CHAPTER 3
It was time for breakfast and the entire Oberio family was downstairs. They were all waiting for Shivaay and Anika to come and join them, so that they could all enjoy the meal together.
Shivaay and Anika came down together.
Dadi- Agaye puttar? Baith jao.
Pinky- Tum dono dinner ke liye kaal kyu nahi aaye?
Pinky was so worried.
Anika- Wo...
Rudra- Arree! Bhaiya Pureee 5din ke baad aaye hai na, isilye ye dono shayad thora busy the. Isiliya nahi aye na bhabi?
Saying so he started laughing.
Om- Shut up Rudra. In dono ko itna awkward kyu bana raha hai.
Soumya- Bhaiya, Anika Di aap dono baitho.
Shivaay and Anika sat beside each other. And began whispering. And this didn't go unnoticed by the family.
Anika- Shivaay!! Bolo na? Aap bolo!
Shivaay- Tum bolo. Mujhe awkward lagta hai...
Anika- Pregnant hu, toh hu na, abhi aap hi ne kiya hai. Toh aap hi bolo ge...
Anika glared at her husband. He just ignored her glare and continued eating.
Shivaay- Shut up.
Om- Anika kya bolne ko keh rahi hai Shivaay?
Shivaay choked his food. And started coughing.
Rudra who was sitting just next to him offered him water which he gladly accepted and gulped the entire content.
Jhanvi- Anika? Koi problem hai kya beta?
Anika smiled at Jhanvi.
Anika- Nahi badi ma, bas Shivaay se keh rahi thi ki unhe kuch bolna tha aap sabse. Toh wo bol kyu nahi bol rahe hai bus puch rahi thi.
Shivaay turned to face Anika, and was surprised to see her act so well. He was so embarrassed. How could he tell his family that Anika was pregnant? They were having a baby. It was kind of awkward.
Dadi- Kya hua? Bol na Billu.
Shivaay opened his mouth to say something. But say the entire family staring at him including his partner in crime.
Shivaay- Umm.. Okay it's awkward. Aap sab mujhe aise mat dekhiye! Khate khate suniye. Please?
Everyone made faces at him and then looked away.
Shivaay- Anika aur main, hum...
Anika- Jaldi boliye!!
Shivaay- Main bol raha hu na. Bolne do? Ya phir khud bolo?
Anika- Aap...aapki problem kya hai. Mujse aise maat baath kijiye, Batameez Tadibaaz Bagad Billa.
Shivaay- Chup. Thik hai. Abhi khud bolo. Mujhe toh bolne deti nahi ho. Khud hi kehti rehti ho...
They started fighting. And again the entire family was staring at them.
Dadi- Arree..arre ruho.
Shakti- Shivaay, anpi biwi se thik se baath kar! Jo bolna hai jaldi bol.
Anika was trying to calm herself down. She was going to punish him for his behaviour soon but right now they had to give the good news to the family. Shivaay looked at Anika.
Shivaay- Bolu?
Anika just turned her face away from him.
Shivaay- Whatever Anika?
He then turned towards the entire family and again noticed them staring. So instead to asking them to look away, he just looked at Om, and continued.
Shivaay- We actually have a Good News. Anika and I are...we are...okay!! ANIKA IS PREGNANT.
Shivaay was very loud and quick with his last statement. Anika was blushing hard. The family was too surprised to react immediately. So everyone was staring at them. Shivaay was relieved now. He again started eating.
Dadi- Anikaa!
Dadi got up from her seat and rushed towards Anika who was all red, and hugged her. Soon Pinky Jhanvi joined her.
Pinky- Wow. Main kaabb se iss good news ke liye waits kar rahi thi. Finally wo day has comes!! Now main apne kanji aankho wale pote potio se plays kar paungi!!
Pinky kissed Anika's forehead.
Jhanvi- Anikaa! Isi liye tum pichle do tin hafto se itnaa glow kar rahi ho! Thank you for the news Anikaa!!
Anika was still not talking. Everyone was so happy. She was still blushing.
Rudra ran to Anika and made her stand up.
Rudra- Bhabiii! Apne toh mujhe khush kar diya! Main kab se iss ghar me main sabse chota tha. Ab actually me sabse chotu baby ayega! I am so happy bhabi.
