid to keep him safe, happy and comfortable she did not realize that she was being false to herself.
"To Thine Own Self Be True" are words that came to mind everytime I watched Annika ignore, brush off or over look the things that hurt her feelings, self-esteem and pride. She was not doing that because that was her true nature, she was doing it in a bid to be the perfect wife and DIL. As many said she turned into Gopi Bahu from the Dabaang Annika after she married him. Which of course did not mean we wanted her to yell and scream the OM down but she should have made sure that she spoke up just as she is doing now with both Mother and Son and made a stand as is her nature.
This is the Annika we know now. This is the Annika who is 'True' to herself and hence for me this is stage 2 in the marriage where Shivvay is getting to know the 'Real' Annika, not the compromising and sacrificing one. In a marriage and in love the foundation cannot be compromise because that is not being true to yourself - that is being false.
His statement about not knowing her and hence not knowing what she says is bang on! Who is the real Annika he asks - that one I was married to 3 months ago or this one here. Everyone says Billu is confused but if you look closely you will understand where his confusion stems from. That does not absolve him of his sins of course, far from it.
It was so heart wrenching to listen to those hurt feelings from both sides and then they went back to what they had been doing..playing cupid to their younger ones.. And that is how married couples solve their issues. We do not have the luxury of putting our lives on hold while we sort our issues, we do it while we live our normal lives and go about our everyday jobs... lol They are doing the same... 😉
I'm glad it is all out in the open.. Shivaay definitely knows what she did whatever she did bcoz she wanted to leave..and that is what has hurt him.. he knows she isnt like that.. but she wanted to leave him adn that hurt him a lot.. and well Annika is hurt that he remembers just that one day and judged her based on that alone..forgetting everything they had been through..
I think he is more upset that she changed on him in the span of a few hours. She suddenly became this woman he could not relate to and he is struggling to understand why.
Annika is hurt that he does not remember the sacrificing and compromising girl she had turned into in order to please him and fit his mold, he only remembers the last day and the selfish (but truth speaking) Annika.
For months after their marriage she slowly and steadily became this pleasing, adjusting and mild mannered Annika. The perfect wife and perfect Bahu he coined her I believe.
That was enough to turn this girl into a 2.0 version of Gopi Bahu' because she now could not let her husband down and disappoint him.
Annika's BIG Mistake!! Turning into a perfect bahu/wife is not done by compromising on your dignity and your self respect.
He prepared a mold, an image of her, that he put forward to her as to what he coined as perfect wife and perfect bahu and she felt trapped that she now had to live up to that image. He set new standards as to what Annika was and she complied. She never once thought to set those fact straight and let him know that 'This' what he saw was the real one not the one he was conjuring up in his head.
In time, she forgot who she was and what she was in a bid to live that image and that became the lava that began to bubble under the surface everytime she was insulted, demeaned and made to feel inferior as his wife. Time and again it was thrown in her face that he was the prize catch while she was a no body. Never once did the man refute that as far as I can remember and if he has please feel free to remind me.
And that was Shivvay's Big Mistake'... he let these issues that should have been addressed and nipped in the bud, slide without putting up a strong wall around her and protecting her from it.
I am quite sure that we will see him address these as the days go by and hence I will not waste time on saying how he should have addressed them.
That is what I was trying to explain when I said that she should be honest and tell him the truth. The truth about their marriage and where she felt he failed not Pinky's truth or the illegitimacy truth. That is not her concern and not her truth to tell. I know people were asking me how can she do one without the other two and this is exactly how it is done how the writers are showing it.
Annika leaving Shivvay was brought about by Pinky but Pinky only worked on the weaknesses that were already there in Shivvay and Annika. It may sound a bit complicated but have to look at this without the other 2 equations and just as a husband-wife spat if we want to see just her addressing the marriage equation' truth.
The cracks were already there in this marriage built on compromise and false images.
Annika's issues, insecurities and fear of abandonment (because of which she became this over pleasing and ever adjusting person, fearful that one wrong word/ move and she would lose Shivvay), while Shivvay's weakness was that as much as he loves Annika he buries his head in the sand when it comes to facing the stark truths that she places before him about people with NKK. Also, her NKK does not matter he says, but in reality it does when pitted against the people who were born within his circle and have NKK. She always falls short when compared to them.
His admonishments and rebukes aise khaoo, what's that language, etc etc are proof that he still has issues about certain things she does. But those ARE the things that make Annika who she is and he has to realise that it is what made him fall for Annika in the first place. She is devoid of pretenses and airs that ring false that people from his world hide behind.
She is what he sees nothing more or less. No hidden agendas or motives. She is as clear as crystal and that is what is loveable about her and makes his brothers trust her. Annika is steady as the North Star. She does not flip or change she is predictable in her qualities.
His attitude made her want to change and adapt while killing her true self and that is not healthy in a marriage. She has told him that no matter what you find out about me if you dig into my past I will always remain who I am, "Just Annika'. You get what you see but in reality she WAS in fact turning into this girl with zilch self-esteem and zilch confidence because she felt that he did not like what he saw.
His issues with her lack of NKK and his need of his NKK coupled with his mother's incessant taunts and insults led to her becoming a mere shadow of her former self.
Pinky was just astute enough to make sure that she worked only on those cracks. Anyone else in Pinky's place could have / can still do the very same!!!
That is where ShivIka need to work from now.
Annika has seen the real Shivvay and experienced the flawed one once again and I am hoping she has learned something from that. And it is exactly why she needs to be the real Annika the one we knew from episode one who does not wait for Shivvay to step in if her self-esteem and pride are challenged she is very capable of being her own Hero' and fighting her own battles of he falls mute because it is only in doing that will he be able to back her up. Shivvay cannot fight her battles for her as a bahu and wife he can be her shield and support while she does it. Fighting for it is still very much in her hands.
The look and body language when he walked off after she proclaimed she was owner of OM, blatantly ignoring his mother's complaints and pleas as if they were falling on deaf ears... that is what Shivvay can do but only if Annika fights for what she feels is truly hers.
Shivvay for his part needs to lose his horse blinders' ..lol could not resist the image
I don't think I need to elaborate further ... NKK straight ahead at 12o'clock 🤣 🤣
