Here comes another of my monologues.
.
So what happened today morning is I got an invitation to follow a page named "Arjun: The Invincible God",
And my face instantly stretched creasing with a grin of amusement, why because, that person knows I am a Karna Fan, yet has the audacity to send me the request!

And so I went ahead to ask him, why did he send me knowingly, or if he had somehow forgotten?
.
What he said instantly took away my amusement and instead ticked me enough to give him an earful of my usual lessons on morality.
He said,
"I know you are a Karna fan but at the same time you dislike those kind of Karna fans also who insult others, that's why I sent this to you. So that you can enjoy seeing them bashed whom you don't like on this page"
And this coming from someone who claims to have Arjun as an idol?
.
So here I am,
On the group, to share my answer to him for all those fanboys and fangirls among you, whoever you idolise,
to help you realise what you are doing.
Especially Arjun fans.
So listen up.
.
When he told me he thought I would like an Arjun fan page because I don't like other Karna fans,
I filled him in with this..
.
"That doesn't make me an Arjun fan.
I don't just dislike K-fans, I dislike all those fans who do not do justice to their idols by getting into cheap debates about who is better.
I am not going to read posts that overglorify one particular warrior over another.
.
Arjun is so much more than just a great warrior.
He is a great Human Being,
.
a Gentleman from whom can learn how to live life with excellence and honor from birth till death.
.
Arjun learnt everything with dedication, passion, love and sincerety, be it Dharma, Martial arts, or even Fine Arts.
.
He was a life-long student, who was not proud of his reknowned strength but courageous enough to ask what one would call silly but very significant questions even in face of war and death. Shame that no one ever talks of his spirit of humility and constant improvement.
.
He always tried his best to follow and respect his family values and laws, and always tried his best to do whatever was expected of him by his elders, finding his happiness in the happiness of his dear ones, never really asking for himself, even when polygamous marriage with Draupadi whom he himself won, was proposed. Yet no one ever talks of how good a son he was?
.
He is the only Pandava who speaks for Draupadi when given a chance in DyutSabha. He is the one who for his wife's safety even decided to stay as a womanized dance teacher in Matsya for a year! Yet why don't you ever talk of how responsible a husband he was?
.
He is the one who is committed where he is needed to be and is a detached sanyasi when he is supposed to be.
He is so generous that inspite of his sanyasi vow, he marries the Naga widow Ulupi to save her from suicide. Yet you never acknowledge such a kind soul from Mahabharat, and only brand him as the greatest killer, don't you?
.
He is the one who is a great friend of Krishna, so much better than the friend Karna was of Duryodhan, always finding joy and support and faith in Krishna's company and guidance alone, not his armies or strength as an accomplished warrior which you can use to win wars or opportunity of reknown.
Sad that no die-hard fan talks of how much there's to learn and be inspired by his faith and commitment to those he calls his own.
.
He is Also an excellent singer, musician and dancer. A multitalented genius, who took it to himself to make himself into what he was through dedication. He was not born with the talent or gifts or powers, don't keep quoting Avatar of God, as if that makes him better, it takes away credit of all his efforts, don't you get it?
He got the support of even the Gods only for all the merit he built up with His Own Karma.
.
He is the one who is so selfless and has so much love and commitment to family and teacher, that he questions the reason of war and mass bloodshed, which he was supposed to fight for a moral obligation of justice!
.
Arjun is a man who is big hearted enough to live his life giving up everything for other's happiness, not for his own selfish desires, like Karna.
.
And what do fanpages like the one you shared do to him?
Reduce his great and inspiring personality to a mere Best invincible warrior, and only talk about how he is better than Karna, or how opinions of K-fans are wrong about him.
.
So I personally make sure of it to never follow pages or join groups where you have fans in majority, be it of any character, be it even Arjun or even Krishna.
You don't really do justice to their greatness, you don't really acknowledge their true worth.
.
Warriors will only inspire children who are fans of superheroes,
But for the public, only a great Human Being can inspire them.
Please try to show and acknowledge the Human Face of your idols, not just clap for their performance and skills.
.
So there's your answer.
I will not like the page that even in title screams "Arjun: The Invincible God", and not "Arjun: The Ideal Human" or "Arjun: What it means to be a Nara".
.
Quite an embarrasment that a Karna fan had to explain you about Arjun.

"
.
I forgot to add though, that I for once enjoyed getting into the shoes of a K-fan in terms of you know, bashing an Arjun fan, for real.. albeit a pretty deluded one.
Hope you found sonething worth spending your time on this.
Actually some good did come out of my agitation at the shallowness of that fan.I created this amazing photo-edit of Arjun for this post.
Isn't it quite a take-away?

Alright then, as goes my usual closing statement,
Have a nice day, y'all.

(Yes I did this post instead of releasing another of my songs today on the weekend, so sorry about that. Maybe this post will become an inspiration for a song on Arjun?
