I think he went to see her too because he came back the next day. Unless the meeting place was far that doesn't make sense. Also the phone alibi would only buy him time and not clear his name.That ACP has to have more evidence to accuse him.

Whoever killed her probably switched the lighter that resulted in her husband's death. I'm so excited we might be getting a real villain. This show just keeps getting better and better.