Rudra hugged Anika tight. Tej quickly made a call to someone.
Tej- Yes. Tej Singh Oberoi. Aaj Oberoi Mansion se koi bhi office nahi aayega, and kal office band hai, declare kar do. Aur ye bhi, ki is month humare taraf se Sab ko bonus mileya.
After saying that he cut the call. Shivaay just heard him. They all were so happy and excited. But everyone went and congratulated Anika, and not him? She couldn't have conceived without him. Why were they all only congratulating her only? Om came and stood next to Shivaay who was still silently eating.
Om- Hey! Mr. Oberoi, ego khushi ke bich me bhi aa raha hai. Usse rokh, and come here.
He looked up at Om, who was smily smiling at him. He got up and I'm hugged him tight. Shivaay hugged him back.
Om- Congratulations big brother! I am happy for you and Anika.
Shivaay- Thank you baby brother.
Rudra came and joined them.
Rudra- Baby ke aane se mujhe toh nahi bhul jao ge na bhaiya?
Rudra was almost crying.
Om- Rudra? Wo Shivaay ka baccha hai. Uska apna hissa! It's obvious ke tujhe thoda sa kaam attention milega jab babg aayega! It's okay. Don't cry!
Shivaay- No. No guys. I can understand what you guys are thinking but no. Haan wo mera baccha hai. Mera khoon. Mera Ansh. But doesn't give him or her the right to take your time from me! Hum teeno ek kahani ke tin hisse hai.. Aur wo kabhi change nahi hoga. As in yeah I might spend a lot more time with baby than you guys, but mera pyaar na tum dono ke liye kabhi kaam nahi hoga.
Rudra hugged them both tight together and they both responded with equal affection.
The other family members were looking at them. The trio were a treat to the eyes, always. Such a beautiful bond the Oberoi brothers shared.
Om- Rudra? Moment chala gaya hai. Pehle emotional tha...
Then both Shivaay and I'm said in union.
Shivaay Om- Ab awkward hai.
And everyone started laughing.
Soumya brought a tray full of different types of sweets, and handed them to dadi.
Dadi- Anika puttar. Tune hume aaj toh khush khabri sunai hai na, uske liye agar main tujhe hazar baar shukria kahu toh wo bhi kaam hoga!
Both Anika and Dadi's eyes were moist.
Anika- Nahi dadi, apko kuch kehne ki zarurat nahi hai. Mere liye apki pyarii si muskaan hi bohot hai. Aur kuch nahi chahiye!
She hugged dadi and fed her a little bit of a sweet. Then dadi fed her some and took the remaining bit of sweet in her hand towards Shivaay.
Dadi- Hone wale papa ke liyee!
Shivaay ate the sweet and hugged dadi.
Shivaay- I love you Dadiii!
Dadi- Haa, ab hone wali maa ko bhi khila jaake mithai!
Shivaay took the tray from her hand and went towards Anika. She was still mad at him for behaving like that when they were all having breakfast.
Shivaay- Thank you Mrs. Shivaay Singh Oberoi. I love you!
Saying so he hugged her, in front of everyone. And now all the anger was gone. She was again blushing. He fed her a little bit of Mithai and she repeated the process. Then she whispered.
Anika- I love you too Baby Daddy!
Rudra had overheard them.
Rudra- Maine kuch bhi nahi suna hai!
Soumya- Rudra? Bas Karo!
She said between her giggles.
Shakti- Maa? Shaam ko ek choti si party rakhe? Ghar me hi? Bus ghar ke log?
Dadi- Haan puttar! Acchi baat kahi hai. Prinku, Ranveer aur Sahil, Sundari aur Anika ke behen ko bhi bula lete hai!
Rudra and Shivaay quickly glanced at Om to see his reaction to the last name added to the list. He found them both looking at him and made a poker face.
The entire family was very happy. But the elder experienced women gave Anika strict warning for many things, like not running around the house, not going to the kitchen for cooking. Not to shout so much. And to eat frequently.
And The senior Oberoi men gave Shivaay some tips to handle his wife, and requested him to listen to her all the time, because they had already been there and done that. And asked him to keep his calm for the next nine months or even more.
