Suffocating SilenceChapter-7 Gauri was sitting their hugging a sobbing anika,suddenly she felt that the weight on her shoulder increased...she then felt that anika's sobs were stopped,
she pulled her face up and felt that her breaths were even very slow..she patted
anika's face calling out her name but there was no response from anika which
really horrified Gauri
she started shouting for om and shivay to come
their but first one to come their was riya..she paused at the door for once
looking at what was going on...anika lied on the swing like a body with no soul and Gauri was rubbing her hands with tears streaming down her eyes..
riya followed Gauri and started rubbing anika's arms and feet...she like Gauri was even hell scared.. in 2 mins or more shivay and om came up running..
they too just like riya paused for moment "Gauri ye anika aise?" om asked confused..
"I don't know WO ek dum se faint" Gauri said sobbing but then in no time shivay carried anika in his arms and took her to his bedroom making her lie on the bed..meanwhile om called to their Liverpool doctor who lived just few houses away from shivay's bungalow shivay took some water in his hand from the glass kept nearby and sprinkled it on anika's face
anika regained consciousness and was surprised by the hug which shivay gave her
Shivay's POV
the time I saw her opening her eyes I could not help but just hug her at the same moment...I don't have words to tell how relieved I was feeling then..
she didn't reacted for a minute and then she slowly started parting
herself away and in order not to make her feel uncomfortable I sat back and
picked the water glass trying to feed her but she just took the glass in her
hand and gulped it down..I was feeling terrible at that moment but still controlled myself from breaking and tried to speak"anika ye Sab" but
before I could speak "gauri..can u pass me my bag"
"bag..WO toh mere room mein hai...I will bring it" said riya running out of the room
it was then anika realised that she was in my room...
her eyes scanned the whole room...it was the same colour with all the same things which she brought to decorate the room...just the difference was that the full length picture of me
and anika Was changed with the picture which contained only anika..that was a beautiful picture of anika which was clicked in the college time..
"Gauri..mujhe riya ke room mein le chalo...I will be only with her" said anika
but before I could protest riya came inside with a cute pout on her face
carrying anika's bag she placed the bag on anika's lap and kept her hands on her
waist with a frown on her face..
"no Mumma..u will sleep with daddy...aapki tabiyat kharab hai and mai aapka dhang se khayal bhi nahin rakh paoongi!! "
"but ri" said anika but my daughter is the best daughter as she said "no ifs and buts u will sleep with daddy and that's all" as riya finished none of us could help but giggle but anika looked down with a aww soo cute pout
in no time doctor arrived and I stood up to give him space to check anika..
"did u ate anything since morning and above that did u took your medicines dear"
asked the doctor examining her pulse and other things...watching anika looking down nooding a no
I asked what medicines they were talking
"Asthma medicines Shivay" answered the doctor back standing up
"for god's sake she is fine as that was very minor attack...umm all she need is now to eat something healthy and rich with her medicines following it!!" said the doctor
but mind was all stuck on two words.."asthma and attack"
I couldn't really
believe that anika was suffering from asthma and none knew about it..
om took the doctor out
"anika how can u be soo careless" I blurted as
the doctor went out
"why didn't u even tell us about it" shouted Gauri
"agar aapko kuch ho jata toh" said riya but her voice was different it was sad one!! riya went and held anika's hands
"Mumma I know mai aapse pehle bhi yeh promise le chuki hoon but please ek baar phir promise karo ki you will never leave me alone..kabhi bhi nahin"
"I promise riya..I will never leave you" even tough I knew I might have to go far from my daughter but still anika's these genuine words made me smile giving me a hope that maybe we all can be together...I turned back to see Gauri's face but she wasn't there anymore so I went out looking for her giving the mother and daughter some space
I went down and I could see her and om both in the kitchen
Gauri was sobbing and was stirring the soup
"om agar mai anika ko Mumbai mental hospital wali baat yaad naa dilati toh use attack nahin aata"
"its ok Gauri..but remember ki jab bhi tum us baat ke baare mein sochti ho toh tumhari tabiyat bhi kharab ho jati hai..and hum ye afford nahin kar sakte" said om
but the point that was roaming in my mind was what thing were they talking about and what about the mental hospital
"Kis baat ke baare mein baat kar rahe ho tum" I asked them entering the kitchen and could see them both
glaring at each other gulping hard
"please..batao mujhe"
"har cheez ka ek sahi time hota hai shivay" said om
"abb ye soup le jao anika ke liye..tab tak mai cook ko kehke dinner bhi ready karwa deti hoon" said gauri
handing me the bowl of soup..
