Besides they know Gayathri is trying to kill Shivaay so they will not suspect any other involvement especially because Gayathri comes across as a mad woman grieving her husband's death, thirsty for revenge from the family who are the reason for his death.

True, I guess. Although, they could suspect that someone's helping Gayathri - how else would that woman be able to do all this to them? She's not well-off, without support from behind she wouldn't be able to go this far.

What I do not like about Indian shows is that they start off with characters who are astute and perceptive but do not hesitate to dumb them down to support the story line.

Shivaay is supposed to be a ruthless business tycoon, someone who is a popular name in the business world and a celebrity figure in the country. One cannot reach such success without being perceptive and astute. Reading people and taking calculated risks with regards to them based on your judgement is a critical quality that is a must for a person like him. The CVs have told us that Shivaay is so. But they have showed the opposite of that when it came to the whole chip issue. And if we consider that his logic was overridden by his anger and emotions, nothing stopped him from thinking after the anger cooled off. And this part needed to be addressed without showing Shivaay as dumb.

They're showing the same thing wrt to Omkara. In his case, they showed him to be perceptive, but then immediately dumbed him down when it came to Ridhima and, more so, Ishana.

For some reason, they can't address this part of the character traits with finesse.
