"You don't want to see the bad side of Shivvay Singh Oberoi - You just don't!!!" does not apply Mr. Oberoi when you do not pick on someone your own size. I am sorry but the statement loses its punch when it's aimed at a poor, middle class orphan girl with no one and nothing to back her. That is just the statement of a bully on the school playground who knows to how pick on a weaker kid.
First of all let me make myself absolutely clear that I do not in any way condone Mr. Shivvay Singh Oberoi's behavior of hurting and man handling Annika. No self-respecting gentleman, however infuriated, would treat a lady that way. But then I always said, Shivvay is no gentleman to begin with.
I have always and will always maintain that the character of Shivvay Singh Oberoi is more of an Alpha wolf than that of Prince Charming. Behind the well-cut expensive Armani suit, immaculate hair and cool suave mask that he dons every day is the primal mind of a predator. Ever since Daksh has entered the scene he has been like a caged beast, with the door open, pacing inside waiting for a chance to get out at the slightest provocation. The buildup of all the Annika/ Daksh situation, up until the ONS thrust in his face, has had the mock gentleman inside him using the very last threads of restraint to hold the possessive obsessive raging beast back. His attempt to bring forward the marriage was that last attempt to keep his false mask in place to look the other way and walk away from her.
Regrettably, for him, fate has deemed it otherwise in his case. I was not at all surprised to see his true self burst out today. From the first time he met her, to his immense frustration, Annika has refused to conform to his idea of who and what' she should be. He said so explicitly himself today. She has become the reason and the bane of his very existence. She is independent, strong willed, opinionated, proud and brave. Admirable qualities in the kind of woman an Alpha Male would love to possess and control to keep as his own.
Today was when the beast was all out to rage, rant, own and possess. The slap not only released that beast from the last thread of restraint holding him back but also gave him the tiniest reason to doubt the ONS actually happened. The change in the expression from the sheer disbelief of her actually slapping him in response to his accusation, to the hard look that took over once the realization hit him that the facts about the ONS were questionable, were the gears in the mind clicking in place. SHE WAS STILL AVAILABLE AND ELIGIBLE!!! Up until then it was only dialogue and argument, anger and sparring between two strong minded people. Her disgust and anger at his thoughts after the slap put the last nail in the ONS Coffin.
If you look at all the expressions the eyes have after the slap it goes from shock and disbelief that he was slapped, to 'wait a minute here! what the hell was that for?', to 'am I understanding this correctly? She is enraged at the accusation?', to 'well Annika too bad for you that you confirmed you are actually available again' after she explains the slap... and then the eyes change into this determined look that goes"gotcha right where I want ya" and the grab ... told you - total predator ...lol
And the look when he came out was more of a man who has won his bet with Daksh than who has won with her. He was right about her and he feels good that she is reinstated back on his pedestal he has built for her.
It was enough of a reason to pounce upon that opportunity that was suddenly open for him to grab before it was too late. He himself knows that he has said and done much worse in the past and she has NEVER resorted to counter that with a physical response even though she has had many occasions to do so. Her calm and controlled fight has always been within the limits of a verbal sparring. He judged from her furious and physical response today that the accusation was so far out that she lost her normal cool and broke the last of her patience.
The scene that followed was that of a man possessed and obsessed with his object of desire miraculously within reach again not to mention the much bruised ego of being chastised for his boorish actions by one much below him in class and social status. Roll all that into one and you get a Harvard Educated gun waving love crazed feudal lord chasing a helpless young girl who has had the misfortune of not only being desired by him but has also had the bad luck of standing up to him. What follows is the fox hunt, which we will witness, that ends with her succumbing to his intimidation and black mail. I am not surprised that we will have a very infuriated gentleman (a true one this time) named Om screaming 'Blue Murder' at his oh! so educated and well-bred older brother's very base actions.
Now, the best part of this drama that has unfolded, will commence with the return of the obsessed stalker - Daksh'. I will reiterate, I DO NOT condone Shivvay Singh Oberoi's actions any more than I condone Daksh's and the whole purpose of this lengthy post was to mark the return of the SSO we were introduced to in the start. One that we all had conveniently forgotten with the gradual emerging new one that has gone back into hiding again till the next time he finds it safe to show himself. He was the vulnerable, awkward, shy and love sick puppy that fooled us, as it did Annika, into believing he was harmless and insecure about himself. That was the Shivvay she felt the need to be protective about, take care of and could reason with. That was before he realized that opening himself had not only endangered himself but her as well in the bargain and he did what he does best - closed down all open gates and put up the Great Wall of Shivvay around it.
The only reason I applaud the re emerging of Shivvay Singh Oberoi the beast is because I am going to enjoy the hunt and kill of the prey called Daksh. Only a man more obsessed, ruthless, maniacal and blood thirsty than Daksh about his obsession with Annika would have the devious means to sniff him out and deal with him. Sure his killer instinct has been of course for the past few weeks because of the new Shivvay that took over but now that he has put that soft one behind closed and barred doors his beast is back in action. My only regret and pain is that Annika is going to be part of the collateral damage of this Alpha Males fight for dominance and would have liked to see that avoided by the CV's to a certain extent. I do understand why they would need to do so from a TRP point of view but from the point of view of all self-respecting woman watching this show I pray they keep the her humiliation to a minimum while Shivvay unleashes his wrath on Daksh.
Believe me Daksh, "You don't want to see the bad side of Shivvay Singh Oberoi - You just don't!!!"