I quietly nooded and left to the room with soup as I entered the room I could only see anika lying at the same spot in
a posture which clearly indicated that she felt too weak and riya was seen nowhere..
my footsteps were enough to make her open her eyes..
"WO riya?" I asked her
"apne room mein gayi homework karne ke liye"
she said sitting up by the bed head...I came and sat in front of her with soup in my hand..I took a spoonful soup and tried to feed her but when she stopped me by keeping her hand in front of her face I couldn't help but just scold her the way I do when I am angry on riya's tactics and started feeding her soup!!
Narration...
It was one of the best moment for shivay..anika like a child was following his orders after soo long time...but there were two more people who watched them from the door!!
Gauri and om watched them and couldn't help but just smile on their cuteness even in the worse of time
dinner that day was a complete burst!! anika left no chance of teasing om and gauri about the special guest in gauri's tummy!!
they all had really great fun that day..it had the same feeling which they had when they were all a happy family!!
gauri stood up first saying she is feeling really sleepy!! om and she left from there!!
anika too stood by the unwilling support she got from shivay!! All three of them climbed the stairs slwoly and silently!!
"mumma..papa goodnight!! MUaaah!!"
" riya, mai bhi toh tumhare sath hi aa rahi hoon" said kiya
"momma dont u remember that you will sleep with daddy and not me today" riya said with the same tone she did in evening!!
anika gulped helplessly and muttered an OK
riya went in her room and shivay and anika went in their room!! as the door opened anika could see that her bags were now kept in the room as if she i gonna stay there itself
as anika saw those bag she just came out of shivay's grip on her shoulder which helped her move all long she faced him
"we need to tell her" anika said to him
"why" asked shivay
"why!! shivay do u even realize..she thinks that we are together and i will be here with you..we cannot give her any false hopes, she is a kid and she canont beer a heartbreak... when she will come to know that we are nt together and we would take a divorce in another 5 days she would not be able to bear it!!"
"exactly anika she would not be able to beer that is why i have never told her a single thing...u dont really know her..she is such an emotional child" before shivay could speak anything further
"woa..wait a min you are trying to say that i dont know my daughter and dont even care for her" she nearly shouted on shivay
"i didnt mentioned that you dont care..i just said that you dont know her"
"yaaa...how would i even know her...because you are the one who snatched her from me"
"i didnt snatched her..it was just beacuse i wanted the betterment of all of us..especially i wanted to save her life"
"yaaa...the same thing which i have heard a thousand of times from your liar mouth shivay!!"
"i am not speaking lie...its the only truth ...u need to trust me!! he said grabbing her by her shoulders.
"i trusted you but u broke it and it can never be back again" said anika but this time she wasnt shouting she was soft with her voice..she parted away from him and turned to leave the room
"anika" said shivay calmly and this time anika turned back to look at him
"pehle apni medicines le lo" he said handing her the medecines with a glass of water
she took a deep breath gulping her emotions down her throat and took the medecines from him and left the room moving staright downstairs
as she left shivay threw the water jug on the floor to take all his anger out!!
god knows what their life was turning into...few times they had such cute moments which may give all of them the hope of getting better but at other times they are like the world is about to end!!
Anika's POV
i came downstairs and shook till the core when i heard the sound of the breaking glass.. i waas sure shivay did this but its fine..i knew he wouldnt hurt himself for riya's sake!!
i took a glass of water and gulped all those medicenes down my throat and sat on the sofa...i dont really know how hard i was trying not to break down...all these happenings in my life have given me alot of pain that now i have learnt how to deal with it!! we say...time doesnt heal the pain it just tells how to live with it and trust me..my life would be the best example of this!!
i for the first time i started observing the house...and with every shot i could tell that shivay didnt move even a single thing...every wall had the same colour and every interior was the same..just few things were added by not ruining the old ones..
my eyes suddenly went to the corridor which i was trying to avoid since i entered this house!! i stood up taking some support from the sofa and went their on the entrance of that corridor i touched those royal carvings which i designed years back to decorate the gateway of that corridor..they were same with golden polish on them!! i walked in and the walls were even covered with the same pictures of me and shivay...walking a long distance i reached at the inner part of the house..looking at the dust piles on floor i was sure that shivay didnt allowed anyone to ever come this place...but there were recent footsteps of someone which lead to the closed door of the stair case!! i was sure enough that shivay visited here a few days back or maybe just yesterday!!
i opened the door and the familiar fragnance of our beautiful past enthraled me!! i went down and saw those few rooms there and dont know why i staright went in the master bed room which was looking angelic!! the window on the seeling which opened in the garden made it look more beautiful as the moonlight entering through the window decorated the bed perfectly!!
