I think he set that principles after that incident. By hiding the truth he is suffering a lot so he don't want to repeat it again and again by choosing family over truth he is going through the hell so he made a principal after that incident that he will not repeat the same things again in his life.

but he also did wrong.. he is responsible for that accident too.. so he should go for punishment too.. he can't hide it.. he says he tries to find out that girl.. but failed.. why he never thinks to take Police's help.. may be Police can find her.. if she was missing then she must be somewhere else.. how can he just leave this matter as it is ??😕
