Chapter 3B
PRESENT:-
Coming out of the room, Shivay looked for the time in his watch. It was 6:00 am. 'Time for breakfast', he thought and started moving towards the kitchen. He had to make a healthy breakfast for Anika. She became conscious today, after almost five days since the attack. These five days were worst than hell for Shivay as he looked at her quite self every minute.
This was probably the first time since he had met her that her absence stretched for so many days. She was brought to Oberoi Mansion the day after the attack, but she was unconscious. Her voice was something which he wanted to hear all the time but she was quiet, all these five days. He wanted her to speak something, anything which she wanted, call his name or do anything but the heavy dose of medicines given to her everyday caused her to lay still and be in a deep sleep. He always made breakfast for her in the morning in the hope of seeing her eating it sometime. He even sat by her side every night and watched her, ensuring her safety and his satisfaction that she was still alive and was in front of him. He never left her alone. He was scared that if he left her for even a fraction of a second, he would lose her which he could not afford. She was his heartbeat and he had realised this fact a long time ago. He needed her, no matter how much he denied. No matter how much they fought or argued, he never hated her. In fact, he loved to fight with her, hear her weird language and enjoy her antics. It was as if they didn't fight for a day, their day would not end. Om and Rudra always said that he had feelings for her but he kept on ignoring them until he realised it himself when he found her drowning in water, in that tank or when he found her shot with a bullet which was meant to hit him. He realised that they had some unbreakable connection between them that bonded their hearts together.
Last night he had intended to stay up all the time to watch her sleeping peacefully, but he didn't know how he ended up dozing off beside her. The last thing which he remembered was him caressing her cheeks and wishing her 'Goodnight', before he drifted off to sleep maybe because of sleep deprivation and tiredness. But when he woke up, he found her in his arms. It had felt so right to keep her in his embrace. He wanted that moment to stop there.
But she, suddenly, screamed in her sleep. It was a name which she screamed. He tried to calm her down but she started shaking uncontrollably. He rubbed her arms with one hand to create warmth and he held her waist with the other hand to keep her in position. He felt her relaxing again so he stopped rubbing her hands. He just watched her as her breath became even and she rolled on the bed, facing the other side. He knew that she was going to be awake soon. He immediately closed his eyes as he waited for her to be awake.
"You'll burn the omelette, Shivay if you keep it there on the stove for even a minute more", Omkara said, putting off the stove.
"Huh? Oh... I uh,... I was thinking about something", Shivay said, turning to Om. "By the way, what are you doing here, Om?"
"I just thought to help you with the breakfast and have some Obro moment together. I also wanted to ask about Anika. How is she?" Om asked, serving the omelette on the plate.
"She is fine. She woke up today, Om", Shivay said, pouring the warmed milk in the glass.
"What? Anika Didi became conscious?" Rudra asked, entering the kitchen while rubbing his eyes.
"Yeah, Rudra, Anika is doing well right now. She is resting in my room", Shivay said.
"Can I meet her, Bhaiya? I missed her so much all these days", Rudra said, showing his cute puppy face to Shivay.
"Not right now, Rudra. Let her relax for sometime. Besides, she's not going anywhere so you can meet her anytime you want but just not now", Om tried to convince Rudra.
"Rudra, how are you up so early? You don't get usually before nine or ten in the morning", Shivay asked, changing the topic.
"Woh Bhaiya, I got kicked out of my own room last night and the couch in the study room is not comfortable enough to let me have a peaceful sleep", Rudra said, pressing the back of his neck to ease the pain there.
"Who 'kicked' you out, Rudra?" Om asked.
"Soumya. Who else? She got angry with me last night because I accidently called her Fatty on her face. As a result, she threw me out of our room and and locked the door", Rudra explained with a sad face. Shivay and Om were having a hard time controlling their laughter seeing Rudra's condition.
"Haan... Haan has lo mujhpe aap log. Meri toh kisiko fikr hi nahi hai. Meri shaadi kya hui sab ne mujhe paraya kar diya. Udhar Soumya aur idhar mere bhai. [Yes, please make fun of me (sarcasm). I know ghar nobody cares for me. Since my marriage, I am being left alone by my family. There Soumya doesn't want me and here my brothers]", Rudra said.
Shivay stopped laughing while Om was still trying to stop himself.
"Its not like that Rudra. We are still together no matter what. But this was something funny you know. There is this unsaid rule in a relationship, which is, you can't tell your girlfriend or wife that she is overweight or fat. You need to tell her that she is pretty and the most beautiful woman in the world. When will you learn Dumbell Oberoi?" Shivay said.
"You are not understanding, Bhaiya. You don't know how much it pains in the spine when you sleep on a small couching after sleeping on a king size bed all your life. I wish you both to get married soon. When you'll face the same thing then you'll understand my problem. And, moreover, Anika Didi is a lot fiercer than Somu. She'all not only kick you out of the room but also out of the Oberoi Mansion, Bhaiya", Rudra said and went away after grabbing an apple to eat. Shivay and Om, both got silent when Rudra went out. They both were trying to comprehend what he said in the last line. Om was simply amused but Shivay was sent to a wonderland where he was, suddenly, imagining that scene when Anika would be his wife and she'd do the same thing which Rudra said.
Rudra said something odd today but, thankfully, it didntvreveal anything he knew. It just went completely unnoticed by his brothers and realising this he took a such of relief.