i dont know when i sat on the bed and slept with silent tears in my eyes of the past!!
shivay's POV
it was midnight and i couldnt sleep so i went down to look on anika!! just to see that she was alright!! but to my surprise she wasnt there!! i knew she didnt came up so i cheked all the rooms downstairs but she was nowhere i thought she left the house!! so i sat on the sofa..
in few more minutes reality stuck my mind and i went looking for her in the inner part of house!! as i came in i could see her footsteps marked right behind mine which i created last night!! i went down from the stairs without making a single noice!! i entered the bedrooom watching its door opened and to my aspiration i saw anika asleep on the bed!!
i stood by the door and god knows till how long I watched her sleeping their peacefully!! i couldnt stop myself so i went and took my place on the bed!! i creased her hairs and dont know when she just hugged me in her sleep and pulled me closer!!
my heartbeats were high and i kept looking at her face and dont know when i slept their itself!!
Narration
the next morning was an awkward morning for both shivay and anika!! it was weird yet cute for them to find them sleeping in each others arms after five long years!!
they both went up and met gauri and om sitting on sofa drinking their coffee!!
"ooo..toh love birds abhi abhi apne dream house se aaye hain!!" gauri teased them
shivay smiled and blushed where anika looked down with embarrasment!!
ignoring om and gauri's gaze anika turned to face shivay!!
"i know shivay aap sahi bol rahe the ki main riya ko nahin janti.."
"anika listen" but before he could speak anythn further anika showed him her hand indicating him to pause
"but hame use sab batana hoga...agar hum aur ruke toh shayad bahut der ho jayegi" said anika calmly!!
shivay turned towards gauri and om for some help but they were at her side!!
"shivay..anika sahi keh rahi hai" said om
"agar.. riya ko badme pata chalega toh wo aur hurt hogi" said gauri taking anika's side!!
"ok fine...but ye kaam mai nahin karoonga" defended shivay
"tera matlab kya hai..ye jo sab ho raha hai wo sab teri" said om with disgust!!
"meri wajah se hai janta hoon...but ye poora sach nahin hai...aur tu toh ye baat janta hai phir bhi" shivay said and this time he was disgusted by om's statement!!
"hahahahahaha...wow shivay brilliant! zaroor is baar aapne apni joothi kahani mein inhe phasaliya" anika said faking a laughter
"Anika its nothing like that!!" Gauri said her calmly!!
"comon gauri..he is the person who hurted me like no one ever can do to anyone in this world!!"
shivay had few tears in his eyes watching anika!!
but all this drama was stopped by a voice
"aap sab ko mujhe kya batana hai?" it was a storng voice...well voice of riya!!
she came down
"yahi..ki mumma papa ka divorce hone wala hai...aur ye dono mere liye court mein ladenge!!"
riya was sobing by then and all four of them were shocked
" riya tumhe ye sab" asked a shocked shivay!!
"kal raat jab aap aur mumma fight kar rahe the toh mere room tak aawaz aa rahi thi"
" riya!!" muttered anika but it was late!
riya ran upstairs crying and shut the door behind her breaking down in the room!!
all of them ranupstairs and and aksed her to open the door but she was admant and didnt opened the door
"jao..yahan se" riya shouted at them and sensing the situation..gauri asked all of them to come down and give her some time!!
after 3 hours or so riya came down with swollen eyes!!
anika stood up as she was the first one to watch her and ran to hug her
anika hugged her but riya stood like a statue!!
anika parted away sensing that she wasnt responding anything..even shivay tried to speak to her but she ignored them totally
"chachi..mujhe bhook lag rahi hai and i know ki aap sabne bhi kuch nahin khaya toh plzz...cook se kehkar khana lagwa do"
gauri just nooded at her and went in kitchen!!
few other days went silent and none of them had a hearty converstation except gauri and riya
these few days were the biggest test for the three who suffered the most!!
shivay who was srongest person back then beacme the weakest one who would cry on every slightest thing..just the sight of silent and broken riya would make him fall!!
anika who became the strongest due to her life was now even more stronger!! a tear would never shed down from her eye!! she always sat in the garden and would come in only when riya forced her to take her medecines and something!!
om was the one who became the soul support of shivay those days..he would always sit with him so that he could consloe him!! and give him starength..
riya was even silent but she was the one who would take care of everyone as she knew that none of them would ever have food if she didnt tell them!!
gauri was the only one who pretended to be strongest as she needed it too!! she was living with a baby inside her and four other babies surrounding her who would turn into statues everytime
however those few days passed and the day for all of them to leave for mumbai came!!
