Sorry for updating so late. I fell asleep yesterday and only now logged in.

I agree with everything you've said about Anika. Having faced the world alone and eternally scared of being abandoned by her loved ones, she doesn't want to allow her heart to believe it'll last. Yes, she wants Shivaay to say all those cheesy, OTT dialogues (which is SO OUT OF CHARACTER for Shivaay 😆 ) and she's also teasing him about it. But deep down inside, she doesn't really think he'll actually go ahead and say it, despite what she's hoping.

She's trained her mind and heart to expect the worst in life. To always be ready for tragedy. That dosti dialogue - that's Anika preparing for the worst and telling herself not to expect much. I frankly didn't think she was out of character in the dosti scene.

Also, I'd like to add that her not taking Shivaay's last name - it's for all the reasons you've mentioned above but I also think a part of it is because she loves her individuality and "khud kee pehchaan" and never wants to forget where she came from. TBH with you, I really hope after this NKK mess is over, she remains "Just Anika" 😊
I agree with you Risha even though a lot of critics have bashed her about losing her 'Pehechan' I for one firmly disagree that she has lost her identity.

As for Shivaay, I don't really have much else to say. You've said it all. What Pinky said to him; yes, it's irking him. He's curious about Anika's past - frankly, any husband would (even one without NKK prejudices). He wants to know, yet he's aware of the fact that mentioning it might hurt Anika. So, he's conflicted. I'm betting these conflicts will increase as Pinky continues to dig her own grave.

And yeah - no way is the husband-of-the-year I saw in Friday's episode EVER going to let her go. He will keep her by his side NO MATTER WHAT. By hook or by crook. In fact, I think we should be more worried about what he may end up doing to keep Anika with him (not that he'd EVER hurt her again like he used to)
The Shivvay we know now cannot live without Annika - PERIOD!!! Whether Pinky or anyone else wants to believe that or not 😆
This guy would hover over, around and above her while she was planning his wedding with another!!! Now that he has firmly instated her as his WIFE how does anyone, who really knows Shivvay, actually believe he is going to let her go!!
The stage he is at in his Husband Role right now clearly states that he is more 'Annika's Husband' than an 'Oberoi Son'. Pinky better wake up and smell the 'Kali Coffee' before she suffers a major OMM

For Annika, this whole bout on her sticking to reality is so beautiful and sad, because it shows Annika is capable of being realistic about her place in life but Annika does not have faith in her relationship with Shivaay. Annika loves him, but feels he won't change.
I feel like it would be inaccurate to guess that Shivaay would actually leave her.

Annika has seen the weakest and wickedest shades of Shivaay, and to Shivaay that's important. Annika has not left his side even after everything they've been through, after all the pain he tortured her with. You cannot tell me that doesn't mean something to Shivaay.

Shivaay can't leave Annika, it won't make sense that way. Annika might leave Shivaay though when Annika learns that Shivaay couldn't see a proper future with her. However, it won't be a lambi judai. I know that much. Can't wait for the Shivika development yaar, someone give me the next weeks episodes...

Question about the segment

Why Shivaay did not go after Annika? He just stopped there and let her go. People are saying Rudy is in the plan with Annika but is Shivaay in the plan too? or he didn't go after Annika because he is confused after knowing Annika's reality?

I agree. It would not be much of a struggle if they show 'zilch' struggle between accepting Annika and Nkk.
The need of the hour is not that he does a complete 180 degrees and says he is ok with it and also accepts it internally, the important thing is that he is not willing to lose Annika to NKK. The acceptance has to be worked thru. Years of a rigid and ingrained belief does not just vanish without a struggle. That is not something I would accept as well. But the willingness to want to work through it should be shown and that is what we will see now.

Honestly like you said, after everything Anika has done for Shivaay, he shouldnt be struggling with this. It should be a no-brainer to choose Anika over NKK. He'll never find another girl like Anika who will constantly put her life on the line for him and stand by him in all his problems.

He is not struggling with the fact that she is important but more with the long held rigid beliefs that he has about NKK. The fact that he is upset with his mother for insisting on finding out Annika's past means she does mean more to him than his beliefs. We all know he is aware of her past but he still holds on to her because she means more than life itself to him.
It is something that he has to work through and that is Shivvay's story right there. His struggle with breaking his NKK beliefs.

Sorry to say, Anika deserves better if this is the case.
As I said NKK won't disappear but it will mold and adapt to the new facts only in Annika's case because "Annika ki baath alag hai".

Lovely analysis. I'm always trying to dissect Shvaay in my mind too more than Anika. What goes on in Shivaay's head is so much harder to figure out than Anika. I wish we gor more of Shivaay's thoughts shown like they showed during the November wedding.

The only explanation I can come up with atm is that Anika didnt pack her bags and neither did she take Sahil with her. So perhaps, Shivaay thought Anika just needed some time to cool off and she'll come back. After all she cant abandon Sahil like that.

We know there's a night time scene where Shivaay is looking at his phone all emotional and in tears. Most of us assumed it's about Mahi, Shivaay finding out something about him. I'm now thinking it's about Anika. Im guessing he was trying to call Anika but she cut his phone call. She didnt return home by night so he's emotional thinking she's really left.

