IKRS Saturday 27^th February 2016 ep 175 My Take ~Nostalgic Incursion

Raja Awasthi who himself is a gift to the Tirpathi family, comes bearing gifts for each member of his new family, to show gratitude.. besides he seems to possess a natural gift of making people feel at ease with his presence.. Shalu certainly considers her would be husband, a gift of the gods themselves, and shares this fact with her brother Viplav who beams with joy to find that his sister approves of her future husband.

How can Viplav forget to provide happiness and pleasure to his tucked away secret bride with a surprise visit bearing a gift too! Impulsive as always, he turns up during the day this time .. yes she is at her wits end at seeing him, but then that's the joy in the activity for him! A surprise gift! One he doesn't want her to see till he tells her too.. it's a solitary fish in a globe glass bowl.. suspense it is for Dhani ,while he places it on the wall unit. Then comes the blind fold.. that prevents Dhani from seeing.. Viplav's voice in the present sounds, just trust me, overtaken by the voice of the past ,if you don't like seeing it then here, I blind fold you.. what are you doing? she had screamed in horrific unseen danger! In the past.. in the present she asks Viplav, why the blind fold? but gently he reminds her , he doesn't want her to see her surprise as yet.. it'll be over soon, her enforced visual ban.. just do as he tells her..nostalgia sounds man's harsh voice that scolds her to move on and not to look behind!.. now move ahead! Voices past and present mix.. a bit on the left and on the right ..straight ahead.. the darkness frays her nerves it's a recollection of a past event, how real it feels.. now and then.. Dhani panics! She can see a bottle of alcohol..her nervous finger tips misses the bottle! Then, It had crashed to the floor ,now the fish bowl crashes to the floor! recollections of physical assault upon her body! Even now her arm felt the burn of his twisted grip! Dhani pulls off the blindfold , all is clear now! She's in the present times not.. in that moment of nostalgic incursion into her present life.. the fish needs water! It will live.. Dhani ensures it and fills a metal bowl and returns the gasping fish to fresh water.. This scene is a credit to the cvs in terms of symbolisms.. Firstly the use of blind fold, prevents someone from seeing.. covering the eyes by putting a piece of material over another's eyes, like Dhani's husband did in the past.. and Viplav does so in the present.. Blind fold prevents one from understanding clearly.. in this scene ,it's Viplav he fails to see why Dhani panicked!her asking him to leave as its day time and he could be found out. Plus Dhani decides, its enough to tell him something similar happened in her past that frightened her ,as celebrations are on in his household regards Shalu's wedding.. the next symbol is that of the fish.. many phrases are coined with this cold blooded vertebrate.. Dhani's ex husband could may well have been a man who didn't love her.. she was "a fish out of water"..ill at ease, with his life style.. the images of the alcohol bottle ,suggested that he "drank like a fish" meaning a habitual drinker, an alcoholic, and may well, "have other fish to fry" meaning, he may have other interesting things to do, like womanising. Now the symbol of the glass bowl, an outer covering.. Dhani's first marriage, transparent, that all was not well, easily broken.. his death a mystery to us. The glass bowl could also be a symbol of Viplav and Dhani's transparent relationship. Their love , but not their marriage as yet ,since its hidden from all and lastly for Dhani.. the glass like bond of theirs can be subject to breakage from Dhani's past. In the main, Viplav continues to be her protective cover like the glass bowl. Now the symbol of Breaking glass, there are many interpretations and connotations to this too and we can chose which ever best fits the tone of our story's current track..many believe breaking glass, its an ill omen that points to some disappointment coming to one's life..some changes to one's life, or something dangerous and horrificis heading one's way.. some also believe that glass symbolizes the separation between the physical and spiritual plains and that it might be some form of communication from the spiritual side. Looking at Dhani's past in FB's and her recent dread of her past ,especially after hearing the name Raja Awasthi, all the connotations seem to fit in some way or the other.. However the final one , is one that Dhani lives her life by.. her constant devotion to her spiritual deities.. that have gifted her Viplav as her husband. Who can erase and alleviate all her fears , if only she shares her past with him fully..

Raja meets Shalu in the lounge ,wants to know where Viplav's room.. she tells him. Disinterested he walks away nearly, then remembers the purpose of his being in this house and politely compliments on her sense of style.. Shalu is clearly in seventh heaven! It's a good thing that Kanak got to viplav's room first to remove Dhani's collage.. much repulsed she rips Dhani's photo ,the one he uses to have his solitary one to ones with her. Grinding her teeth , and abusing Dhani she rips and scrunches, Dhani's picture and chucks it at door , with a symbolic , thank god she's out of my sons life now she's good riddance! and her place is not in Viplav's room any more. The ripped picture ends up before Raja s feet who comes to see Viplav in his room.. he picks up the pieces of the photograph but misses the face..dhani's face.. a storm blows into the ashram too as Dhani feels Kanak's negative towards her ,and Dhani calls to her gods surrounded by fears and insecurities , help me god ,protect me god! Raja wants to know where Viplav is? and Kanak replies outside the house.. so he doesn't enter the room ,as some pictures of the ashram collage are still on the wall.. Kanak carries on her frantic ripping of Dhani's picture , cussing her , calling her an ill fated witch! ..

