This is just a little feel-good fiction set in a hopefully near
future when Shivaay and OmRu would interact with Sahil. Here is a teaser😳
It was 6.30 am on a Friday when Shivaay Singh Oberoi woke up
to an eerily silent house. Strange, usually at this time of the day, his family
members are up and about, his mother screaming orders, Soumya and Rudra
arguing, while his grandmother and badi maa trying to maintain a semblance of
order.
Perhaps they would be with Anika.
Anika
He felt his lips part and smile as he thought of the riot of colours that this girl had brought into his life. She blasted her way into his life and into his family, and no one wanted her to leave. All her attempts to do so had been elaborately foiled by one or more of the Oberois deliberately, or by fate.
She was meant to stay here. The thought made Shivaay almost giddy with relief. At least that's what he called the tiny butterflies fluttering in his stomach.
Anika
Glaring at his reflection, he willed himself to snap out of it and left his room, hoping to run into her before leaving for his meetings...
...only to be accosted by a running Rudra, followed by a hassled, annoyed Om, a shouting Pinky, and an utterly confused Dadi.
'Bhaiya, bhaiya dekho sab mujhe jail bhejna chahte hain'
'WHAT. WHAT IN THE-'
'Rudra tum cheating karte ho. Tum ek baar bhi jail nahi gaye, ab chalo'
This last was delivered with the firmness of a school principal, and he looked across the sea of his family, at her, huffing like she'd been running for a long time, her braid half undone and her glorious thick hair falling on one sweaty cheek.
Anika
'Will someone tell me what is going on? Why will Rudra go to jail? Kya kiya hai tune?'
Saying which he pulled on one ear, leading him to yelp in pain.
'Ouch! Didi, dekho na. Bhaiya chodiye mujhe'
Pushing aside everyone, his Anika didi came to where Shivaay stood, looking and feeling utterly confused.
'Chodiye Rudy ko. Yeh humare beech ka maamla hai. Aap bachhon ko kyun le aate hain?'
'WHAT are you talking about?'
Finally losing patience, he walked closer to her till he could see into her eyes and asked in an exasperated tone
'Listen, Anika, I do not have time for this nonsense. Whatever madness you guys are playing at, at this hour of the morning, I DO not want to be a part of it. So please, either tell me. Or let me go'
Rolling her eyes, unaffected by his temper (which could have cut solid rocks in two), she said
'Dekhiye, aap khud ruke hue hain. Hum bohot busy hain, toh aap jaayie apna kaam kijiye. Hume bohot paise kamane hain'
Saying which, she took Rudy and walked away, with all the others following in her wake.
Well, this is what he had wanted, wasn't it? Pushing his appointments by an hour, he followed his madcap family to the living room.The sight stopped him short: They were all deeply involved in what looked like a board game. Monopoly. Anika looked up and their eyes met across the hall, she smiled a satisfied smile while he stopped and stared. Like him, she could sense him too, not quite as strongly, but it worked most of the time. He was brought to his senses by her brother, Sahil's voice
'Billu ji aap khelna chahte hain ya bas yun hi didi ko kanji aankhon se ghoorte rahenge, hmm?'
This boy. Trust this boy to say the one thing that would make 6 pairs of eyes look at him with a mlange of emotions: curiosity, satisfaction, embarrassment, irritation.
'Good morning to you too, Sahil. How are your wounds now? Kal raat tumne bohot chot khaayi maine suna Rudra se'
'Kya Billu ji, aapko toh pata hai Rudy bhaiya kitne phenku hain. Main thik hoon, aapko unse unke haal poochne chahiye'
Shivaay hid a laugh at hearing Anika's language from the mouth of this little kid who had quickly become as indispensable a member of his household as Anika. After reassuring himself that he wasn't needed (not a chance in hell), he began to leave, only to be stopped by Anika.
As he turned to ask, he almost crashed into her. As usual, they always stood too close for comfort, too far for relief. She gestured him to follow her to the kitchen, so he did, where he found his breakfast ready and packed for him.
Surprised, he looked at her standing there, shy and embarrassed.
'Mujhe laga aap subha itne busy honge ki naashta bhool jaayenge, isliye maine hi bana diya. Dariye mat, aalu nahi hai'
Shivaay smiled at her, his heart filling with something he could not admit, touched by her care and attention towards him. He stepped a bit closer to her and whispered a thanks in her ear, watching with pleasure, the flush that arose, turning her face a dewy pink. Still barely touching her ear with his lips, he added ' I hope you win. Mujhe tum haarti hui acchi nahi lagti'
And before she could reply, he left with a wide grin on his face: Today would be an amazing day.
Okay, so this was something that took too long to type. I think I'll just dictate the rest😆😆
