Hello Forum waasis,
So this is something I typed away like crazy before hitting the bed because Shivaay and Shitia are really seriously pissing me off and yet I have been relatively kind to Shivaay. Its not proof read and typed on my phone in a sleep induced haze so please forgive me for any typos.
OS : THE LAST THREAD
Shakti Singh Oberoi broke the good news to the family as his brother was still at work.They had won the case! The evidence in the CD was enough to prove that Tia Kapoor was already married.The other case on the Kapoors however was still pending in court and the hearing was after 2 weeks.
However the Oberoi family members gathered in the main hall could not rejoice much at the news as they recalled the incidents that had occured in the past 2 weeks.
The Oberoi name had become a laughing stock in the business world in the past 2 weeks, thanks to the very publicitized and scandalous divorce of the once famous and now infamous Shivaay Singh Oberoi!
Tia Singh Oberoi, ne Tia Kapoor had essentially ousted the Oberoi's of their own board in a company meeting by somehow obtaining control of 45 percent of the votes on their board and usurped the Oberoi pharma industry causing them to loose one of their biggest businesses and later the same evening had slapped a divorce on her husband of 6 months on the grounds of harrassment!
The losses that the company faced following the subsequent court case were immense and the false, yet very convincing tears of the poor and so very abused socialite Tia Singh Oberoi and her mother had run on a loop on every news channel in the country. But yesterday, Mr.Chaturvedi , the famous lawyer on the case for the Oberois had provided evidence in the form of a CD which has disproved the claims as it showed without a doubt that Tia Kapoor, was very much married for the past 3 years to her college sweetheart, Dushyant Sharma and only spun a web of lies to cheat the Oberois of their property. That, combined with Dushyant's own tearful outburst in court after the revelation had won the Oberois the case and ensured that the family didnt lose any remaining property in the name of the heavy alimony that Tia and her mother were demanding!
But the gossip and the news had ensured that the Oberoi stocks had fallen as the investors seriously doubted the decision making ability of the Oberois and hit rock bottom in the past few days with rumours of them losing the court case to the Kapoors. Unless they did some rapid damage control, quite a few companies would definitely go under and many employed in the Oberoi industries would be losing jobs, not to mention that the credibility of the Oberoi name would be lost forever. While Tej worked around the clock, MishraJi from the Oberoi industries was almost hysterical, trying to get to his boss, who was surprisingly calm and curiously detached about the well being of his company inspite of all the chaos that reigned.
Shivaay's face held no emotion as he slowly absorbed everything that his father said but his eyes showcased a different story altogether. He felt defeated.
For the first time in his life, he wished that he was just Shivaay and his brothers were just Om and Rudra and they didnt have a family name. That they didn't have to bear the consequences of being an Oberoi. That they led a simple life without the guilt or the responsibility which came with the Oberoi name. That he could walk away from it all.
But now, it was too late to salvage much of what had been lost.
For his ignorance of the many painful truths that always had been right in front of his eyes had destroyed what had been built over generations. And his arrogance and blind faith in Khoon and Khaandan essentially determining a person's worth and integrity had ruined his own life!! A woman who he had not even truly married had destroyed his family and business and unknowingly he had also helped her like a fool!
And while the losses were staggering, the weight of his biggest deal gone wrong suffocated him.
Another face filled with pain and disbelief flashed across his mind. He had lost her. And nothing , nothing could make up for that!! Companies could be rebuilt but relationships so iredeemably destroyed could never be repaired!
The truth about her and Daksh that night from his Dadi and Soumya had destroyed him!! Daksh had played a cruel trick on him but he had been no less of an animal. The way he had misunderstood her and taken revenge by making her live a farce of a married life for 6 months played in his mind and burned him, the endless memories playing in an endless loop.

He drowned in guilt as he recalled her hurt and humiliation at being a wife in the shadows for so many months. And the sadistic pleasure he took to find new ways to break her when she refused to take it standing down. His actions had even won him disapproval and disgust from his brothers. Om , who had openly expressed his disdain for his brother's cruelty , and along with Ru fought hard to protect their bhabhi from every hurt that the family had hurled at her, but failing many a time to do so. Both of them hated him now too and he knew that he was responsible.
No one could save him now.
His face was an unreadable mask as he walked into his room , unable to bear more conversation from his very selfish family members. But who was he to judge?? Yes, They were terrible people, but he had always known that...But he had surpassed them all in cruelty!
He could hear his mother call out but he didn't care. Pinky was lamenting at her fate at believing the once apple-of-her-eye-bahu, Tia and cursing her fate at not having believed the girl who had rescued them all. Hearing her name from his mother's lips made him almost nauseous as the only other person in the house who had treated Anika worse than him was Pinky. And he had often stood by in silence.
But Anika had been strong and fought him every step of the way till she almost broke. But finally when she too learnt the terrible truth, she had disappeared from their lives with her baby brother.
And frantic searches made by him and the numerous agencies hired by him ever since hadn't brought about any positive results.
And yet she had done this and helped them again!! The pain was getting to be too much to bear at the realisation. He wanted to throw things and break them. And watch them shatter into a million shards just like his heart. And even as he reached out for his nightly dose of sleeping pills for a night of dreamless sleep to escape her memories, his chest constricted painfully as his eyes fell on the blank envelope placed on his study table that had come 2 days back in the mail which contained the CD with the proof that he had passed on to his lawyer and now won them this case.
It had come with one more object besides the CD. A last thread connecting him to the girl who once had loved him with everything she had. Who had made him smile, laugh, dance. The girl who had made his very heart come alive when she was present in his vicinity and left a burning, hollow ache when she left.
