You know sometimes you can just tell when things weren't planned from the beginning, Om potentially having a hand in murder is one of them. But taking into consideration the fact that this is one of 4Lions 'most prepped for' shows (and by far one of their best, IMO) I'd still like to think they wouldn't bite back on their tongues that bad.
For a man who hated his father due to (well one of the many reasons) the possibility that he either killed someone or was the reason for someone's death, it's hard to digest that he killed someone.
Or rather let me rephrase that: that he killed someone and then poured dirt over it.
So I'd still wait before making any hard and fast assumptions. Because while most of us come here with our own opinions about the channel & PH, I recall someone telling me that when the creators were designing the show (towards the end of their previous show Humsafars), they said "the artist is the soul of the show" which is why I'd like to believe somewhere, Om is as dear to Gul as he is to us. So I'm sure they wouldn't do such a 360.
Om perhaps consoling or molly-coddling Priyanka about it, is slightly more believable. But that too slightly, as he'd told Ishana in his showdown that he'd always choose the truth, regardless of what lay on the other side of the scale.
Maybe this is a proper end to Ishana, and having him introspect within himself to see maybe if he too had been hypocritical. Maybe he did put family over the truth when Tej wasn't involved, for the inclusion of Tej in just about anything makes it easier for Om to detach himself. But here it was Priyanka, a younger and dear sister that he's protective about. I'm not saying it's still consistent, it's definitely a stretch but if well executed, this could be the grey in Omkara Singh Oberoi (of the present) that takes us back to his past and in any case allows for more exploration of this character.
There are a million and one reasons I'm sure we can all name about why we love Om, but I'm sure a common one would be his humanity. But his humanity for others should remind us that he's human himself, and the only thing that really separates humans from deities is vices. Om of the past definitely had some, maybe it's time for our #OSO to do some introspection and find some within himself today, too.
Let me know what you think, I'm excited to see where this track goes, and hope it's handled well! For now let's make the most of it and see where this goes,
(I also think this might be the introduction for Omkara's love interest, though Ishana & Vrushika will and are still dearly missed).
Got a few other theories, maybe we'll see them rolled into an SS/FF?
