LOL exactly...it's a surprisingly well done de-construct of the typical Gul ML...the very fact that he is trolled so relentlessly both amuses you and over time starts to endear him to you😆...perhaps it's the whole sympathy for the "underdog" thing...cuz there is nothing typically heroic about this guy for all the "tashan" he tries to put up...he is not the typical M&B kinda hero in appearance or actions...despite the standard snobbish businessman template...no typical brooding or mommy/daddy issues...and on top of that, they use comedy very effectively to soften up his character.
I am even looking forward to his angsty/jealous mode and all the khoon-khandaan crap he will no doubt spew, because that will also be rendered hilarious when combined with all his panicked fussing over Anika if she so much as bumps into a table. 😆 LMAO this exactly...the fact that his own hyper panicking over Anika instantly disqualifies all the other shit he says just makes it all hilarious to me...also Anika manages to taunt him about stuff nicely too😆

Yeah Nakul and surbhi are really working for me too, and I think now the writers also have learnt to tweak the characters and their love story around their acting styles. Totally agree...it's merging in more organically together now...if indeed that's what the writers have done, then good call...rather than trying to remodel them into typical Gul leads.
Surbhi is really good ofc, I really like the range she has and especially her dialogue delivery, but I also appreciate the little tics and quirks Nakuul brings to Shivaay rather than going fully M&B intense (which he's really not good at). It helps to set Shivaay apart from Gul's usual template and is nice to watch. Surbhi was adorable to me since day one...she brings a distinct flavor of her own to the typical bubbly girl template that Gul enjoys running with...that she isn't the typical slapstick kinda actress is also something I like...as for Nakul...lol@ those tics...haha yes there are some quirks that really add to the scene...like the way he will pause and mumble stuff as an afterthought at the end of a line...or the head tilts that make Shivaay look like a curious puppy😆...the non-typicalness of it is refreshing...but I would still like for him to not overdo the stuttering in the drunk scenes...it really grates😆
