She stared at him.
The torrent of rain pouring on her, hitting her fiercely didn't bother her even the slightest as her eyes pinned at his visage.
Her kohl lidded eyes glared into his blue gaze, unfaltering and steady burning with a raging hatred.
Every breathe she heaved seemed to have become a burden on her as she stood in proximity to the person who had been single-handedly responsible for destroying her life, shredding her dreams into pieces.
This was the person who had drilled into her dignity leaving it blackened and blotted with holes of shame and humiliation.
Her thoughts breached to the memories of her brother who was waiting for her back home, sure that his sister would take him away from the darkness that had shadowed his life till date. Her imagination brought forth his innocent face, shining with happiness and looking up at her; only to fall down in despair.
Her heart throbbed and a sharp glaze of pain sheared through her and she stumbled back. The pain was so intense and harsh that her brain blanked out for a moment as she tightly wrapped her hands around her waist as if to hide her shivering frame.
The events of the day had finally caught up to her and as she stood there with the raining pouring down in gallons, she tried to frantically grapple with the realization that, she had failed.
She had lost!
Her only family is not hers anymore. She had lost her brother, this time forever.
Her lips trembled as droplets of water dripped down the terrains of her face. Her gaze blankly fixated at nothing.
It was then, at that moment of time when finally after holding and binding them captive with her sheer strength of will, the cuffs loosened.
Her determination lost, will weakened and self-confidence tarnished.
And then her tears broke free!
They fell with a deranged dynamic, uncloaking all her miseries and pain for the world to see. They ran, dashed and careened, carrying with them the last remaining fragile shards of her pathetic shield; leaving her jeopardised and vulnerable.
A sob choked her.
The surroundings seemed to falter. A sudden seam of darkness drifted up to her, strangling her hopes, her dreams and soaking up all the brightness of her life.
Her sun disappeared in a stroke of the hand and the sudden blackness shook her to the very depths of her core.
Her head hurt. It throbbed in a tandem of its own, dragging her towards a Tartarus of her own. She tried to struggle free, shout out for help, but her voice remained choked and her mouth mum.
It was the deepest end of despair that she found herself in, a growing desperation gnawing inside her to climb out of it and a hopelessness that weighed her courage and the withers of her optimism.
She tried to heave in a deep breath and then the receding pain came back in full onslaught. Memories of her brother flittered through, her failure grating her deeper and deeper.
The repercussions and consequences raised their crooked heads in their devilish glory. The shock slammed into her and a nauseas feeling erupted in her. A vividness breached her, where she was left behind, abandoned and alone; once again.
Terror and a sense of alarm gripped her. She could not let Sahil be taken away from her. He was her lifeline. He had to stay with her. She needed him.
Her breathing became hoarse and her sight faltered. Her head swam losing the ability to think of anything. Fear of losing her Sahil forever squeezed around her heart and it became an imprinted wound on her failing system.
Her breathe choked and her knees buckled unable to bear the weight of her body.
Darkness appeared before her eyes.
And then she blacked out.

He stared at the limp figure on the ground and revelled in a sense of precarious satisfaction. His blue eyes glittered coldly as he surveyed the pallor of her face and the despair of her defeat still visible on her unconscious face.
A smirk spread on his face. He raised his face upwards and let the shower of rain hit him in all their glory. The sharp jets alighted in him the settling joy and egoistic pleasure of his successful victory.
His mind drifted to his brother; the brother who's every breath stamped the continuation of his survival.
He stiffened as the memory of his brother floating on the water rose up in his mind and a renewed sense of hatred grew in him, for the woman because of whom he had nearly lost his brother. He opened his eyes and focused at her.
There was a startling intensity with his the hate burnt in his eyes, growling and gripping entrancing the waves of anger and loathing to an intricate thorny web.
He stalked to her fallen frame and crouched down with the lethal grace of a panther. His fingers gently slid away loop of hair hiding her face from his view.
The rain increased its deranged rhythm and his eyes pinned at her visage as if photocopying it for future purpose.
His fingers drifted to her temple and gently caressed to her cheek. They sang an unknown song, as they softly gripped her nape and the very next second wrenched her body upwards.
Her face was closer now and he stared.
Her dark lashes hid those poisonous eyes with which she would judge him, hurt his pride, burn in virtuous anger as her gutsy repertoire threw sharp barbs at him.
Oh how much he hated her!
She was nobody. A stupid, poor, idealistic, idiotic middle class gold-digger!
In comparison to her, he was a prince.
Still this stupid thick-skulled woman would not bend. She would stare at him, glare as if he was the one being a nuisance, insult him to his face and disrespect his name in a second.
The first few times it had astounded him and then slowly his dignity started feeling the impact. Her stupid dialogues and actions would reverberate in his mind; stealing the much needed rest in the nights.
He had become mad, enraged and obsessed.
So how could he let her be happy!
If he suffered, then so will she!
