He stared at her , numb. She was lying on the hospital bed struggling to breath. He remembered how he had promised her to hate her with every breath and here he was, hating his own self for not trusting her and disrespecting every moment which they had shared previously. He was traumatised for the fact that he was the one who had promised to protect her, and here she was lying lifeless, for lack of trust.
His thoughts were disrupted when he heard the doctor pat him and tell him that he can go and meet the patient. As shameful as he felt for being infront of her, he wanted to see her face. As soon as he got into the room he saw her trying to let go off the vigo and drips and move around.
She looked at his figure and shivered for a minute - "Meii aapse aur favours nahi chaahti, mujhe hospital tak laane ke liye thank you, ab mei hosh mei huun, manage karluungii. . "
He did not have any response. He knew he had no right or courage whatsoever to ask anything from her. He just went and fell down on her lap on the bed.
She was taken aback. She couldn't deny that she missed his warmth and his touch but she was too scarred to put her faith in what they shared.
She tried to lift him off her - "Mei jaanti huun ki humdono North aur South Pole se bhi zyada alag hain, aapki ek girlfriend hai, aapko yeh sab shobha nahi deta, aur mei nahi chaahti ki aap firse meri kisi baat ko pakad ke beth jaayen aur mujhe sunaayen, mei nahi chaahti aap mujhe koi hints dene ka regret rakhen"
He didn't have any answer to soothe her troubles, or rather his own, theirs.
He just sat on the bed and hugged her in the same manner she had hugged him that night. She hesitated and pulled back but he pulled her hands around him in the same manner which she had.
He felt her trying to control her sobs and he dipped his face in the crook of her neck and pulled her closer.
After a few minutes of struggle she melted in his arms and caressed his hair.
He put her carefully in his lap and she gasped as he numbed her senses with his iron hold around her waist.
And he kept on hugging her untill he felt her relaxing in his arms and both of them clinged on to each other, making up for all that happened between them all the while.
