ITS COMPLICATED PART 2
Dulaari woke up early and crept silently into Dhaani's room, careful not to wake her.
She was worried for her daughter, who could barely stand last night.
She gently touched Dhaani's forehead and drew back with a cry. It was burning with fever. But this fever was much too high for Dulaari to simply dismiss it. She ran downstairs as fast as possible, tension building on her face.
The first person she saw was Suwarna
" Suwarna..Suwarna!!" she screamed,running,towards her
"What's wrong Dulaari Mai?" she asked.
"Suwarna you need to run to the doctor
Quickly.. Dhaani is very sick and im very worried. Please please go!"
" ha... Of course.. Ill go now " Suwarna said as she hurried out of the ashram.
Leaving all thought of breakfast behind, Dulaari took a wash cloth and some cool water upstairs to reduce her daughters temperature.
" I need another beer." Viplav groaned, lying down against the cool rocks of the ghaats.
His friends looked at him with raised eyebrows
"Viplav when are you going to tell us what happened last night. "
Viplav groaned and got down from the ledge. People pushed passed him to reach the morning aarti.
"Do you two ever shut up?" Viplav exclaimed as he drained his bottle and threw it into the murky water."How's a man supposed to drink to forget when the people around him keep asking him to remember?"
He was looking around for another bottle to drown himself in when a figure in white crashed into him.
He was about to say HER name when he stopped himself.
"Look where youre going" he grumbled.
"Sorry Vakhil babu" he heard her say.She was about to run past him when he stopped her.
"Suwarna?" he said, his voice changing to concern when he saw the uneasiness on her face.
"Suwarna what's wrong?" he asked.
"Sorry Vakhil babu.. But Im in a rush to get to the doctor.Dhaani is really really sick.Dulaari Maai is panicking."
Viplav felt the floor drop from underneath him
" Sick? How sick?Suwarna is she awake. Is she ok?"
" Sorry Vakhil Saab but I have no idea.Im sorry i have to go quickly, or she'll get worse."
Viplav didnt know when he ended up in front of the Ashram. He wasn't aware of himself getting out of the jeep, and raising his hand to knock on the door.
Should I do it? He thought to himself. After all the things she has said to me, should I do this? Why do I care anyway he asked himself. But his feet refused to folloe orders.
Doctor.. Is she ok? Dulaari question the aged man.leaning over Dhaani with a tense expression on his face.
" I think we are going to have to bring her to a hospital... Her breathing is too slow, she is showing signs of extreme fever and low blood pressure as well as weakness from lack of food."
" I shouldnt have made her keep that vrat," Dulaari moaned while the elderly women tried to comfort her.
Viplav dragged himself back to his jeep, resting his head against the steering wheel
"What's wrong with you Viplav... Why are you behaving like you've gone insane?"
He had just started the car when he heard the sound of an ambulance.
It drove up,alongside his car, and parked in front of the ashram.
His heart lurched with fear and dread, which proved all too true when he saw, to his utmost horror, dhaani being lifted inside.
His mind flashed back to his nightmare the previous night.
The steady pace of the monitor... The cold limp hand that fell lifelessly into his.
Without thinking twice, Viplav drove after the ambulance. He thought of little else but Dhaani as he sped along the highway.
"Dhaani... I dont know whats happening...I dont know why you keep, coming into my mind.." he said aloud to no one in particular.
" But i cant ever bear to see you get hurt Dhaani... It tortures me to see you cry. What's happening to me Dhaani... Only you can give me the answers..."
PRECAP: Viplav gives blood to Dhaani, and stays in the hospital the entire night.
The next morning the doctor describes to Dhaani her ailment when she wakes up,and she realizes Viplav saved her life.
