Hammie the only reason I would come close enough to hold your collar would be to tell you how tremendous you are at catching my attention with your take every day...

Viplav handled his responsibilities with aplomb and had everyone singing and dancing and having a jolly good time.

The only sour puss there was the would be groom Raj with his scowl at remembering Dhaani with vengeance in his heart. Fool !! lusting after another woman while promising to love honour another woman for money.😡

I had never heard of this tearing of grooms shirt before, but here it seemed to fit as you so nicely put it , to tear the "Naqab" off this toothy buffoon.

The Ashram scene was touching in its simplicity with shy Dhaani in a red sari and the older ladies aglow with pride to see their Dhaani all decked up and Raj Laxmi dancing in joy for her friend. No tension till Dhaani's sari is ripped and of course Dulari and her ever present pessimistic head rears to stop everyone in their track.

The resident Klepto is at it again with trying to take the gold thread out of Shallu's Lehngah, what is that lady doing there is beyond me. 😕

The Haldi between Dhaani and Viplav was sensual and the best part of this episode.
Both of them made it memorable. Good to see Dhaani coming out of her shell.

After many tries Dhaani eventually gets to see Raja's face and both Dhaani and Raja are shocked... so we wait to see whether this wedding will happen of will it be derailed by some shocking revelations...

Thank you Hammie, for making it even more interesting with your take...

Take care. Catch you again tomorrow and will bask in the delight of yet another of your great musings...

hi aimf..😊
A few thoughts from me:
good could do with some wise words.. snigger snigger...
--Why is it that in all serials weddings are interrupted by big revelations?😆 ye saadi nehi ho sakte!
its like when the priest say , is there any one here who opposes this man from wedding this woman? speak now or forever hold your piece!..

As you say, Shalu's fate hangs in balance. However, if I were in DT's place, I would stop the wedding. DT hates Dhani to be his grand-daughter-in-law, but he knows her to be a truthful lass. Besides she has also saved his life, and it is clear that in this situation Dhani has nothing to gain by stopping the wedding... yes its true aimf.. but kanak will say its in dhani's stars..in auspicious
but would be great if DT supports her
--Interestingly, the bridegroom's tearing of the shirt by the best man is considered lucky, but the tearing of the bride's sari by her friend is considered inauspicious. Double standards?
aimf.. viplav is the brides brother... who does the tearing of the kurta.. never heard of this rasam.. tried to check on Maharastrain site too no mention.. may be it was tom foolery between brides bro with his sisters hubby????.. it was considered auspicious...😆but dhani sari.. thanks to dulari and her fears, its bad luck...
--Raja's disrobing was fun to watch --as you say it has many layers of meaning. The thought that occurred in aimf's mind was that Raja got his just desserts for having nefarious intentions on Dhani and visually disrobing her. That Raja did not wish to participate in the kurta phaadna ceremony shows that he is uncomfortable being vulnerable; yet he has no qualms of taking advantage of others in vulnerable situations, be it Dhani, or now, Shalu.
yess!this seems a plausible explanation.. it fits well ..there was guilt in his face..

--Dhani is brave to out herself and go stop the wedding. She is one spunky girl. This is why she is so dear to Viplav, as he loves this quality about her.
yes I TELL YOu i hit the roof with applause! yeahhh! she did my family proud!! now lets see if viplav too roars in court...
--A blooper in the precap? I thought I saw Aunty Klepto not recognise Dhani. She was calling her "E Ladki," rather than by her name. Wasn't Aunty Klepto also in Dulari's photo collection that was recently destroyed? Then how could she not recognise Dhani? Perhaps I am mistaken, or perhaps, it will play out differently. We will wait and watch. yes you are right aimf! she was in dulari dhani picture... hayeee cant wait to see the Jhansi ke rani.. our Durga /dhani in action love such scenes!

Thank you, Hammie. Sleep summons. Take care and be well.
thanks so much aimf.. wwas looking around for your comments.. wonder what sammy has to say about the kurta phar bit... sorryfor replying in fits nd starts , damned sales calls 😡 now phone off the hook... thanks for uour wise thoughts ,much love yours hammie

Ah Catch you by the collar - I am going by the literal meaning today

Now now..such an apt Title ..at least for me . The highlight in this episode was a dapper Viplav / Mishal in Black and my thought was to catch him by the collar , bring him close , very close and 🤬 . BUt you are the sensible one Hammie keeping a reign on your emotions and finding meaning and details which we all miss. A thumbs up to you for keeping us honest.

As for the episode which i thought was loaded with symbolism . Do the writers go that deep or is it us that find a layer that does not exist . @aimf wrote a beautiful take and so did others finding finer points that make you rethink the 20 mins of execution. Like you all me too found a few links that were interesting.

First of course is the entire wedding ceremony happening with a sort of replica at the Ashram. Kanak's two children getting married , one she is aware of and the other she is not. While a mehendi is conducted at AN Viplav & Dhani conduct a private ceremony of their own . Viplav starts the sangeet at his end while RL begins her merriment for her frend at hers. Dhani wanting to be part of all the functions , after all its her SIL's wedding and Viplav making sure that she is included in everything. Shallu's wedding is all pomp and show with a man who cannot be trusted and a secret ( already happened ) wedding of Viplav with no fineries to a girl who thinks nothing but the welfare of his family. The cheesy "Do jism ek jaan .." settled in and was able to see a bigger picture of the events . Indeed Viplav & Dhani are so attuned in their thoughts and need for each other.

And the most symbolic of all was the "tearing of the kurta " I for one have never heard of this ceremony . @Dolly called it - Viplav tearing raja apart ...You describe it as - Viplav lays bare his chest ...and me - Disrobing Raja in public. Raja on the other hand takes this to mean "Wait saale sahib when the news of Dhani being Suman breaks your heart into two ..." Again a contrast for the audience . Will Viplav support Dhani or will he not ... !!! It should n't be very long before we get to know this.

With the end game you are concerned about its outcome on Shallu , she is the daughter of the house. While she is worthy of compassion and empathy , to me she is a model for women and young girls who hinge their lives on finding a suitable partners for themselves. Girls who not by their own fault have no confidence or the support to do something worthwhile with their existence . Shallu has not been allowed to make her own choices nor does she understand Raja's disregard of her . She has been ridiculed by her own mother and finds marriage to be her escape. Will Shallu reject the marriage when she knows about Raja or will she blame Dhani ? How different is she from Suvarna who decided to marry Trip despite his faults . will shallu become stronger and self aware after the breakup ( if that happens ) . I very much doubt it and that to me is why I don't feel sorry for her. Life teaches lessons and this is her opportunity to learn one. I for one am such a such a supporter of women standing up for themselves ...Sorry if I sound unsympathetic for this character.

That's all from me Hammie. A couple of small points . kanak has quietened lately and I like her latest getup. Looks very dignified. Dhani in red saree was so simple and plain loved her And of course Lord of the manor - As i said in the start looks delicious.

Talk to you soon. Hugs.

Adding sura's link to make my point ; Woohooo
