So the Malika track finally comes to an end.
Yes it finally does, unfrtunately yesterday couldnt reply to your post because my windows was updating for hours🥱I am glad to see that for once they portrayed an ex as a genial, affectionate person who will be a lovely memory always- otherwise, in Indian Television, an ex-girlfriend is synonymous with a vamp.
Yep arre being an ex hardly means you'll be a vamp and try to destroy every relations of your ex bf😆, but again this is the typical way of thinking of many people, thats why they make their female leads heartwhole and without any bf until the male lead enters. And Malika seems to be the only one who can be this frank with Shivaay and call him out on his shit- If this doesn't justify the cameo, I don't see what does.
True SSO likes and respects Malika, thats why she can say and do anything, he doesnt mind😛
but truth be Malika also had a point when she said that Anika does all these things to SSO too, but SSO lets Anika go everytime( and in a way it's true, of course he goes like "dont you dare" and rebukes her, but except the 'pant phata scene' SSO never really became that angry with Anika and stopped her from all these antics, he almost tolerates everything she does lately... I remember pointing this out to Gul few weeks back, and guess she replied to me indirectly through Malika😆As an outsider who was just exposed to the ShivIka dynamic, she could see what only OmRu could...that there is something undefined and beautiful that is sprouting between Shivaay and Anika. Her letter to Anika which encouraged her to hope for love was just beautiful, and so was her advice to Shivaay to find someone who would make him happy...rather than looking at external trappings of wealth and power.
Both are stuck on their versions of love and relationship, i understand that Anika will always hv to take care of her brother, and not many man will accept a girl with a small handicapped brother, so she clearly doesnt believe in love at all
while SSO, well maybe he was warped by the relationships in his family, his mother loves money more than him, and he also saw Tej-Jhanvi's broken relationships, hence he has closed his heart for any stranger outside his familyIn any case, I do think the cameo was stretched and the plot revolving around Malika problematic and far from being perfect, but Gul did make some meaningful points about female empowerment in the interim, and also made Malika a device to make Shivaay introspect about his attitude towards Anika. If anything I applaud Gul for daring to show these things in a largely regressive TV space. Good job, Gul!Malika running away wasnt a good thing, but what came afterwards and her fighting for her individuality despite loving SVR was well shown... It's true that once a girl marries, she stops being a girl, stop taking care of herself and stops doing things which she loves, she ends up being a wife, DIL and mother...Coming to the precap...I also anticipated why Shivaay should want a housewife as his life partner- because if you look closely at the Oberoi family, all the women are cast into traditional roles; even Prinku does not get the privileges that her brothers get. It has always been implied that the Oberois are traditionalists.
I understand that SSO believes in equality, but that ardly means he wants a working wife😆... Typical men actually😆And the very fact that Shivaay let go of someone like Malika and chose a flowerpot like Tia shows you that what kind of a partner he wants- someone who can be a social equal accompanying him to gatherings and bearing his children and furthering his bloodline- as sad as it sounds. As he says, all relationships, including marriage, is a deal for him🥱He wants to have kids of good lineage, bloodline and of course everything is a profit making deal for him... and Tia is a 1500 crore merger deal for him. I would hv been sad for Tia or any girl getting married under such conditions, but it seems Tia knows and accept it😛If you are wondering about why Shivaay despite being a Cambridge-return should have an attitude like this- well, education does not automatically equate to enlightenment, does it? I guess he supports women empowerment as an abstract idea, but for himself prefers a partner who will merely be a wife and a mother. His takkar ka pyaar Anika will give him an education in this matter that he will never forget:)
education doesnt also mean that one forgets what we have learnt through examples by our parents and our society. yes education makes one more open-minded in dealing with different situations, but learning something and really applying them are two different things😛Om, on the contrary is a sensitive man who has been privy to the sufferings of his mom. No wonder that he feels deeply about why women should have identities of their own. His mom does not have the freedom to make decisions because she is confined to being an Oberoi bahu...who is stuck in a dysfunctional marriage and has to deal with her husband's adultery.Om doesnt care about wealth, status, lineage... he likes people for what they are, he's sensitive enough to feel the pain around him, and the worst seeing his mother drinking everyday and not being able to leave Tej despite Tej being unfaithful, this is definitely because Jhanvi doesnt have any personality except being Tej's wife and Oberoi's elder bahuEssentially what this track did was firmly establish the foreshadowings with respect to the ShivIka ship as well as the ideological differences between the ObBros and their attitude towards women. I am happy that the main plot can now move ahead and we can see what lies in store for our Ishqbaaazes😊
I still feel that we wont require villains in Shivika's love story, because SSO's obsession for wealth, lineage and bloodline will be the real villains between them...
for SSO to love and wholly accept Anika, he'll have to forego many things😊😊
