Chapter 2- The Calming Lullaby

Sorry guys for the late update. I was busy for the whole day just got time to write a chapter.Enough of my ramblings, so here you go with an update.

Recap:-"Om i always claimed that I knew her better than anyone but the truth is that I don't know A SINGLE DAMN thing about her. I failed Om, I failed."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Still she was mumbling the delusional ramblings of the words 'chutki','bhaiya' and 'don't beat me.' No matter which path she took it always came back to the hangman's noose at the center of the maze. There was only one way out. An ominous boom startled Annika out of her abysmal nightmare. Her cheeks were wet and her body was bathed in a cold sweat. The sheets were twisted around her limbs, probably because she was thrashing in her sleep. Her heart pounded against her chest. Annika trembled.

She is suffering from high fever which was due to falling in pool while Shivaay was chasing her for breaking his phone. Shivaay was guilty for doing that.

His Badi Maa and Dadi were trying to lower her temperature down.She was stirring under the sheets. She was being unable to calm down. Shivaay's touches have only managed to calm her down to some extent.Now Shivaay being away, she is calm but still stirring and murmuring.

Gauri was noticing this all from a distance. Her heart was screaming to go to Annika and caress her hair but Omkara...

Flashback

"STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY MATTERS, GAURI."Omkara roared at Gauri when she offered to help Annika.

"But OmkaraJi please listen to me on-" She was cut offed by Omkara.

"I said STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY YOU GOLD DIGGER." Om roared her in the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva when his third eye opens and cornered her.

She was shivering from his warning.

After he left, she broke down near the pool and it was all witnessed by Soumya.

Soumya had helped her to being normal. She went towards ShivIka's room. She needs to help Annika. Her Annika Bhoujai needs help. She can't control herself. She is ready to face Om's wrath now but Annika bhoujai of hers is more important.

She rushed to her side.

Shivaay was rummaging through the pill box finding pills for Annika's fever. He was drowning in his pool of guilt.He knew he'd done something pretty awful when he had to work so hard to justify it. The more demanding the reparations his subconscious required the worse he knew it was.One second passed.Two seconds passed.Three seconds passed. Guilt was eating and pestering him. A fire burned in his mind and throat. Remorse hit him like a sledgehammer.The guilt is ice in his guts. It could be a hundred degrees out and he would still be frozen on the inside. He can't melt it on his own, he can't shift it at all. He need HER to bring her warmth, to show him that he can be better, that he can still serve her.

Pinky came to him and asked about Annika. "Shivaay my head is aching. Can you massage it for few minutes?" Pinky asked him by indicating how her head was paining.

"NOT now mom. Now I've Annika to take care. Just eat some pills and go to sleep."He replied by losing his patience. Pinky was startled at his Kohinoor Hera Beta's outburst. Tears started to form in her eyes.

"Sorry Mom, I was stressed out. Please don't take it to you heart."Saying this he kissed Pinky's forehead and went out.

Pinky's eyes were red with anger Mad as flies in a fruit jar, mad as a hippo with a hernia, mad as a monkey with a migraine, mad as cat stuck in it's box. Angry eyes were just the start, then came the strut, the slamming and the clipped words. Petal would turn, all of a smoulder, but her attractiveness was gone. She was beaming now to take revenge on Annika.

Gauri went to Annika.

Dadi was taken by OmRu to put her to sleep. Jhanvi was still there. Gauri held Annika's hand in hers. They felt her a bit relaxing. Suddenly Gauri felt happy and urge to sing a song.

She parted her lips to sing a song. A sweet melody of mother's lullaby comes from her mouth.

"Lori lori lori..."

Annika instantly started relaxing.Annika now feels like being at home. The tunes were familiar to her.She is in deep slumber. Now she is murmuring again. "Mama! Mama!"

Flashback

As mama stroked her long hair, her breathing slowed. Then she began to sing the lullaby she'd always sung to her and her siblings at bedtime since they were babies. Now her tears had stopped, leaving only their tell-tale wet tracks down her sweetheart shaped face. She could soothe him like no-one else, even her own breaths were deep and even. It was impossible to stay anxious or upset with Mama around. Then as her eyelids became heavy and drooped she carried her up the stairs to the bed she'd pre-warmed. Then she slid into the bed next to her and cuddled her until she was asleep.

Shivaay and Om hearing such a beautiful voice came to AnShi room to check who was singing. Shivaay was happy to see Annika sleeping peacefully.

He went and took Gauri in a warm bear hug and thanked her. He was now happy as Annika relaxed. Their are still many questions cooking up in his mind which needed to be solve. What is his Annika hiding from him? Why did Gauri's song relaxed her?
