Shivaay was sitting on his bed, a photo in his hand. The clock stroke 12 and a lone tear escaped his eye. "Happy Birthday Anika" he whispered looking at the photo. It has been a year now that the both of them had broken up and he hadn't seen her again after that disastrous day.
After some time he got to know that it wasn't exactly her fault but his. But like we say what is done cannot be undone. He hates him for what he did. He had loved her then and loves her even now. And today, he was missing her a lot.
Sivaay: Kahaan ho Anika tum? Kahaan ho? I miss you so much. Please come back. A million words would not bring you back, I know because I tried. Neither would a million tears, I know because I cried! Please come back. I love you!
And with that he broke down and fell asleep crying a little later.
Flashback:
It was a very tiring day at the OM and it was Anika's birthday. There was hell lot of work to do. Anika was the busiest one. Because the whole family had finally accepted her as Oberoi ki bahu. She didn't have time to spend with Shivaay. She was either with his brothers, mother or dadi. Here Shivaay was being restless thinking Anika, HIS wife is ignoring him. Anika loved him but she was thinking about their differences. He was high as the sky and she was ground. She was frustrated and didn't think about what she was doing or saying. She was doing something in the common room when Rey approached her and asked her in whispers,
Shivaay: Anika...!
Anika: Shivaay, aap yahaan? Kya hai?
Shivaay: Arey why are you screaming? Main toh bas..
Anika: Main toh bas kya Shivaay? Suniye, abhi mere paas time nahi hai teri taadibazi ki. Baad mein..
Shivaay: Time nahi hai? What do you mean by time nahi hai? Teri husband ke liye time nahi hai? You have time for Daksh right ?Don't you love me?
Anika: Yeh kya love love laga rakha hai. No, I don't love you. Abhi aap jao. Mujhe bahut kaam karna hai.
Shivaay was taken aback but he didn't take it seriously because he understood that Anika didn't mean it. But it hurted a little bit She said it because she was stressed. But he pretended to be angry.
Shivaay: Fine, I'm going.
Anika: sorry. Who main..
Shivaay: it's okay I understand Acha, there's your birthday party tonight and you'll have to come with us to the club tonight.
Anika: Par Shivaay, . Um..
Shivaay: I don't want to hear any reasons. Nobody have ever dared to say no to Shivaay Singh Oberoi So you better not.
Anika: Fine, par abhi aap jao.
Shivaay: Bahut bolti ho tum. Now you do your work. Bye

That night they all went to the club. Anuka went to the club with Daksh(P.s - Here Shivaay, Anika and Daksh are all good friends) Anika wore a thigh length black chiffon halter dress with tiny crystals all along the top of the dress. The dress was so tight! It fit her like a second skin. But the way the chiffon gathered together and the crystal sparkled made the dress look so feminine yet sexy too. They were greeted by their friends when they entered and Anika was praised and wished by all.
After some time they cut her birthday cake and she looked for Shivaay give him the first piece but he was standing too far. So, she gave it to Daksh who was standing near her. Little did anyone know that Daksh loved Anika and was jealous of Shivaay. He was always trying to create problems between them
Daksh knew that Anika was sad due to some family problems and also about the little confrontation that Shiv and Ani had that morning. So he decided to play his card and asked her for a dance. First she refused, but finally agreed after a lot of pleading from him. Shivaay watched as Anika and Daksh walked to the dance floor.

Anika's eyes met Shivaay's stormy ones across the dance floor as she danced in Daksh's arms. She saw Shivaay sitting on the bar, his eyes on them. Anika looked away from his intensive gaze. He was burning with jealousy. He gulped down many vodka shots in anger and again looked back at them. She pulled out of Daksh's arms excusing herself in the middle of the song but he pulled her back. This shocked Anika. Daksh thought of this as the perfect time and twirled Anika so that her back was facing Shivaay. And then he bent down and placed a kiss on her cheeks. Only it looked to Shivaay like it was a kiss on the lips. He was taken aback. He didn't see more and immediately went away from there. There Anika immediately pulled back after that kiss and slapped him but Shivaay didn't see that.
She walked towards where she's seen Shivaay going and what she saw there blew her mind. Shivaay was dancing closely with that Tia chick, his crazy admirer and suddenly out of nowhere he bent down and kissed her. That shook her to the core. She couldn't believe her eyes. She needed to get out of here, she thought to herself as she forced herself to not run, but walk. At the door she said goodbye to Omkara, keeping the fake smile on her face. Finally getting outside she took big gulps of air. She finally felt like she could breathe again. The stupid music had turned her brain to mush. Made her emotional. Walking down the stairs she asked one of the house staff to call her a cab. That was her last night in Mumbai- her dream city.

Shivaay and his brothers were sitting in the common room when they heard a chaos outside. Shivaay's heart can feel his Anika omewhere near him. His heart said, "She is here." But his mind said, "Why would she be here? Just to have another heartbreak." Without wasting time they headed out and were shocked at what they saw. There standing in the middle of the empty space was Anika. But she was a new Anika now. She wore a mid-thigh length red chiffon strapless dress that hugged all her body. She had left her hair in curls down her back and her make-up emphasized her best features He could hear a "wow" from his brothers His whole family took her in a hug.
Om: Where were you? We missed you. Btw, happy birthday Kiddo.
Anika: Thanks Om. Btw, I was on a vacation. But I am back now.
Tia: And that too with a bang.
Anika: Um, thanks. But I don't seem to recognize you.
Tia: Oh sorry. I'm Tia Rey's girlfriend.
Anika: Ok! Anyways, Im here to be with my sweet family and we are not divorced yet so I wanted to spend some time with daadi
And with that she left. She didn't even look up at Shivaay once. For her he didn't exist. That day had changed both. both of them are depressed and hurt. They might show hatred to each other but deep down both still love each other.
After Anika went Shivaay rushed to his room. He slid down along the wall crying. He was cursing himself for all this. He was shattered, no crushed, no torn it thousand pieces from inside. He didn't believed that his fate could do this to him. Once he used to be the reason of her smile and now also he was the reason for what she is. But the difference is that she is not HIS ANIKA, she is some arrogant and egoistic chick. It was him who made her so lifeless, so vulnerable. "I wish I could go back and change that day! Then you would have been here with me."
On other hand Anika's condition was no good. She was driving crazily. She was driving but she didn't knew her destination. Wait was there any destination? Hell NO! Her destination was Shivaay who left her on this bloody birthday of her's. She was happy, smiling and dancing all around but was this the truth? No this is not the real Anika. Her condition was no less than Shivaay but worse than him. That incident taught her one thing which she used to hate long ago - DON'T TRUST ANYONE! NOTHING IS YOURS AND NO ONE IS YOURS! She was now a dead soul! She was no more the bubbly, chirpy Anika who used to spread smile on eveyone's face! She was a body without soul! Her soul left her the moment Shivaay left her!
Both Shivaay and Anika loved each other immensely. There is nothing in the world who can measure their love for each other but it seems like destiny does not want them to live their life. May be that's why they both are now dead! Ya they are dead! No not them but their hearts! That one moment had created havoc in their life! It was just a moment which changed their happy full of love life into a living hell
