Before I start, just let me say that I'm writing this not because I still watch the show ardently, but because I've come to love Omkara's character and Kunal's portrayal of it so much, that it literally aches that both the character and Kunal himself would have to subsequently suffer because of the ego trip Gul Khan decided to go on. Thus, it'd make me extremely happy if such a different character would get the due it deserves, if not on screen, then at least in our ideas. It's futile to paint (*pun intended* 😆) a canvas of what may/may not happen, but a fan can always hope I suppose.
I love your idea. I would actually like to see someone ruthless in front of Omkara. So when the personalities would clash, we'd have fun watching it. I mean someone who manipulates and tweaks things, but is also soft-hearted and not vindictive more than necessary. Almost Ishaana style, but obviously better presented. I like how you compared it to Jessica. Quite frankly, someone like Donna would do too, since sometimes I feel they're hugely similar. Just one is a lawyer, and the other a secretary.
I also really like the idea of someone like adult Brooke Davis, for those who've watched OTH. A calculating, strong, independent businesswoman who's created her empire on her own foothold. In fact, she can be a mirror of Shivaay, who believes everything in life is a deal, and can be solved by money. Someone who keeps her heart in a shell, because she fears it to be broken by anyone at all. She can have a back story of being hurt in high school or college or perhaps having lost the love of her life in some unfortunate incident. Please no rich daddy, spoilt daughter nonsense that we've seen time and again. I'm bored of the concept that well earning, single female individuals cannot build their image in the society on their own and are shown only through family hierarchy. Someone like Omkara, who's artistic, poetic and believes so ardently in love (well apparently, since that idea keeps shifting), would probably never fall for someone like Tia, minus the rich daddy and reiki non sense. I might be interested in seeing that happen.
I've gone through some of the names mentioned on this thread. I doubt GK is going to make the same mistake again. Since popularity is clearly a problem for her, names like Krystle, Mrunal are definitely out of the picture. These are well known faces in the television industry, as popular, if not more than Vrushika. The show itself has come down to Rudra and Omkara being Bharat and Lakshman as I've heard in some episode from Anika, so I doubt their female leads can be known faces. Unless she wants more bashing on her social media. I don't know how well Kashmira Irani is, I've liked her and the Neil guy's pairing in Manmariziya, but I personally don't feel she'll go well with Kunal. Just a personal hitch. I'm not a particular fan of Monica Sehgal, I find her acting too limited. Besides again, they may be friends of Nakuul, but Gk doesn't care much beyond her personal favorites, as we've seen time and again. The rest of the names I've seen on the thread, I don't know them. Maybe they can get Twinkle Patel back in the picture. I too can't seem to understand why she wasn't selected.
They'll probably get a new girl, since that would take care of them not having to live up to people's expectations. I don't know about India, but everyone I've talked to around here, does "know"/like Omkara a lot more. At least it was the situation a couple of weeks ago. It's a character that's new and different to the eyes from the typical ones we see on Indian TV, so obviously he got insanely popular with girls. Thus bringing a new girl wouldn't hype him up more than necessary, since she'd have almost no fans and that's obviously GK's plan. I think any chances of amazing scenes like that staircase wala is probably lost now, but let's see.
