I still believe in Rudra being illegitimate theory.
I feel maybe in childhood Om bullied Ru or maybe he was the dominant one and not shivaay.He was so pissed with Tejvi that he almost vented his entire frustration on little Ru.Later with the passage of Time,Om got attached to Ru but Ru still couldn't forget what has Om done to him in childhood. Nevertheless he loves Om and Om loves him back equally.But deep inside Om feels guilty and thus he is so.protective about Ru now

Tej was a hero for Omkara and therefore his becoming the villain affected him so much, on the other hand for Rudra Tej was always Amrish Puri, so it did not matter to him what or how he did

Even in his hatred, his anger, we can find love of Om for Tej
