Chapter 1 â The Tale of Their Lives
He walked amongst the broken and battered, his eyes fixed on a distant spot without any expression. A new day on the horizon but for them, it meant another day which they survived, another day where they could plot his downfall, and another day he breathes after insulting him again. Every time they come across, he leaves a trail of blood only for him to see, every time they fight, he leaves him alive to humiliate him, every day he lives is because he wants him to live. He dies a thousand deaths every day, but he was waiting for the one moment where his one mistake would give him the upper hand, just one-day where he would destroy him and calm his burning heart. All he needed was just one killing stroke, but he was a patient man, after all, he was waiting for so many years to bring him down and every time, he loses he fights back again but not today. All limits have been crossed now, every way leading towards his destruction will burn him, he ensured that. This time the game must be for his heart which people think doesnât exist, oh but he knows the one he yearns for, the one he always wanted, the one always on his radar. He would make sure his love would be his downfall. Kabir Raichand was a patient man but now the game has reached its final stage, even he won't know what trap he has woven for him.
He was looking for him when he saw them, his boss with a Whiskey in his hands staring out of the window, his tall frame visible from where he was standing. His back turned towards the family but only he knew it was his way of standing between the troubles which could harm them. Today again that inspector had disturbed his peace, again blood had been shed and he was given another chance to live, the reason no one ever knew, and his question regarding the same was as always met the stoic silence. His boss was listening to his sister, but he knew his mind was calculating the next move, the next wave of destruction for him, preparing for the next battle which could harm them. This time he knew the target wonât be the family, it would be him, he could see that in the inspectorâs madding eyes and dubious smiles. The house was a fortress, the family would be safe, but he was sure a storm was coming which could destroy multiple lives, he could feel it in his veins. As if sensing his turmoil, she turned away from her brother and looked at him trying to read his eyes but finding nothing. She smiled to calm him, and he knew only Sia Raisinghania had the power to calm him even from a distance. In the dark world filled with betrayals and blood, he was lucky to have her, his own piece of sunshine to protect and cherish and the world knew that Angre Mallik would fight death for her
Roses were pretty, but they came with thorns, the same could be said for her life also. She would have never thought to reach to a place where she could live independently by herself but now as she was unpacking the last of the boxes, she was glad for all the curve balls life threw at her. They made her stronger, hopefully, the thorns in her life were now gone and a simple living could be in her future. There was nothing more than peace of mind which she wanted, the money never attracted her and love well she was unlucky there so no hopes. Being an orphan Ridhima Sharma always craved unconditional love but as she learned to stand in this world, she understood love was a façade that wanted to believe in. The one she thought was her true love preferred the company of other women whereas the one who loved her was just a friend for her, yet she gave in hoping that she might eventually fall for him. It was her guilt for not reciprocating his love or proving her commitment to a relationship she accepted which made her walk-in Lionâs den just for a few days only. The only thing Kabir had ever wanted from her to venture into the VR mansion and get her out from there and hopefully after this was done, she would be back to her simple life
She was in hell every day, away from her son, and stuck in this surrogate family which she had to pretend to love and care for every day. She had to maintain the façade of being the perfect mother, perfect wife, and above all the perfect daughter-in-law. Despite the fact, she was married to this family for the last 20 years but she yet to have his acceptance. Her husband on her death bed, fighting for his life every day was one solace she had. She just needed to wait till he was dead and one roadblock out of her way now. After him gone there was only one person who remained and she was sure her son was already plotting their final game. They played this game for 20 years and just a few more months wonât hurt. She was Anupriya Raisinghania and well she was as patient as her son.
He sat in his is room nursing a drink in his hand, the only time when could let himself relax. Today was another day where he thwarted the plans of that inspector, but he knew all this was leading to something bigger, something which was hidden in the shadows away from his vision. He could feel a storm brewing and had already placed the measures to protect them but there was still a nagging feeling which didnât let him rest. He was an anomaly in his family, being the eldest he was loved by all but hated by his father who was currently breathing his last, and a stepmother who wanted his trust, but he had learned this lesson the hard way in his childhood. In their life to survive, they could not trust their own shadow or their own blood. He wasnât feared in their world for his ruthlessness but for his sight from which no one could ever escape. He was the predator, the one whom everyone feared, some worshipped but none choose to cross. He was death and he was danger; he was VANSH RAI SINGHANIA
