Hi All,

I started watching this show for Mishal, liked him as Dutta.
I like the rest of the cast and the way they are laying the foundation for the story.

What bugs me is the constant use of the word "vidhwa" by every character.I get it, the heroine being a vidhwa is the central theme of this revolutionary/forbidden love story. IMO, that's established well by now.All the widows are dressed in white and everyone mocks them for their misfortune.

But it's jarring to hear the word "vidhwa" from every character in every other dialogue.Words lose the power of impact when over used and it has just been 3 episode? and am already tired of hearing it.
Get on with it CVs, without throwing the V word in every sentence.

Any one else here feels the same?

It's already driving people to sleep?😆

They have a great story and excellent cast in their hand.

I hope they convey the message through other means and don't overly depend on dialogues. It just becomes repetitive and redundant.

You said it well! They are indeed alienated from the mainstream society.
This fact is established and i hope they'll use the word sparingly.

hi simran , thanks for your post.. yes the word is repetitive.. perhaps its to drum it in our brains that's its about this issue of society where dehumanization takes place under the norms laid down by faith custom and practice..
what pleases me that there a word called Compassion. that is sweeping over.. mercy.. to the vulnerable
So far the idea of the show to me is to present the widow as a pariah in society.. out cast..

I agree with you. Words loose their meaning and impact when used usually.
I am glad that I mostly watch IKRS in mute.😆 Don't misunderstand me. It is because I watch it when my baby is sleeping.

well yes i agree that the word loses impact when said repetitively
but m not irritated hearing it over and over again...these girls have a name, an unique identity only in the ashram...for the world they are all same...vidhwa..

Yeah,it's too repetitive, may be it's irritating @ times, but the CVs wants to stress their idea strongly, so they are doing so.. Soon they'll change 😊

Thanks for commenting Hamlet:)
Yep, the widows in this show are dehumanised and ostracized by the mainstream society in the story universe.Wish they can convey the same message thr' other means, may be more visually and symbolically.
They are using it as a form of address, like "hey ladka or hey ladki and hey vidwa" and this verbal over dose only makes the dialogues un-natural to me.
