A take on ‘Love Triangle’ content on Hindi TV shows!

Love triangle is not a new content on Indian Television. But for a change main plot revolves around ‘love angle’ as earlier it is used to be a short track to spice up the story! Before makers used to bring love interest of male or female lead to take the story forward, now show actual storyline revolves around the third angle. The third angle in the story is fetching huge TRP to the shows (colors show ‘Choti Sardaarni’ is the proof). Along with Choti Sarrdarrni few more ITV current soaps are fast making their place on TRP chart by framing ‘love angle’ as the core plot. Hence, we can say that third angle is cliché, yet favorite concept of Hindi shows.

In our Saturday Shout-out segment, we are going to highlight top shows whose storyline mainly revolves around ‘third angle’.

Barrister Babu:

Colors show Barrister Babu’s plot revolves around the ‘Anirudh and Bondita’. Anirudh weds a 8 years old girl to save her from old custom due to which villagers was about to burn her alive under ‘sati pratha’. Clueless about the real fact, Bondita happily accompanies Anirudh to his place. There, Anirudh who was already in love with Saudamini feels guilty for betraying her. Saudamini then vows to make Bondita’s life hell. The equation between (Bondita, Anirudh and Saudamini) became the main attraction of the show. Saudamini keeps trying to trouble Bondita to kick her out from Anirudh’s life.

Choti Sardaarni:

Colors popular daily too is a love triangle between Meher, Sarabjeet and Manav. Manav was Meher’s first love but twists in the tale made her marry Sarabjeet. Further, Meher falls in love with Sarabjeet but Manav made his re-entry in Meher’s life. The trio angle in the story is fetching audience attention.

Anupama:

Star Plus ‘Anupama’ is story of a housewife, who sacrifice her happiness for the sake of her family. But her husband extra-marital affair twist brings the major development in the storyline of the plot. Vanraj wants both Anupama and Kavya in his life.

Ishq Mein Marjawan:

Thriller show, yet plot revolve around love angle between Vansh, Riddhima and Kabir. Story starts with Kabir and Riddhima’s love story later, Riddhima marries Vansh and trio life get connected with each other.

Ghum Hai KisiKey Pyaar Mein:

Star Plus serial ‘Ghum Hai KisiKey Pyaar Mein’ plot revolves around Virat, Pakhi and Sayi. In order to keep his promise, Virat sacrifice Pakhi’s love and marries Sayi.

Imlie:

Upcoming show Imlie’s concept too will revolve around triangle love story. In the promo it is seen, city boy marries tribal girl ‘Imlie’ under unfavourable condition. Back to his place; his girlfriend marks her entry in his life. It will be interesting to watch, do this love triangle will be able to make a place in audience heart or not!
