Omkara's Counterpart

As much as I am upset about Ishaana leaving, I am also trying to be optimistic about a new character opposite Omkara.

Innika and I were talking about this today, (we're on holidays at the moment and we have a shitload of time to kill) and we arrived at the conclusion that as per Daadi's prediction, Omkara should still be paired with a woman who is morally dubious.

However, unlike Ishaana who was boggled down by circumstances, I'd like a woman who chose to go down a dark road, because she wanted to rather than being influenced.

Keeping to the theme of female empowerment, I would love to see a sharp-witted, sassy barrister opposite Omkara. Lawyers manipulate situations to the advantage of their clients. They bluff and cut corners, negotiate and make backroom deals where necessary to ensure the most favourable outcome for their clients.

It would fit well with the current track as well, since Tej and Shakti need a defence lawyer. It would make for a logical new entry, if this character was helping to prove Tej and Shakti innocent. The conflict could be set-up when, if after investigation she were to discover that her clients were guilty, but she knowingly defended them and proved them innocent. As their lawyer, she would be bound to keep the truth of her clients' misdeeds to herself and thus, inadvertently lying by omission.

I hope that through the duration of the case, she would become close friends with Omkara, and that they would eventually fall in love. The greatest conflict could then take place, if he were to discover that she had deliberately fought to have his father acquitted, while being aware of his guilt. This would make for such intense angst, especially if they were already married at this point.

In terms of casting, I have no preference. I loved Vrushika Mehta and I still do, but I do not want to see her on this show again, because she honestly deserves more respect. Please do not bring her into this post, because I will not tolerate any bashing from anyone.

I must say, that this is just amazing and brilliant.😆

I have read a few of your earlier posts, but I have never really had anything to add to them, so I refrained from commenting on them😕. However, this is one post, that I couldn't stop myself from commenting.😃

Ever since Daadi came up with her theory, I have wanted Om's love interest to be a shrewd, calculative, ambitious and slightly nonchalant Lawyer.😳 Why you ask? Well merely because, although they may not lie blatantly, they twist and turn the facts, and like you said manipulate the situation to their client's benefit, and in turn their own benefit(I think happy client, more money and retainer)⭐️

In fact in one of the earlier discussions about Omkara's love interest, I had posted that I wanted a Lawyer for Omkara. At that time , I personally wanted a corporate lawyer for Om. During one the earlier episodes, where Shivaay is hospitalized and Tej brings papers to Om for the transfer of Powers from Shivaay to Om, I thought that a Lawyer should be introduced, and she could also work on the new pharma division that the Oberoi Group was going to start(God knows what happened to it).

I have always admired lawyers, especially because most of the lawyers I see, or my Knowledge about them is from English Fiction(TV shows and Books). However, I am aware that the real life of lawyers is probably not as flashy and exciting as the ones they portray in the fictional world.😲

Even in the recent episode, where Kapoors were arm-twisting Shivaay for the wedding, I thought it would be perfect to bring in some lawyer who can save the day. But your idea about a criminal defense attorney is also perfect.😊 It would be exciting to see, an unscrupulous, fast thinking and pragmatic lawyer opposite Om.😳👏

I agree with you, that they should be friends and then fall in love eventually. For the love of god, I really hope they do NOT show any shouting/ screaming matches or throwing water at each other.😃 We already have two couples on the show to do that. I love the idea of Om finding out about her manipulation' after their wedding👏, and just stretching my imagination a little bit more, it would be great if Shivaay found out before Om, and he and the girl agree that no one else should know about it. Maybe during the vanwas, Om will go away not only from his brothers, but also his wife.👏

I also think that it would be a perfect situation for them to interact with each other without Om or his brothers being wary of her.

For a moment or two, I thought that the writers could include a revenge angle now, but then I thought that after Ishaana's truth being revealed Om would (or at least should) be slightly cautious about meeting any new person, and if not Om, ShivRu would be protective of him. SO this way, since the lawyer would be helping them out, they probably wouldn't be so vigilant about her.

I don't know if you watch these shows but a Dana Scott from Suits or a Kim Caswell from Drop Dead Diva would be perfect for Om😎😳. (But for Indian TV, it's wishful thinking, Sigh!😕)

I would like to add that although I wasn't really a fan if Ishaana's characterization (I wasn't impressed with the whole being forced onto the dark path) I had nothing against Vrushika Mehtaand she is good actress, and her work was commendable. Now I'm impressed with the way she handled everything so gracefully and maturely without any grudges, especially since she's only 22👏. I really wish her all the best.

As for an actress, I would really like Adaa Khan but I guess she's busy doing the snake show(god knows why). She has a really strong screen presence. Apart from her, I guess Tridha Chaudhary would be nice too, especially because we are discussing the character of a lawyer (I haven't watched a lot of it's episodes, but she played a lawyer on a show called Dahleez). Having said all that, whoever it is, and whatever the character is, I hope that it's the one that stays. Anyway, Om's love life seems to be jinxed, 😕first Twinkle Patel and now Vrushika Mehta, hopefully third time will be a charm.⭐️😲

p.s- I am also writing a FF on Omkara and a Lawyer. Not trying to promote it here, but just thought I'd mention it.

I love this concept. I would love to see a kick-ass lawyer opposite Om. A woman who will challenge him intellectually and won't take his shit, because he can be controlling and dominating as well. I think VM would have been perfect in the role, but that's no longer possible.
Someone mentioned Kashmira Irani - I really hope it won't be her. She's hard faced, sort of like Pansy Parkinson, (Sorry babe, I know Draco & Pansy are your ship).
I think Mrunal Thakur would be perfect for the role. She's beautiful and a lovely actress. She's also tall and could look imposing.
Krystle D'souza would be great as well, but there's no way GK would pick a high profile actress like her. She's learnt her lesson with Vrush - she wouldn't want another popular actress overshadowing her other two female leads.
