So our doubts were confirmed today.
We always knew he felt her when she was around but we were unsure if he watched her as well all these months and now we know for sure he did. What were those reasons for watching her we are not yet sure about but what we are sure about is that he cannot let her go even though she has reduced him to the shell of the former man he was.
She was, is and will be a part of him and that is what we need him to feel for where there is love it will find a way to come to it's realization.
I will destroy everything that reminds me of you he said and if that is the case he will have to start with himself and he has from what I see. Shivvay is on the path of self-destruction and the faster someone brings this to Annika's attention the better. But he will actually destroy her to erase his memory of her is something I fail to believe. It would be easier for him to destroy himself than to destroy her.
So here we have them standing at the crucial point of their life
Shivvay who has never suffered love, loss, sorrow and loneliness ever in his life has to work this out with Annika who has never experienced love, gain, happiness and being No.1 to someone in her life.
Notice how they all cancel each other??!!
Shivvay may never have experienced loss, sorrow and loneliness and does not know how to deal with that right now but he has one thing going for him He is an old Veteran at Love.
He knows how to love as wide as the sky and as deep as the sea and hold on to the people he loves. His most beautiful and endearing quality is his steadfastness in love and his tenacity to never give up on the people he loves.
After he has worked things out within himself, he will emerge as her protector because that is what the tree does (that he said he was) if of course his character remains what the CV's have written him to be now.
The man who says, " Mein Saab theek kar dunga" to everyone has to actually take the time and effort to straighten things out in his life for the first time. He has to take time out for himself and figure out which situation needs handling when.
He has to now prioritize his tasks and stop just following instructions from the elders about which 'crisis situation' needs fixing right now and simply react to that (the Nagini situation for eg). And from what I see he already doing that.
He is doing what Om had always asked him to do - live his life for himself at least sometimes and not sacrifice at the Family altar all the time.
This time spent alone has somehow made him slow down his pace. Why needs to be shown. He is more relaxed and less uptight about how his image appears to the media. Again, what has changed to bring that about needs to be shown. He does not jump to every order from Pinky and is not falling for her OTT reactions to all things SHE deems as important. He actually listens, processes and sifts the information at his own pace. How did this transformation come about needs to be shown.
Annika on the other hand is an Old Veteran at loss, sorrow and loneliness but she has anxiety issues when she is faced with a lot of love and pampering. She does not believe love is for her and that she actually deserves a shot at a "Happy Ever After. Hence the decision to ruin her happiness at her own hands and avoid the disillusionment of life doing that for her.
She needs to learn how to fight for her love, grab it with both hands and protect it (as Shivvay said). Her sacrificing defeatist attitude will not do because Shivvay cannot fight this fight on behalf of them both. She needs to pull up her socks and do her bit.
She has to stop with the Fight or Fight' response to all things in her love and marriage. She needs to mature out of her childish fears and believe in herself and Shivvay. In short Annika needs to start evolving and if that means Shivvay has to shake her to get that response then so be it!!
We have always seen Shivvay at the receiving end of Annika's lectures and only once have we seen her at the receiving end of his- when he bodily picked her from Chanda's and brought her home. I honestly need this man to do the same thing in a few days (when he learns the truth) and actually kidnap her to a location, lock her up with him and shake some sense into that thick skull of hers.