Viplav returns to his room sits and wonders, how come she became so frightened he'd never seen her like that before, maybe it was the shattering glass that unnerved her? May be.. let me find out anyway.. he rings her ,she answers and would he believe it? she was waiting for him outside his house..dhani ,says yes she remembers he told her he'll eat with his family due to Shalu's husband..but she remembers her bit and is waiting for him with some food.. Viplav leaps for joy and races down to meet her, lifts her up ecstatic and checks her out in her baby pink georgette sari, wow stunning! and she apologizes for being short with her. Viplav sits her down on the garden swing seat and asks her, breaking glass unnerved her so much? he's never seen her like this before..dhani stares at him and wonders, he's given her an opening to speak, by assuming its broken glass that did it..but.. should she tell him that the shattered glass was nostalgic of a horrific time.. each piece of glass cut into her spirit , her mind her heart.. conjured up bad memories of the past.. which now invade her future..its in her hands to tell her beloved Viplav, before her this nostalgic incursion finishes her off.. seek his help share with him.. Dhani repeats , yes it was breaking glass that made her frightened, she was reminded of something that happened to her in her past...it all came before her eyes so she was frightened..worried Viplav asks, what really happened to her in the past ?she replies nervously ,her marriage , plus other things, suffered a lot of pain, tried to tell him plenty of times..but Viplav winks at her lightly and tells her to forget everything , for he'll give her so much love that she'll forget all about her past! and he whistles the somber atmosphere and only wants her to enjoy the moments..

Dhani knows that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach so she made this food especially for him.. he loves the fragrance of the food ,although more so as she made it .. and smells the tasty aroma.. he tells her he ate little deliberately at the table as he knew he would somehow eat with her too.. both loving feed each spoonfuls of affection , loving exchanges of fondness and happily realize that food tastes million times better when feed by the hand of the beloved.. Should Viplav have listened to her past now? seeing that she has brought food for him, and give up this fantastic time of sharing food , loving each other with every morsel.. ma be he does well to defer listening to her past ,because he doesn't want her to go through misery again by recounting her past before.. him.. for he is with her now and all he sees is their future together!

Dhani tells him , he can finish off while, she leaves now. But he grabs her hands and expects an after dinner dessert from her.. Raja comes down the stairs meaning to catch Viplav outside.. Raja knocks his knee against a table.. metal ornament falls on the floor with a clang! viplav Dhani look back to the house.. then Viplav takes Dhani by the arm and tells her, she looks gorgeous, but she'd better disappear fast before someone comes.. While Dhani leaves Viplav , Raja comes for him into the garden.. Viplav invites him to sit in the same place on the swing where Dhani had sat. viplav asks him brotherly questions about his education, etc. Raja tells him they had lived in Kanpur but something happened and they had to move to Allahbad . Viplav offers him food made ny Dhani.. here taste this mind blowing food, nothing like he's never tasted before anywhere in the world.. Viplav lovingly offers him his spoon and Raja tastes it and he is gripped by nostalgia of one whose hand had the same taste as this!.. he suddenly asks Viplav.. who cooked this food, Viplav frowns,then replies, cockily, someone close.. why didn't he like the taste? Pensively Raja replies, noo he likes it ,but it reminds him of someone.. and Viplav jokes, hey who did he remember,he's getting married in twenty days time.. Raja laughs, no its not like that.. Viplav's phone rings and he goes aside to answer it .. Raja sits surrounded by his nostalgic moments.. he pulls out his wallet from his pocket.. flips it open and looks at the picture of a smiling picture Dhani her head covered with a red bridal chunni!!! What? ...where ever you are I will seek you out.. says Raja..viplav chats to his wife Dhani over the phone.. while Raja continues to stare at Dhani s picture. Viplav ends his chat and then both men return to the house.. leaving us with a bunch of questions.. was Dhani married to Raja?.. was Dhani ever a widow? did she run away from home with Raja?.. Dhani's past now stands more exciting than her present..

Dhani in a pink sari steals her way back to the ashram her face complete hidden by her lowered pallu.. Viplav returns to his room phones Dhani as soon as she enters her room ,wants to know if she has reached safely.. also he tells her ,after she left , he let Raja taste her food ,he loved! dhani grows wary.. Viplav adds , he said he tasted this food before too, you never know he might have tasted her food before! Dhani is extremely shaken and nervously she replies, oh she's happy to hear this.. Raja ji liked her food..viplav suggests, she has too meet him ,tomorrow they are all heading for the temple.. she should come too and see what he's like.. Dhani turns and becomes silent as rajlaxmi stands behind her.. Viplav waits for her answer on the phone..tries to act cheeky and romantic ,while Dhani refrains to reply to him.. he realizes she's not alone and raj laxmi smiles knowingly..and teases her, have she just come after getting married? Or after her consummation night ? Dhani denies it and her friend teases her ,there was a time when she was even reluctant to smile,kept to all the tenets of widow hood.. never said a word, but today seeing her dressed in a colorful sari and vermillion in her hair parting.. Dhani what is the meaning of all this..rajlaxmi finds out the truth about Dhani..

Fairly good episode.. it was largely the symbolism that impressed me most in this pacy episode.. with questions.. raising heads.. hamlet53 28.2.16

Always bringing interesting perspective to the episodes. I think for the last few episodes post the marriage IKRS is back to the standard it started out as. The introduction of new characters has certainly helped widen the storylines to be explored. I wish they could have expanded on Tripurari's character also.
hi captkirk,😊 yes I too wished that trips character could have been stretched.. but I suspect in view of the actor leaving.. a fresh one in brought.. cvs cant really have x3 crooks running the show.. now I too hope the story doesn't turn into a saas bahu drama dhani/kanak.. shalu/sasuma thanks so much for reading and giving an interesting comment...much love hammie

D way u described d inner fear of dhani, loved it.very well said her past is much more interesting now , than her present. hopefully.. both will feature side by side and create more interest in the story
