A caring and responsible mother brings back her daughter home safe and sound. A lot happened outside the somewhat safe parameters of the widows refuge .Dhani is welcomed back and is supported also by the rest of the widows who witnessed the highly strung reaction of a mother whose only possession her daughter, not only goes missing, but is subjected to ridicule for being characterless widow . Dulari as the sometime back, violent mother now tenders a public apology to her daughter, in the hope that some of her anguish at beating up her young woman of a daughter is somewhat lessened. Dulari confesses before Dhani and others present , how her anger was ignited by a telling newspaper photo print of her and that lawyer! How easily the apology follows then, from a mother to her girl child, a widow. How easily forgiveness flows. Washes all sorrow away through tears ,of anxiety and hopelessness! from both mother.. and daughter, as they simultaneously. The divine maternal emotional senses, unites all the widows as they behold with their eyes, the aggrieved mother daughter now rejoiced by their reunion.
Once the issue of bringing back Dhani is done and dusted. Dulari's realistic thinking comes into place and she shows doubt in the notion of Viplav's mother delivering a public pardon to Dhani. Dulari dithers before Inderani, whose idea it was to prove's Dhani's innocence. Dulari clearly feels subservient before Dashrant's family.She feels emotionally dwarfed by their power and wealth, before which her and the rest of the widows stand feeble poor and powerless.. Such is the enormity of their status that even if Viplav's mother was guilty , Dulari had reservations about it. It's called psychological warfare.. fear of the might of the rich.. Somehow Kanak's blatant attack was brushed aside.. But Indirani puts some sense into Dulari's mind and states the obvious that as humans, all are created equals, it's circumstances that differentiates between them.. She means in terms of basic rights of human dignity and not in terms of exactness, copy to copy. For individuals differ although they have the basic components of the mind, body and soul ,it's about how we think? feel, react and appear, that gives us our personal identity, sets us apart from each other. So the verdict is that if wrong is committed against the other, then it's only right that the guilty needs to face punishment. To Dulari it's a far- fetched idea if Viplav would convince his mother to apologize. Here personal faith and belief, the strong foothold of the poor and vulnerable is sought as Inderani the source of positivity infuses hope in Dulari by evoking the deities for some miracle to happen..
Viplav returns home dejected and weighed down by Inderani 's demand of how to regain Dhani's honour. Dadi asks him the reason for his moroseness? He confesses he went to meet Dhani to set matters right. Kanak mocks him with the question..and have set matters right? Kanak had hoped ,he would have apologized and the matter would have been ironed out. Viplav tells his mother he had done his bit, the rest was in her hands. Kanak didn't quite latch on to the implications of his answer. It was a mighty difficult situation for Viplav to handle. His presence of mind goads him to approach the subject, by first awakening the maternal spirit in his mater. Like a child he asks how much she loved him? her answer was as any mother's reply.. I love you more than my life child.. and can do anything for you.. but these were just words without substance.. for love wants sacrifice.. Kanak was not willing to give up her pride for Viplav, by doing what her son was asking his mother to do.. apologize publically to Dhani for the damage she has caused Dhani's reputation! For Kanak offering an apology meant demeaning herself.. both in her own eyes and more so in public eye.. her reputation as the second mistress of the manor!
The upright officer Ram is an eyesore for Dashrant. He pries too much in his private life all in the name of duty.. Rams duty becomes an obstacle! so Dashrant misuses his expertise of fortune telling , influences a minister into getting a speedy transfer for Ram out of Benaras to another destination! So, all powerful influential men in the dirty game together ,picking out the good law abiding elements that pose a threat to their underhand fraudulent corrupt ways. Honesty is rewarded by family disruption! Dashrant chuckles as he gives the reference of Ram ji going into exile.. only this Ram chaturvedi would be going alone. minus Sita,, Shalu is told by Ram of his transfer , the poor girl coaxes her mother Kanak to ask her dada ji to reverse Ram 's transfer orders.. Kanak does approach her devious FIL, he denys any knowledge of Ram's transfer.. but then reveals Kanak the truth.. that he has the power to cancel the orders. But he will do no such thing as ,he was the one who asked for them to put in the first place! Dashrant controls and manipulates his destiny to suit himself , for the sake of his family.There is no stopping him.. with Ram there was hope ,but he too has been removed from Dashrant's way.. now who will stop this evil wicked selfish so called holy man?
Viplav is crest fallen that his mother had not supported him.. it was his folly to think she would. Now there was only one thing left to do.. leave home.. live the way the widows do , if not feel completely , but at least have a taster of what it means to live rough in the ashram. He has to do it all the more , because it was due to him that Dhani's reputation was tarnished by her near drowning incident.. he saved her life ,but he couldn't save her pure reputation... odd but he tried to bring happiness into her life but instead made her grieve.. whenever he attempts to do anything in good faith for her ,it turns out to be something offensive for her! now he would have to show her that he stood accountable for his follies and it was penance time for him.. feel her pain.. to understand it..as he wants to be the one who heralds happiness in her life.. but how successful will he be ? depends on how long he perseveres for?
Viplav packs his bags , his dada ji much relieved says , I see you are leaving for USA.. Viplav clarifies no he's not , but one thing is for sure .. I won't be staying here as I am leaving. so he hasn't disclosed the destination he heads for?
Kanak phones Tripurari and gives him a mouthful. Threatens him to watch his back as she knows about his double deals and that he was the one to send the picture of her humiliating Dhani. She warns him and compares him to a sly puny jackal who skirts about in the shadows of the jungle .. whereas she is the all powerful lioness of the jungle.. waiting to snap him with her sharp teeth! Basically she reiterates to him ,that she is the all powerful second mistress of dashrant's jungle while he Tripurari nothing but a menial ,insignificant, waste of space crawler of the jungle ! and if he goes out of turn , she will crunch him to bits! She snaps her teeth over the phone.
Viplav knocks at the ashram door.. the dough man is expected . Dhani opens the door and finds Viplav standing there with his bag and baggage.. she looks gob smacked and he waits patiently to be let in.. she stands blocking him and Inderani asks was it the dough man? Viplav announces his arrival as their lawyer! waits for her to move ..asks her aside .. she doesn't, but he squeezes past her gingerly anyway.. wheels his trolley and sits down comfortably on the bed . She glares at him and he responds by giving her a smug in a bug look.. she moans at him , here again! you come into our lives causing more trouble .. she calls out tell this man to leave! and he replies cockily . iam not a man , but a rakhshas! She tells him to leave and he says, this is to tell you all as of now I will be living in the ashram! all are shocked .But Dhani picks his baggage and he says get out! before I throw you out with your bags .. Viplav calls out, okay I'll leave! after you give me my charging solicitors fee! and the widows nearly die of shock when he quotes his price, and he explains , he gave them a discount, since they were his first clients. .no worries! as I 'll collect it in instalments in rent..
