I don't get it either, like you know the way Kanak insults Dhaani? Doesn't she have the fact in mind that maybe one day she might have to face the situation. doesn't really make much sense to me.

Unfortunately thats the reality of most societies .. At some places its better than what is shown on show but in some its as bad as its shown in IKRS.

Exactly...But it more of seems her brain work to be a yes man to DT ...and however sadist it might sound..i wish for her to experience the stigma that she has been throwing around , as an effect of karma being a bitch!!

To understand more of how society looks upon the widows try to watch the movie WATER by Deepak Mehta, it's an eye opener.

Thanks for all the responses guys 😃
So if I understood correctly, a woman's husband passing away is seen as a punishment God ? As a result of this the person is considered bad luck to people around them?

However the same wouldn't apply to men? Does that mean men can remarry and don't have to wear white clothes?

Not all families practice such pathetic things. But, many do. And goes around in rich, poor families, city, villages. All to do with the thinking.

hope this serial will bring a change in thinking of everyone towards widows😳

I hope so too. though not many people change at all even when they do watch these shows. Don't know if you have seen another Colors show Balika Vadhu, we were expecting child marriages to go down that year bcoz the show was such a hit but on the contrary more such marriages too place 😕
I fail to understand why this happened. But then, I've read news of girls calling up cops to save them from an early marriage and so maybe the younger generation is taking the right message 😊

Even now in some conventional families widows are not invited for auspicious functions . Even then they are not supposed to stand in the forefront and so on.
