I actually heard about Ishana's character before watching her onscreen. I was taking a little break from Ishqbaaz, but people on the forum kept talking about how one of the new female leads is a con artist and I was like, "a female lead with gray shades? a female leads who's flawed? a female lead who's unconventional in every way possible? sign me up!" Vrushika Mehta playing Ishana was just the cherry on the top, a little something extra. I fell in love with Ishana as a character, and I honestly didn't like Vrushika's portrayal of her until yesterday because she actually had a good scene for once where she gets to showcase her talent. Bottom line is, I've been Vrushika's fan for years now, but that doesn't mean that I defend Ishana for her sake. I defend Ishana because she's one of my favorite characters, not because Vrushika Mehta plays her.