Rudra and Khanna maybe in on the plan, but I dont think Shivaay is. If Shivaay was in on the plan, he would have known where Anika was going during that wet hair scene. Looks like Anika already made a plan with Rudra before that scene, hence why she found out from Rudra about Shivaay's plans for the day; making sure Shivaay stays out of her way.

Annika is one of the most realistic characters I have seen. Bcoz she is the truely a representation of everyday strong women out there like all of us. And she doesn't shove it in anyone's face. She just be.
So true. That is why most of us can identify with who she is.

Her insecurities are relatable so much so that I feel what is holding her back is what hold most women back. Her fear that if she really let herself indulge in this reality which feels like a dream & if it shatters bcoz from her previous experiences everything that feels too good to be true ends up too good to be true, she would be broken. And if that happens she wouldn't have anyone to blame, bcoz she knew better, didn't she? So she doesn't hope much but still lives what she has been provided with.
And I love her for that. She doesn't hold back or pushes him away fearing losing it all. She lives in the present but doesn't hope for the future.
Yes. Undemanding, unassuming, cool, in control and all woman. What is not for Shivvay to fall in love with! She is the perfect match for him. All he ever wanted as a partner sub-consciously but never even realized it till he actually married her by force.

I feel everyone who wanted to put her down,underestimates her, including Shivaay in the beginning & Pinky now. She feels separating her from Shivaay, will ruin Anika. But that is so not true. Shivaay may not ever get up again after losing her, but she will stand up again & carry on. And that is not bcoz she loves him less but bcoz she knows how to pick herself up & is far more practical about life than she leads us to think. Also she has loved him with everything she had & given the choice between anything & him she will choose him. And that is her strength, she has the perfect balance between her heart & her brain.
So true. She is a fighter and Pinky forgets that. Annika has lived life alone and survived.
Shivvay on the other hand is very aware of the fact that Annika can soldier on through life even without him and that is why he does not risk letting her fout of his sight even for a nano-second. 😆
Hence the 'sahara' is not being offered by him but the 'saath' is what he is luring her with. He knows she is independent as hell and does not need his support so he plays on her loneliness card in order to keep her from running away from him at the first provocation of being tied down.
Shivvay is more worried about losing Annika than Annika about losing Shivvay ...lol
I cannot wait to see the scene where she actually manages to run away from the OM even if it means for 1/2 a day 😆 Tia was right - she is Shivvay's prisoner and he has kept her captive at the OM 🤣 Reminds me of the RFID chip in my story ...lol

Shivaay on the other hand is someone who has never learn to lose. So when life( with Mahi's reality) or his mom ( trying to separate them)will try to make him lose, he will definitely need Anika to stand again. You are so right. He lets her be what she wants to be. He even being him with his big fat ego, doesn't pushed himself on her. I feel he must be ready to die just to have the moments where she opens up. Oh! The delight he must feel to love, care & even protect ( not that she needs protection) & know such a strong woman.
lol ... Yep! imagine being the protector and husband of a 'Jhansi Ki Rani' ... he must feel like a God 😉

I feel she has been closest to him, Shivaay as a person other than his brothers. And she is special that way bcoz she was noone to him. And to be here after being noone in the beginning is a big feat to pull.
Secondly, she has made him hope, first that she can be his & secondly he too can be happy like any other person his age & have the simple pleasures of life, which is something he did not believe in the beginning. I certainly feel like her, he too was uncertain about them. The only difference being he knows if he wants something he has it. And he doesn't have her fears that whatever good happens to him will go away like it always does.
The only difference being in the beginning he needed her like he does now but he didn't want her bcoz of his NKK. But now he knows how it feels to have what he has always dreamt of & he wants it to stay with him & he will do whatever it takes to keep it that way.
He has grown to love and understand her now.

Now Pinky sees Shivaay as someone who rectified her existence. She is for her noone more than his mother. That keeps her going. Her insecurities are real for her bcoz she feels that Shivaay will seize being her son & she his mother once he starts being Anika's husband. If she was someone who had a identify of herself, she probably won't fuss about this as much as she is doing. Example to that is Shakti. He has transitioned well bcoz unlike Pinky his world doesn't revolve around Shivaay. Being a Single child, I get her overprotectiveness but I was amazed by her insecurities bcoz my mom being a strong woman, she never had them or may be she slayed them like all strong women do.
She wants Anika to lose Shivaay but will end up being other way around. She will lose him, that means his respect for her, he contrary to her belief does know his mother & her flaws & still respects her for what she is. The next few steps she is going to take will make him lose his respect. The only fear I have is I hope he doesn't loses himself in this game she is playing. I hope they show him stronger than ' I drink myself to my death bcoz I can't forget her'. I do hope they show a third dimension to Pinky's insecurities. I hope they don't make her just another vampy MIL
Shivvay won't do that because he will never let Annika go. The man keeps his commitments and he does not take marriage lightly. So NKK or not - Annika is here to stay as Mrs. SSO

Lastly now I know why they appeal me so much, more than any other pair I have seen on TV. They are both strong people who love each other endlessly but do know that living without each other would be possible but not worth it.
