This is what I feel. It may turn out different.
Anika is in love with Shivaay. She had her realisation before the marriage.
For Shivaay, he feels he shares a connection with Anika. Now we feel connected to a lot of people. He is someone who shares a connection with very few people. He has acted on his jealousy so may be he thinks he likes her a lot & has this physical attraction towards her, infatuation of some sort. Or just may be he thinks he was jealous of Daksh bcoz he was losing a friend. That happens with us too, right.
Truely he does love her. He just hasn't realised that yet. And that's where what you said applies perfectly. When he lets his heart rule, his heart acts on his love for her. But he has been hesitant about the realization. So when his brain rules, he goes back to resisting his feelings.
Now coming to Tia. She was commiting suicide with kerosene on her body & match stick in her hand. If at that moment he would have said he wouldn't divorce Anika, may be she would have done something. So may be he just was assuring her for time being.
Now look at him after the pregnancy news was out among the family or in today's precap. He keeps glancing at Anika. Bcoz somewhere in his head he wants her to not fall in this mirage like his family & trust him. He wants her to stay with him.
I guess this whole track will bring him to realise that he can't live without her not bcoz she is among the few people who matter or is his friend, but bcoz he is madly in love with her. Secondly ofcourse his beliefs will be shattered. And thirdly how it feels when you lose control over your life, which he did to Anika. So he will be forced to divorce her, even when that is the last thing he wants to do right now.That would be a another stop on his guilt trip!
Coming to his belief in Tia. We have to cut the guy some slack. Tia is someone who fits his parameters. He knows her since 3 years. Anika is an out of box exception for him & he knows her since 2 months. So he having a little more trust in Tia is understandable. But her actions are making him question her now which is how it is suppose to go in normal life.
Now when his beliefs in her will be broken & in Anika will get stronger, he will start trusting her more. And when this divorce thing will be till his neck he will definitely realise how difficult it is to live without Anika & finally let his heart take the decisions in the matter.
