Vijaya Dasami reminds me of #Arjun's unparalleled valour.I feel the thrill as if it happened just today, before my eyes.

Yes. I am talking about Arjun's Uttar Gograhan victory. Legend says the Great War between Arjun and the whole Kuru army happened on Vijayadasami. Must be true because on Margasirsha Ekadasi the Kurukshetra war commenced.

I always feel the same thrill whenever I imagine the scene before my eyes. The whole kuru army on one side with great Maharadhis and only Arjun on another side. That also with a charioteer like Uttar!

How did he manage to crush his rivals ? Did he feel any scare at any moment ? No . He is a one man army. He has strong will, commitment to get back the cows and a determination to teach Duryodhan a lesson.

Awesome exhibition of superb skills with great intelligence. The way he first got back the cows to Virat Nagar proves what an immaculate planner he is.His heroism, his chivalry and his dynamism must have been a treat to the eyes of his dear Grandfather, his Guru Dron and even Aswathama and Kripacharya. Hence Vijaya Dasami reminds me of Vijaya the greatest archer and a gem of a human being who won the heart of Lord himself.

Happy Vijaya Dasami to all Arjun lovers. I Would like to chant the verses not honour of the tree that sheltered Arjun's Gandiva the Sami Tree. "

Sami Samayate Papam Sami Satru Vinasini

Arjunasya Dhanurdhari Ramasya Priya Darsini

May the Sami tree remove the sins and destroy the rivals ,the tree that held Arjun's bow and is dearer to Srirama.

Nice post!
Virat Yudh was really amazing, Arjun single-handedly routed the mighty Kaurava army which included so many legends. Salute to the undefeated warrior and the best human being. Arjun was such a formidable force, in many instances he single-handedly took on armies and was victorious.

Below is a quote from iskcondesiretree:
"Wherever there is Krsna, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality".

Yes. Arjun is unique. Unparalalled. This is the day on which he conquered the whole Kaurava army

The quote you gave is the famous verse from Mahabharata Bhishma Parva.

Sanjaya tells Dhritarashtra at the end of Bhagawad gita

Yatra yogeswara: Krishno yatra partho Dhanurdhara:
Tatra sri vijayo bhuti: dhruva nitirmatirmama.

It is a custom that this verse is being recited after chanting Vishnu sahasra nama

Feel thrilled to see so much admiration and adulation for Arjun here 😊 ... I initially thought, may be I'm a rarity, who is so much fascinated with the great Arjun and who is always eager to read anything about him. But, seeing here so many having similar taste, makes me thrilled.
Truly, Arjun the great hero is not forgotten by his people even today!

This magnificent thread is quite unique and makes us all connected with our love and fascination towards Arjun... Thanks to Lakshmi for her dedication and unique story telling skills...

@Divu
Anytime anything for Arjun.

I will start with that which is much publicised by modern TV shows like Dharmakshetra. I mean breaking the rule first.

Those we read the critical edition would never believe that. Contrary to what is shown Sikhandi never ascends Arjun's chariot. He stands along with Arjun not in his chariot.
Sikhandi is used only to control Bheeshma's onslaught but the main fight happened between Arjun and Bheeshma.till the end.If you read my story I exactly described the way it happened.

Arjun made way for Sikhandi to go nearer to Bheeshm . He cleared the protective wing surrounding Bheeshma and restricted the soldiers and warriors from being with Bheeshma.
Dussasan is the only one who again and again tried to resist Arjun but was thrashed by him and he fled away.

Arjun on one hand tackled Kaurava army and on the other hand fought with his grandfather like never before. Whenever Sikhandi tried to challenge him Bheeshma would avoid and turn towards Arjun. Real fight happened between the grandfather and his dearest grandson.

Bheeshma confesses to Dussasan whatever arrows struck on his body belong to Arjun but not to Sikhandi.
Sikhandi is destined to take revenge by being the means but not the cause of Bheeshma's fall.

The night before when Arjun sulks before Krishna that he can not harm his dearest Pitamah Krishna clearly states" Sikhandi could not do anything to Bhishma. Only your arrows will do the task. You are destined to do that..

Divu these TV shows are distorting facts. But we have our epic to check no? Truth always prevails ..No one can take away Arjun's glory . They can't..
